A Sunday Retreat: Organizing and Reading

As I sit here on this Sunday afternoon, I'm feeling quite relaxed and ready to tackle some tasks that have been lingering for a while. My priority is organizing my apartment and doing some other necessary chores before returning to work tomorrow. Despite the chaos, I've had an incredible time during the reading rush in Canada, and I'm excited to share my progress with you all.

I've made significant strides in my reading, exceeding my own expectations of what I could accomplish. I finished three books, which is more than I initially set out to do, and I'm thrilled about it. The highlight of this week's reading has been "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." I'm absolutely loving this book, and it feels like coming home for me.

I've retreated into my bedroom to start reading, and as we speak, I'm working on Chapter 5: The Whomping Willow. I've already read 56 pages of the illustrated edition, but I don't know what that translates to in the actual book yet. I'll make sure to update you all on my progress. For now, I'm simply enjoying this chapter and immersing myself in the world of Hogwarts.

A Quick Update from My Reading Nook

I just wanted to give you a quick update on how much I've read so far. As of today, I've reached 100 pages into "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." That means I'm close to reaching my goal of 1500 pages for this read-a-thon! I'll make sure to keep you all updated on my progress.

After a productive reading session, I took a break to enjoy some dinner with Clay. He picked us up sandwiches, and we spent the evening watching "Band of Brothers" together. It was a lovely way to unwind and spend quality time together. Now that I've finished my reading for the day, I'll probably do a bit more reading before bed.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts

And that's it! The end of my read-a-thon vlog has finally arrived. I wanted to take this opportunity to give you all an update on how much I was able to read during this week. As it turns out, I completed three books and started a fourth one – "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" – which is just amazing! I'm thrilled with my progress and inspired to challenge myself to more readathons in the future.

The highlight of my reading journey has been re-reading "Chamber of Secrets." It feels like I've come home, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Reading this book has brought back so many fond memories of reading "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" for the first time. The illustrations in the illustrated edition are stunning, and I love how they add an extra layer of magic to the story.

