This was a perfect situation, perfect sized chip, let's give it a shot. So now I have to install this backing for this television. Another thing you'll find with TVs is that the boards are put in a certain spot per model of the television. It could have been the same board, different things, as you'll see there are all different plugins on here that are not utilized on my TV.
That's because this TV probably did not support certain add-ons, which the TV actually really does. So then this board would have been moved to a different location, that's why there's different screw fittings as I just figured out I was putting it all in the wrong spot. Am I a TV repair guy? No, do I kind of know how to repair something like this? Yes, we're gonna be able to get really in-depth.
I don't know, let's just hold my guess is as good as any and this works. Dealing with laptops and video cards and all their issues are so long would tell me common sense but the controller is an issue which would be the same situation with the video card, your controller or GPU ends up being your problem, ends up failing, ended up overheating whatever the case was.
So this would give me no reason to believe that it's any different. So like a smart person I am NOT gonna put the backpack on right away, I'm gonna turn this TV around power it up, see what we get. Guys, here's what was happening before I needed to do a repair and I just like I said everything on this TV was working perfectly fine except all four HDMI ports were dead.
So when I turn the TV on, you get your logo they would say connecting HDMI one didn't matter if it was HDMI two three four didn't matter. Leave the spinning logo saying no signal no matter what. Funny, when I went into the menu to select the inputs of whatever I plugged it into it detected that the HDMI was actually in use but wouldn't give any picture.
Now after doing a repair my HTM eyes are working so that's awesome. I saved the TV, I don't have to buy a new office television just took some of my know-how put it together. Now one thing I will say unfortunately the infrared welding helped but it did not work and why that is is because there was more to that board and EHD my controllers than just that chip that was at fault.
There was other stuff that was actually lifted or soldered itself over time or and so on, so as you seen in the picture or in a video earlier part I put a heatsink on there now to help dissipate that heat which I think should have been done right from factory especially if they knew these things were happening.
So the good news is now it is working. How did I fix it? I put my oven to three eighty five, put the board in after it was heated up for 11 minutes bake the board on some wax paper to make sure that no metal would contact with the stove in any which way reform and after 11 minutes my stove beeped off.
Waited about 45 minutes for it to be cold, make sure it's cold don't take the board warm hot especially in Ohio hurt but warm. Make sure your board is completely cooled off remount it into your TV and boom. Any other little problem that was going on in that board I didn't have to find it, I let heat take care of the problem.
Now this has been running out for a couple days just before I decided to put the rest of this video together only because I wanted to make sure it was still working. I didn't want it to be like a temporary fix this should be pretty permanent this way. Don't use hair dryers, you'll see hair dryers and heat guns and all that crap all over the internet.
Yeah, it might make your TV come on for a little while or your Xbox or whatever people have done it for everything but it's a very temporary fix. Guys, hope you enjoyed Hey I know it wasn't video game related but it is because I play my video games on it and it was not working so guys I hope you enjoyed the video.

let's repair this thing see if it works okay guys I'm going to apologize for the noise because the infrared welder has a very noisy fan and right now I just preheated the base plate so the board won't war so what we're gonna do remember we're focusing on this chip right here so we're going to take this chip now and we're going to reweld it basically back to the main board here we go this is basically simple infrared welding this is something I do as a board level tech and one of the things that we use this for of course it's video Curtis video cards and laptops the psalm when they had that you know black screen of death and so on with the Apple products and the HP and all that back you today with the Nvidia being a huge problem listen to how that stuff got fixed so let's just wait a minute or two and see if this actually works so if I look carefully enough it does look like it may have lifted the board actually looks like it had worked who that time okay guys let's let this cool down and see if it worked okay so the board is now cooled off I'm gonna show you something that I did I hope it works cuz if not a waste of this piece and I guess I can take it off if I need to well what I did was I actually put a heatsink on that chip to me that is something if this product had this issue from the get-go and it was a known issue this should have been done and/or a revision or something maybe when they were repaired they did this so anyway I put a heatsink on here and I hope to see you guys can see you there nice big heatsink perfect size for the chip I actually had this leftover from one of my Raspberry Pi mods that I was doing when I put a fan system in it this was to be removed so perfect situation perfect sized chip let's give it a shot so now I have to install
