2007 SHELBY GT500 _ REVIEW on AUTOBAHN [NO SPEED LIMIT] by AutoTopNL

**A Brutal yet Awesome Drive: The 2007 Tremec-Spaced Supercharged V8 Mustang**

As we set off on this drive, we're greeted with an unexpected surprise - the car is open and closed. We opt to close it, relieved that it's not as rough as we expected. However, when we switch to "open," the experience takes a dramatic turn. The engine sounds like it's from Detroit in the 60s, a far cry from the smooth power delivery of modern cars. The transmission is a manual gearbox with a 6-speed Tremec unit, and at first glance, it seems perfectly fine for everyday driving. However, as soon as we start accelerating, the clutch proves to be a challenge.

We find that the clutch is extremely firm, requiring a considerable amount of force to engage and disengage. In fact, it's so tough that even the most experienced drivers struggle to get into gear seamlessly. The manual gearbox can be finicky at times, especially when shifting through the gears. It's almost as if the car is trying to make us work for every bit of power it produces. To alleviate this issue, Tom advises that letting the car settle for half a second before shifting into higher gears makes all the difference.

As we take in the sights and sounds around us, we notice that the car's live rear axle makes it sensitive to road irregularities such as potholes and uneven camber. This means that even minor issues can affect the car's balance and handling, making it a more challenging drive than expected. Despite its quirks, Tom adores this car for its raw, unpolished nature. The engine purrs smoothly at low speeds, but when we put the pedal to the metal, the V8 engine comes alive.

The supercharger kicks in, imbuing the engine with an additional 500 horsepower. This is where the car truly shines, accelerating from a standstill in mere seconds and reaching an impressive speed before the rev limiter kicks in at 6000 rpm. The exhaust note is a treat for the ears, a sonic boom that signals the car's presence on the road.

As we explore further, Tom reveals that this Mustang has a rich history, with its V8 engine being one of the most iconic powerplants in American muscle cars. He also shares his own experiences driving various classics, including a 1965 Mustang with a 289 V8 engine. With such an incredible lineup of vehicles to draw from, it's little wonder that Tom has developed a passion for these muscle cars.

In conclusion, this Tremec-Spaced Supercharged V8 Mustang is an unforgettable drive, with its unique combination of brute power and raw energy making every experience feel exhilarating. Despite some quirks and challenges, the car's character and charm more than make up for it. With its rich history, impressive performance capabilities, and distinctive sound, this mustang is sure to leave a lasting impression on any driver lucky enough to get behind the wheel.