hung out with my co-workers and stuff and i just decided um not to vlog i also didn't really read very much yesterday i did read during my commute which i'll be happy to talk about more but aside from that i didn't really read much at all but that being said i'm really excited to complete the rest of the vlog it is friday as i mentioned i'm actually working from home today and then after work i'm actually heading to the airport to fly to canada so i'll have a lot of time to read on the plane and at the airport etc i'm also excited just to vlog my canadian adventure with you guys so i think that will be lots of fun but um yeah so that's it that's the start so this is officially the start of the part two vlogs i hope you guys enjoyed part one and that will continue on the reading momentum into part two um and i'll be sure to give you guys an accurate page count the beginning of this vlog about where i am where i hope to be and so forth and and such so i am gonna head out not head out but i'm gonna stop vlogging because i do have to sign in to work because it is still a work day and i will check in later perks of working from home is matilda's here with me my favorite co-worker and i picked up my favorite bagel for my local bagel guy so it's a win-win on this friday taking a salad lunch break let's put their real housewives on to watch while i eat this whoa i officially signed up work for the weekend and i actually for the airport in about 30 minutes so i'm trying to like get all my ducks in a row um before i leave so checking over my suitcase making sure everything i need is packed and then getting all my books in line i guess i kind of want to chat about what i'm bringing with me so i started um the or just wicked fox on wednesday and i really really liked it i read just under 50 pages yeah on page 46 so that's definitely my primary read on the plane and at the airport on the way there i'm also obviously bringing my ebook city of blades which i did read a bit more of yesterday i read another 50 pages so all in all they're 96 pages down for the read-a-thon um and then i also think i'm going to bring my copy of white hot kiss um by jennifer l armitage just in case for some reason i can't get into wicked fox i can switch over to this um if i want to but i just wanted to quickly show you guys what i plan to bring in my backpack i do really need to finish packing so i think i'm gonna do that now luckily we're only going for literally two days so i only have a few items but it's a little intimidating i don't know if i guys i've told you but i'm going um okay and i went to canada i was invited to go to a movie premiere which is a wild sentence i never thought i would ever utter in my entire life so we get to go to canada and we get to see the movie it's for where'd you go bernadette which i'm so pumped for uh big fan of the director all the actors and actresses in it and obviously it's a really popular book so all of those things make me incredibly interested so we're lucky enough to be invited and we're going to go see that and we have a few fun activities throughout the day as well some of them i can film some of them i can't um but yeah i'm definitely gonna vlog it and i'll also like instagram some stuff about it but it should be really fun and i'm really excited uh and it also it's just nice to have kind of like a weekend away with clay toronto's really not far away from new york city blows my mind everything just feels far away in texas when you move like the east coast there's just so many places you can go nearby it's only like an hour in a 15 minute flight but yeah so i'm super super super pumped so that is what i'm doing this weekend but because of it i need to packing has been a little i don't use the word stressful but i just like what do i wear what do i wear to these things like i'm not prepared for this um but yeah so that's what it is but i've picked out a few like nice summery dresses that i really like and feel like nice and so that's what i've it's what i've packed um oh i guess i should show you my plain ootd this is what i'm wearing on the plane it's the best it's like the stretchiest jumpsuit i love it so much then i just have like a little bandana and i'll wear like a denim jacket but this is what i'm wearing in like sneakers i'm gonna miss you matilda but i'm gonna finish packing get all my books situated and get everything organized and ready to go to go to canada all right i'm all packed i got my backpack all set bye matilda see you on sunday but it is time to head to the airport because in new york it takes forever to get to the airport even if it's only like eight miles away so i'm gonna head out and then hopefully grab a coffee and then i'm gonna sit myself down one of those airport seats that are really uncomfortable why are they so uncomfortable when they know people are going to be sitting there for a long time random thought of the day um but then i'm i'm just gonna read read read read read wicked thoughts actually before i go i want to give you guys my current reading count so we went through uh everything so it's basically just like everything i've read plus wednesday so which is just another 98 pages what an angle but i'm trying to hold my journal open and calculate so as of right now all right so as of right now friday i read almost a thousand pages which i'm really happy about but i definitely want to try to read one whole book this weekend um so get that total maybe up to like 1300 or higher so think of me pray for me i gotta go to the airport though so i'm gonna head out now and i will check in um once i'm in my transport to the place i need to go look who i ran into the airport we're going to the same place 45 minutes apart also i read 60 pages of my book waiting for him so off to a good start hi everyone i have arrived in canada i'm so sorry i didn't vlog but i just got to the hotel and um this is not an understatement this is the nicest hotel i've ever stayed at my entire life um i'm gonna give you a tour because i feel like i need to document this for myself because i don't know if i'll ever be here ever again so i have to document it so when i think back i'll be like was that a dream and they'll be like no that actually happened to you so i'm at the four seasons literally walked in and someone was like can i take your bag and i was like where anyway so let's do it so here's this giant mirror outfit of the days can be done here and then here's like the room yeah first thing is this freestanding bathtub shower oh my god this shower is literally the size oh my gosh there's two oh that's a toilet i thought that was a i was like why are there two showers i just don't know i've never been here before i've never been fancy before but yeah this is the bathtub bathrooms i can't wait definitely taking a bath um and then there's also the room which is just so beautiful and like doesn't that bed look so inviting um a little living room and most excitingly i also came in to a little like gift bag of stuff so i'm here for the where'd you go bernadette film um which i believe i've already mentioned and i came in and they had a custom bathrobe which clearly they knew i want to take a bath because look at this detox bath and then they also have the film version of the book here where'd you go reagan which this is just i don't even know who i am right now this is just incredible i'm gonna sit for a minute and just kind of maybe put this bathrobe on and like stare out into space and just try to fathom like who i am and where i'm at and i'm so excited to be here um i actually did read so much on the plane so i'll also chat to you guys about that but like i think i just want to put my pjs on and just sit in my room in the four seasons hi i'm back with more coherent thoughts i wanted to talk about reading because that is what this vlog is about after all reading and i'm really happy to say i was able to read a lot on the plane and in the airport i'm currently on page 262 of this so i read over 200 pages and so i'm very very pleased i'm actually loving this book so much so i was kind of on the fence of starting it because i kind of had mixed