**A Prisoner's Guide to Cooking with a Pocket Radio**
In this article, we'll explore the world of cooking with a pocket radio, a device that may seem like a novelty item but can actually produce some impressive results. Our chef and prison culinary expert will guide you through the process of boiling one cup of water, adding noodles, seasoning, and SPAM to create a delicious and affordable meal.
**The Challenge Begins**
We're starting with just one cup of water, which has been sitting on this machine for about six minutes, waiting to be used. Our goal is to boil some water quickly and efficiently, as we don't have all day. We'll also be using half the recommended amount of seasoning powder to avoid over-salting our dish. With a little creativity and some careful planning, we can create a meal that's both delicious and budget-friendly.
**Cooking with a Pocket Radio**
Now that our water is boiling, it's time to add our noodles and other ingredients. We'll be using a type of noodle that rehydrates quickly, even in cold water, so don't worry if you're not sure how it will behave. Simply place your noodles in the pot, add some green onions and a few slices of SPAM, and let them cook for about 10 minutes. While our dish is cooking, we'll make a sandwich using this same pocket radio.
**The Sandwich**
Our sandwich is made with two slices of bread, a slice of American cheese, and a fried egg. We'll add some crispy bread to our sandwich to give it texture and crunch. Once our ramen noodles are cooked, we can add them to a bowl along with the SPAM, green onions, and egg. The result is a delicious and satisfying meal that's sure to hit the spot.
**A Delicious Meal**
Our meal consists of a grilled and toasted sandwich with crispy bread, soft and smoky SPAM, a rich sauce made from the soft cooked egg, and some crunchy noodles on top. We'll also be adding some ketchup to give it an extra burst of flavor. With this meal, we can see that cooking with a pocket radio is definitely possible.
**The Build Quality**
While our pocket radio may not have the most impressive build quality, there are some redeeming features. The glass tray and stainless steel cookery gear make cleaning up easy, but there are also many plastic components to contend with. We'll need to be careful when washing our dishes and making sure they're thoroughly dry before storing them.
**Is it Worth $80?**
While our pocket radio may have its drawbacks, we can't deny the fact that it's a compact and portable cooking device. If you're looking for something small and lightweight that won't take up too much space in your kitchen, then this might be worth considering. However, if you're on a tight budget or don't need a lot of power to cook with, there may be other options available.
**Conclusion**
Cooking with a pocket radio is definitely an unconventional approach, but it can lead to some delicious and surprising results. With a little creativity and some careful planning, we were able to create a tasty meal using just one cup of water and a few simple ingredients. We hope this article has inspired you to try cooking with a pocket radio or other portable cooking devices.

I can make bettervideos for all of you. Now, today, I'm going to be testingout yet another breakfast station machine. If you missed the previous videoI'll put a link down below.I got this breakfast maker --this is called The Breakfast Machine --I purchased this on Amazon for 79.99.It is much, much smallerthan the last machine. In terms of styling,I think it's kind ofgoing for this retro look.Little tiny, tiny pot, includes a little steam rack,so you could steam a bun or some eggs.Tiniest little frying pan, very thin material. And over here, which I found interestingis a little kind of grill pan,and it's basically on or off,and then it's either cooking or warm.So after doing a little bit of research,I found that noodles, particularly noodle soups, are very popular as abreakfast all over Asia.So I've not yet tested this machine, and what I've decided to make with it isa Hong Kong cafe styleinstant noodle dish, called Gong Zai Mein, and I first learned about itfrom The Woks of Life --I'll put a link down below. It's chicken-flavored instant noodle, particularly the Doll brand.I wasn't able to find that,so I'm gonna be substitutingMaruchan's chicken flavoredinstant noodles instead. And we are going to boil that up in here, and then we're gonna fry some SPAM,and an egg, sunny-sideup egg to have with it,and that's it.But I also want to test the panini press,so I'm also going tomake a more Western stylebreakfast sandwich using some SPAM,some cheese, and an egg as well.So let's go ahead and get started. This is so cute,it's like a toy or something. So we're gonna put that on there.A little bit of oil to itand let that warm up a bit.I'm also gonna slice some SPAM.Smelled like burnt plasticwhich is sort of typicalfor the first time you use an appliance.Yep, looks like the heatingis a little uneven there.Just a little pepper.