legendary cars and for this one shelby and ford decided that the legendary gt500 name should be brought back and today i'm going to review it i'm going to show you around it we're going to take it for a little drive towards the autobahn for an autobahn blast but before we begin don't forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell if you want to receive updates when we upload a new video check us out on instagram if you like at the top now or you can also check out the owner of this car on instagram dutch gt500 go check him out because this is an awesome car and we've got the legendary spec of course white with blue racing stripes we've got a shelby bumper at the front with a little splitter of course the big gaping mouth the grille all open no ford or mustang logo in the grill just the shelby cobra there which is awesome hello buddy i mean wheels svt wheels they are really cool this car is from 2007 as i said and i think they've been resprayed uh once in during its life or at least once because they look really good uh 18 inch width behind that ford performance brakes upgraded for the shelby over the regular mustang gt down the side we've got a little side skirt we've got the gt500 stickers of course and another cobra check them out on instagram and at the rear we've got a little bootlet spoiler a shelby badge of course the beautiful shelby gt500 logo right there and we've even got a little diffuser as you can see and some proper exhaust tailpipes those are old school that's just a that's just an exhaust i love it no intricate things nothing complicated just an exhaust now uh the one mod two mods we know tom has done or this car has number one is that he installed this cold air intake right there which should up the power a little bit uh not too much though and number two is that it's got um a bypass valve just before the center silencer so if you open the valves this thing is absolutely mental it's so loud and it sounds so good and dirty and oh delicious so we've got a 5.4 liter v8 iron block with an eaton supercharger on top of it so this develops 506 horsepower and around 650 newton meters of torque it is a beast this engine um around the same time you had the ford gt of course also 5.4 liter v8 supercharged but this is a completely different setup so the ford gt had an aluminium block this is iron and uh they had different superchargers as well so this is meant for like mid-range stork beefy real like muscle car feel and the one on the gt is more geared towards performance in the high end of the ref range so this is really muscle car and you just feel that so so good so this is powered by svt as you can see it's a cool engine to look at with that supercharger on top looks awesome so as i said 506 horsepower cool hood fence as well 506 horsepower but it actually feels like it it has a little bit more but it feels so powerful so on the interior well this is 2007 ford for you a lot of plastics a lot of cheap stuff but i don't really care anymore you know it it's just an old car they're not that expensive anymore uh it is great great great value for money and i used to think that these four mustangs are super ugly i i used to hate them but i don't anymore i think you know as as they get older i start to appreciate them a little bit more um i do have to say that the facelift for this car which came i think after 2009 that is a big improvement but i do think this is a little less ugly now um other than that i mean we've got yeah it's basic stuff we've got an alpine screen here for some navigation stuff and i'm sorry tom but i do think we have a demolished your gear knob i was going to say i really really love this one with that shelby gt500 on there and the double stripe and stuff but this gearbox you have to freaking manhandle you have to muscle from especially from third to fourth on the autobahn run the 100 to 200 kilometers an hour the measurements i think we broke it so i'm definitely going to buy you a new one of these i'm very sorry don't worry guys we normally don't break other people's cars but this yeah just happened i'm sorry so i'm going to uh make sure it's secure like that but that's not supposed to be this way so we're going to buy you a new one don't worry um so let's start it up oh that was actually louder than i was expecting okay so we've got a little remote here open and close so i'm guessing close is closed yeah it is so this is closed that's quite civilized i'm not going to rev it too hard but open oh that just sounds like freaking detroit in the 60s okay so let's take it for a little drive we're going oh this clutch by the way i've never experienced anything like it it is so firm you have to press it so hard honestly i've never felt a clutch that's so tough so we've got a tremex 6-speed manual gearbox and we're going to go right so as you can see driving regularly slowly gearbox is absolutely fine but when you start getting on it it it really struggles to go into gear sometimes well all the time basically uh you really have to like force that gear and i also think that if you're like at the top of the ref range and you let it settle for like half a second it's also a lot better so i don't know why that is maybe one of you guys knows let us know in the comments if you know why that happens but i don't hate it because it kind of feels cool to to really muscle your way through the gears oh that thing is so loud so apparently the in-laws of a subscriber of ours lives here on the right and he is trying to lure us that way but we always go left here i'm sorry maybe one day we'll go right again struggling to get in there but it is such a cool car it it actually has a live axle at the rear so that means that right and left are connected basically oh that is ridiculous it is louder on the outside you you sit here and you think it's yeah it's very it's a very loud car but then you open your windows and you're just deafened by it uh anyway so it's got a live rear axle which even in 2007 when this came out uh it was already quite an old way to to do things it just means that if you go through a porthole on the left the left rear goes down and the right rear goes up so they're basically connected and it means that the car is quite sensitive for uh irregularities in the road potholes camber whatever so it's not the most sophisticated car but i love that i love it for that i i think it just brings so much character to the car you know the oh the fact that you have to muscle your way through the gears but also the fact that it's you know it's not a very sophisticated car it's not polished it's quite a raw experience but it's so freaking fast oh man once you get going i mean it just takes off it is such a brutal car so 6000 rpm redline and that's the end of the speedo and that's the end of the speedo cam okay so speedo cam is done sorry guys but that was already the end of the speedo so that was 260. um it i thought it was limited at 250 kilometers an hour but it's not i think but i think it will go really really quick i i i do think you could get close to 300 kilometers an hour in this i don't know if you would want to uh because i mean it's quite an experience oh those gears are weird as hell that is absolutely savage oh the way it just pulls is so awesome and that v8 combined with that supercharger is is heaven i mean that is just ridiculous oh this i mean this has to be one of the best sounding cars we've got i mean an aventador svg is amazing ferrari 812 superfast of course those those v12s those high revving v12s they are incredible but there's something about these muscle cars these v8s it just goes through everything oh it's very powerful what a car what a car oh man tom yeah you've got such an amazing car and he's got a 1965 uh mustang as well a 289 oh man you're a lucky man this is such an insane car oh that is that is freaking heaven right there oh yeah i don't know i don't know what i need one of these i need a freaking v8 mustang oh that is just insane oh oh my god that is ridiculous that is absolutely ridiculous this is such a cool car it just has 500 horsepower i mean yes it's that's quite a lot but it's not that much but it feels so much quicker oh it's so powerful man tom thank you so much for taking it to us really appreciate it you've got a freaking awesome car to you guys uh you can subscribe by clicking the big button in the middle you can also check out uh this video right here oh go check or go check out this playlist see the next one byewhat's up ladies and gentlemen and
