Stephen's Backstory and The Adventures of Bubble Boy
Stephen has shared with me that he had a rough childhood growing up, experiencing cruelty from people who judged him for being different. He explained that society can be harsh on individuals who don't conform to societal norms. However, Stephen is stronger than that and wants others to feel at ease. For him, rubber duckies are his go-to comfort zone, which inspired him to create a book called The Adventures of Bubble Boy.
A Shout-out to Jennifer K from Tech Flames LLC
Stephen's book would not be the same without the beautiful illustration by Jennifer K from Tech Flames LLC. She is responsible for bringing the story to life with her artwork, and Stephen is grateful for her contribution. Without a good illustration, the dialogue and overall narrative of the book wouldn't have the same impact.
The First Page of The Adventures of Bubble Boy
The first page of the book introduces us to the Jackson family - Mom, Dad, Emma, and Oliver. They're having a meal together, discussing their day, and are looking forward to their baths. After dinner, Mom tells the kids it's time for their baths, and they excitedly prepare themselves for bath time. Jackson picks out his favorite squeaky yellow ducky, while Oliver chooses some yellow ones along with his personal rubber ducky.
A Personal Note from Stephen
As I read the first two pages of The Adventures of Bubble Boy, I couldn't help but be charmed by Stephen's story. He shares a little about himself in the author's notes at the end of the book. He explains that he wrote the story with his toes, without any help involved, and that he collects rubber duckies just like the kids in the story. Stephen also mentions that he's 26 years old and has cerebral palsy, which affects his ability to walk or speak clearly.
The Inspiration Behind The Adventures of Bubble Boy
Stephen reveals that his inspiration for writing the book came from his love of collecting rubber duckies. He still plays with them when he takes a bath, just like the kids in the story. Additionally, Stephen is a Christian and wants to share a message with readers through his book.
A Message for Readers
The Adventures of Bubble Boy has an author's note that Stephen shares with his readers. He explains that sometimes sneaky men try to take away the rubber duckies, but he decides to give them back because... well, that's not revealed in this excerpt! However, we can infer that Stephen wants to promote kindness and sharing.
A Gift for Special Someone
Stephen's book would make a great gift for someone special in your life. With its beautiful cover and inspiring story, it's sure to delight readers of all ages. As someone who respects Stephen's efforts to create physical books (a rare feat!), I'm excited to see his book succeed.
The Author's Note: A Call to Action
Stephen invites readers to check out his book, The Adventures of Bubble Boy. He hopes that it will continue to gain popularity, especially leading up to the holiday season. As a fan, I wholeheartedly agree and encourage all my readers to support Stephen's work by purchasing the book.

A Side Note: Godzilla vs. Kong
As I finish writing this article, I'm excited to watch the upcoming release of Godzilla vs. Kong on November 10th. It's a highly anticipated movie that promises to be an epic battle between two titans. With my love for both Godzilla (2014) and King Kong, I'm eager to see which one will reign supreme. Who are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?