(calm music)And this is heating up as well.So I don't think there's a wayto turn this off.Now I've done a few things with SPAM,including making SPAM fries, and I've done a SPAM taste test, and I'll put links downbelow to those videos.Okay.(calm music)And if you've never had SPAM beforeit smells a lot like bologna. It doesn't taste likebologna, in my opinion,it has a different texture, and much saltier.Pop a little lid on it,just to steam it up.So my egg is almost done. And I think over hereI'm gonna go ahead and fry up my SPAM.(SPAM sizzling)So I'm just gonna close thisand see what happens. For my ramen noodles, that egg looks done to me.There's a little bit ofsticking I've noticed,so make sure you add enough oil.Now this egg is gonna goinside my sandwich, and I prefer it not to be runny. So let's check the SPAMand see if it's browned up at all.Oh yeah, a little bit.So I'm gonna go ahead and cook this egg,and once this egg is finished, and this SPAM is golden brown,we'll go ahead and moveon to the next stepwhich will be making the noodles. All righty my lovelies, I am back, and I'm cooking my second batch of SPAM,and it is taking quite a long time.So like the other breakfast maker,it seems the power cycles on and off,and you don't reallyhave any control of that. And I understand that's probablybecause we have a dual option setup here.I can imagine using this machinein a confined space, maybe a dorm room, or an RV,someplace where space is very limitedand power, you don'twanna draw too much power, but your meal is goingto take quite a while,if we compare that to say a gas rangeor a typical electric range.I am attempting to boil one cup of water, and it has been sittingon this machine for about six minutes. And now I'm going to add my noodles.I'm gonna have to break thembecause they don't fit.I'm also going to add the seasoningbut I'm only going to add half, the SPAM is going to be very, very salty. We can always add more as my mom says, but we can't take it out.Plus I'm using a little less water.Okay, so I think the SPAM is finished.(SPAM sizzling)(calm music)It did take a long time.I had to flip this many, many, many times. Our fully cooked egg for the sandwichand our sunny side up egg for the ramen. And this entire meal willbe less than a dollar, plus, once you buy these ingredients, you have plenty of SPAM and eggsfor other recipes as well.So we're just gonna boil that.I'm just gonna leavethat beautiful Spammy, fatty grease in there.Place a piece of bread, add a slice of American cheese, that egg we cooked -- lovely!Oh, that fits so nicely! Two slices of SPAM,final layer of bread. And now we're going to press this closed.(chuckles) That's gonna be good. After doing some prison recipes,I know that ramen can rehydrate, even in cold water. So at this point, this has been cookingfor a full 10 minutes. In terms of the amountof heat and power that thisgenerates is quite low,it does feel very much like a toy.But once it gets going,it is quite hot.Let's check on our sandwich.Nice.Add ramen noodles into a bowl;add my egg; green onions;two pieces of SPAM.(calm music)A grilled and toasty sammie(calm music continues)Itadakimasu!Oh, so hot.Mm-hmm.It's delicious:the bread is crisp;the meat is soft and smokey; salty;the egg is in there;and then you have the cheese that kindof oozes and sticks everything together.I do think it needs a littlebit of ketchup though.I meant to put ketchupinside the sandwich, but, ooh,I got ketchup blood on my plate.Ugh.Okay, okay.Sorry, I forgot to shake it.Okay.All right, let's trydipping it in some ketchup, and for me that makes it tastelike breakfast.Mmm.All righty, here we go.Mmm, mm-hmm,that's good too.Mmm.Starch, chickeny flavor. The soft cooked eggmakes kind of a rich sauce.Paired with the noodleswhere I didn't put as muchof the seasoning powderthat came with the ramen noodles,it's very nice.So definitely reduce the amount of sodiumif you're using SPAM.Also, no need to saltthe egg either, mm-hmm.And green onions,I am such an advocateof adding green onionsto any instant noodles --I just feel like itjust makes it so zippy, and alive, and extra tasty. This would be deliciouswith a handful of spinach in it as well,or any other kind of green, maybe some peas, frozen peas, frozen carrots, sugar snap peas, snow peas, all of them would be delicious in this.I would say the buildquality is pretty sound;there are a lot of plastic pieces, but I do like that you can remove the trayand wash them. The cookery stuff, this is real glass, this is actual stainless steel,so you can scrub it and clean it.I do like that, but there are a lot ofplastic components as well.Is it worth $80?I'm not sure, I think I might be happierinvesting in a hot plate. On the other hand, if you're lookingfor something small and compact and BTUsor output isn't such an issue, then this might be for you.All right my lovelies, thanks so much for watching, and big
