The World of Motorsports: A Driver's Perspective
As I stepped into the driver's seat of the Mercedes AMG, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. The car was flying around me like it had a mind of its own, and I had to adjust my grip just to keep up. The biggest thing that struck me about this car is how much it likes to fly around, which made me wonder if I needed to add more grip. But for now, I wanted to get a feel for the car first. As I put the pedal to the metal, the car responded with incredible speed, making me feel like I was in the fast lane.
But as I jumped into the Corvette, I realized that this car is not just about speed, it's also about finesse. The driver had to feed the wheel and let the 13 do its own thing, which was both thrilling and intimidating. As we followed the Corvette around the track, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at its predictability. It was like having a co-pilot who knew exactly what it was doing.
Meanwhile, Colette had just taken to the track in her Z car, and I was eager to see how she would fare. As we watched her take her first laps, it became clear that this car is not for the faint of heart. The pressure was low, but the grip was high, making every turn a thrilling experience.
As the day went on, I couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with my fellow drivers. We were all there to have fun and push our cars to their limits. And as we took a break for lunch, it became clear that this event was not just about racing, but also about community.
The Corvette, in particular, was a standout performer. With its incredible grip and handling, it was like driving on rails. I was impressed by the driver's confidence behind the wheel, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of envy towards their skills.
As the day drew to a close, we took some time to photograph all the cars in attendance, which was a great opportunity to see so many different vehicles up close. It was also a chance for us to socialize and have some fun, as we often do at these events.
But before we could do that, we had a surprise visit from our friend Jimmy. He's always good for a laugh, and he never fails to bring the energy. We spent the evening taking things easy, but it was clear that everyone was excited for what the future held.
As I reflected on the day's events, I couldn't help but feel a sense of appreciation for this community. These are people who share my passion for motorsports, and we all come together to support each other and push ourselves to new heights. And as I looked at my trusty E36, I knew that it was time to break it in properly.
The E36 is a car that requires finesse and patience, but with its 3000 rpm and 60 miles an hour speed, it's not for the faint of heart. I'm excited to take it out for a spin tonight, and see how it handles on the street.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enmmm foreign welcome to today's video guys this is an exciting day because it is officially the first event of osw in 2021 so to make it special i'm gonna be taking the cream s13 i'm gonna drive this thing it's been a minute but uh i don't know i've just been looking to drive it and looking for a reason and everybody's in town and you know i've talked a lot about jimmy these past couple videos but this is the first time the z has been washed in two years it's gotten so bad that someone's refused to wash it because he's worried about contaminating all his detailing supplies well guess what showman jimmy doesn't care contaminated baby yup this thing went through a fence before went through a car wash you're not wrong look at this that's right this is what you call uh a guest with manners so this thing's going to the track chaser's going to the track freddie's going to whip the e36 that's in the truck i'm going to drive good old s13 what do you think about her huh what the srt yeah it's my baby yeah my baby it's my baby oh my back's really bad today so yeah i'm in a lot of pain and colette's also driving her corvette for the first time but it was having power steering issues so she's going to meet us at the track let's do this i actually made quite a bit of suspension changes on this car i just can't remember if it was before or after i drove this thing last at clutch kickers um after driving australia car i decided to move this rack 50 mil forward instead of the usual 15 to 20 mil uh chop from australia kind of give us the tips on what to do on the subframe we got it done on this so now the rack has moved a lot more forward so hopefully it won't over center and it'll feel better a lot but other than that i think i made a few little like ride height adjustments alignment adjustments because the last time i drove this it didn't feel the best but hopefully it feels rad today so one thing that we did kind of switch up with the e36 it was only a weight savings of like a pound or so and the dirtiest was driving me insane so we got stock rear glass in the rear again um we got to do the window trim so when that comes in we'll have to redo that but uh look how much better it looks that's such a game changer i know it makes the car look a million times nicer it wasn't worth like the two pounds weight saving to be annoyed all the time we'll see this chassis twists a lot because it makes so much power and i drive it so aggressively that it might just shatter out of pure force when the whole squad is drifting your fleet i love you i love it we're all having fun out y'all oh a lot of fun oh yeah uh-huh uh yeah damn what i like to drink nice legs jimmy freddy's got some competition oh look at them legs ready my back's been in a lot of pain today so jimmy's been doing me a solid and helping me we've been gone back and forth probably like four different times on spacer size for the s13 yeah yeah this car is so sorted that it's all we got to figure out is the spacer size to look the best on track i love that i'm starting to think that whole back on yours is just a boy kid just just a ploy oh just deploy yeah so on this car one of the fenders is a lot wider than the other i think it's just because of the mold so it's annoying because to get the right fitment you have to have some fitment on one side to have accurate fitment on the other side and i don't like running staggered spacers while i'm drifting because it actually makes the car do weird stuff um but that is something that some people do on like bank tracks because it actually can like loosen up one side because the way it leverages suspension but we're not gonna yeah mind blowing oh technical adam would be nice yeah i think it's a dirt track thing actually makes sense yeah but uh we're on skid pad so uh screw it yeah maybe we got the team flying in a bull check this thing real quick before we go out ready come here you ready bro you ready you ready ready get ready get bombs when i told you to get on my door is that what i meant kid i like your cut g wow i'm super excited to drive this car but i did just realize that my trans mount i never fixed in it so i'm probably gonna have a shifter that's flying around so if you guys see it in the video that's why um new angle setup feels great the car is a little rich so i'm gonna have to adjust that the biggest thing the transmot is flying around a lot which kind of sketches me out i might want to add a little more grip but i'm gonna try to get a feel for the car first this feels very slow right now not again no again jesus ah um um what a wild comparison so i didn't feel like fixing this i want to drive for last five minutes in an a-class session hopping from this to the chaser the j-shirt feels so much faster marco says this car is way faster on track um but running third gear on skip pads annoying he's trying to get into it on the run up there's just not enough time and his trains is grinding and flying around chaser is an amazing car but it's so much more work to drive i have to really feed the wheel or the 13 like kind of self-steer and do its own thing but man that's fun going back and forth yeah that's i want to get marco describe to me following the 13 verses following the chaser uh impossible predictable so i can keep up it's so weird though because driving this this car feels so slow and just like like it doesn't feel like it has a dig with the chaser i feel like yeah but when you run wrong i'm like uh can i like keep up we got a driver's meeting so we'll uh um this car is so good um uh three reaction from the outside of you coming off track like this in the driver's seat so colette showed up and just did her first laps in the z oh sorry the the that the back we've moved on we have moved on i still love you they're even easy oh yes first laps in the vet it's wild it's so drippy and we're both like oh i wonder if the pressure is just super low check the pressure it's at 40. i'm actually like really bummed about this what she was already so much faster than me driving the z and now with the corvette that thing is so gripped up you can't even lift yeah i'm excited i haven't done the real test though which is the actual track so that was just some baby figure eight warm-ups you'll be fine you're just gonna fly through those tires fast that wheel speed in second gear with this much grip and that mic jingle you're gonna you're gonna need a tire sponsor kuma where are you at oh you show them the tongue your tongue held up that's like 70 miles per hour on the way here still just flapping in the air mike said it looked hilarious on track yeah that's just how i looked behind my helmet like the whole time i'm drifting pretty much that's just so confident i am in her already she's driving great but you're driving awesome too i forgot how good this car is god dang it um foreign um um uh what a fantastic start of the drift season uh i had so much fun everybody was just hopping between different cars uh i gotta say too this is the first like public osw event i've been to for a long time since we've been traveling and out of town super super impressive i think all the drivers in the area have really stepped their game up there are a lot of tandems that are really rad to see a lot of cool cars that i haven't seen before but overall it's a blast i think we're gonna arrange all the cars take a couple photos and load up go back maybe go out tonight do something fun uh we'll probably resume the video there because i feel like ending it at the track may be kind of boring um but yeah jimmy's last night jimmy loves to get lit let's do it i could have kept drifting crack the whip dj oh jump on this fight i'll take both of you idiots donald you idiot in terms of casualties nothing major the i guess biggest irreparable i don't think you're a parable thing but thing that isn't just like a minor quick fix uh 350z smoked another power steering pump pretty much every event smokes pump and colette uh has a power steering leak from like uh something like wearing on the pulley but that's just been like little minor stuff so that's pretty cool since colette's car is getting trailered back i'm actually gonna street drive the e36 for like the first time i got it registered and insured and i pretty much only drove in the very beginning when we did street testing on it before like events and stuff but other than that because it doesn't have windows and the gearing's really short with whatever diff i have in there i don't really drive it on the street but we're about to have some fun with it tonight we're at 3000 rpm at 60 miles an hour a little bit of a wide oh um when you saidmmm