reviews some people really liked it some people didn't obviously hence the mixed part but my friend monica read and really loved it and when she was describing it to me she said it kind of reminded her of like well not kind of it definitely reminded her of like a k drama which the author refers to but also she said in anime and i see that 100 there's something about it that's like so effective in that there are some like really ridiculous tropes but it works because of how it's written and you can just see the influence and it plays in my head like a k drama or like an anime and i'm a huge fan of both of those things so i'm really loving this book a lot i'm talking like there are some dramatic things like there's pretty much insta-love but like i don't care there's like subtle romance you know in k-dramas where like the littlest thing can happen and you're on the edge of your seat that's the kind of romance here again normally would drive me crazy no not the case here at all also the korean folklore is fascinating and so richly done and the modern soul setting is amazing also a lot of it takes place in a school a school setting which i'm obsessed with just obsessed um so yeah all in all i can say i'm more than halfway through this book and i'm really liking it a lot so i'm really happy with that and i read a chunk of this so quickly um i might try to read some more tonight obviously i have a really busy day tomorrow but i should have some time to read in the morning and also in the evening so i'm gonna definitely take advantage and then sunday is travel and just reading i find planes the perfect place to absolutely focus in and zero in on reading because there's nowhere you can go you can either sit there and stare out into space or read so i read yeah really happy with how much i've read so far today i'm really happy with this book love it and i'm so happy i ended up picking this up because i was like skeptical but i'm loving it it's kind of similar i mean these books are not similar at all but i had kind of and this might be jumping the gun of it but when i read three dark crowns it also had mixed reviews and i was obsessed with it so i'm kind of curious if this is gonna be like another underdog situation where i was skeptical but then i just realized everyone was wrong who didn't like it um but yes so i am going to get into pajamas now and i think i'm going to order room service for clay and i um because clay just landed in toronto so he will be taking a cab and i'll probably see him in like an hour or so because he has to go through customs and all that jazz but i just wanted to check in and let you know how much i was able to read because i'm pretty jazzed about it look who landed clayton and also food game wow what a great moment good morning everyone um clay and i have just been up getting ready we do have the head down to go do all of the activities for today we have fixer upper on because of course and i'm happy to say i did get some reading in this morning um we i read a total of i want to say 30 or so pages i will have a bit more time to read after the stuff um there's like a bit of a break midday so i'm gonna try to read some more then otherwise i'm gonna try to read a lot tonight i definitely want to take a bath so i'm gonna do some bathtub reading but i do have to get changed but i wanted to check in and say hello and i'm definitely gonna bring you along today so hang tight so i thought i would show you guys an ootd of what i'm wearing to lunch um so i'm just wearing this green dress it's from faithful to brand i picked it up earlier this year makes me feel special so i thought it would give me the power of confidence for today and then i was wearing a jean jacket some sandal heels casual but summery you know the drill um and then i'll have to change again for cocktail hour tonight yes cocktail hour oh yeah at the cn tower for lunch play is scared of heights so this is going to be interesting but very exciting we are in the screening room so cool it's like a mini movie theater chairs even recline it's a grand old time we have venture to little italy in toronto and now we're getting dinner and then i'm gonna go back and do all the reading hi everyone clay and i are back from dinner um and wow what a wild day what a wild night to say that i never expected this kind of thing in my life as an understatement don't worry i was so painfully awkward i got a picture with kate blanchett and the whole cast of the movie and i was so awkward i did not know what to do with my hands i was like dripping behind their back do i put them in front like what are the rules here so um it was so amazing though there was a q a like everyone was so nice you just forget that thunder yeah i guess it's hard to like associate some people who are like so talented or in movies and stuff but they are just at the end of the day people too um anyway it was so incredible but now that i'm home home back in the hotel i think i'm going to take a bath in that amazing bathtub shown earlier with my epsom salts and a face mask and i'm going to read apparently started storming outside just as we started filming so that's great ambiance but yeah i think i'm going to unwind and definitely get some solid reading in tonight um as it stands i'm on page um 278 so i did read about 30-ish pages this morning but i'm definitely going to try to read a good chunk of the way more and maybe i'll be able to uh finish it tonight which would be amazing if not definitely on the plane tomorrow and then i can start my fourth book of the readathon which is just shocking to me i would not expect to read this much but i'm really really proud of myself but i'm gonna go start my bath and take a bath i'm so pumped it's happening i'm so excited and i just can't head it i am reading in bed just past the 300 page mark my bath was absolutely glorious but now my body is like so rested i had to go lie down so i'm gonna read this and then go to bed wake up early for our flight tomorrow good morning everyone uh clay and i are about to head to the airport to fly back to new york city unfortunately i did fall asleep while reading last night and i didn't complete this book but i am on page 3 20 of 4 20. so i only have about 10 100 pages left so i should 100 be able to finish that between the airport and my flight which is super exciting so when i get home i can pick up another book to read which i am just so shocked and pleased about um again really really enjoying this book i wish i didn't pass out while reading it i think that epson salt bath got me good last night i finished that bath and i literally was a zombie like the walking dead my muscles were so calm but then i just couldn't move ever again but um 100 so pumped to finish this on the plane and then i'll give you a page update once i'm back in new york city and can sit down and do all the calculations um in my notebook so i will check in but we do have to head to the airport we are in the airport i got a coffee i'm gonna start reading clay's gonna go look for some food and keep me posted but it's all about the pages everyone time to get to it and the caffeine back in new york city as you can tell by the view what are we ordering in now i have changed into a new outfit because i'm going to quickly film one video and then i will sit down give you guys my thoughts on wicked fox which i did finish on the plane which is super exciting and also just give you the most up-to-date page count it is sunday the very last day of the readathon and i'm going to start my fourth book today which i will also reveal um but i want to film first and then i'll come back in but i just wanted to let you know what's the haps got all the tripod set up where is it haha there it is and uh i also think clayton are going to watch the van of brothers today so it's going to be a really nice relaxing evening but filming first finished filming clay is watching videos of alligators is that right clay they're so goofy looking they climb and they run they're like it's wild but they're dangerous they yes your first alligators are dangerous um i thought i would check in and give you guys my thoughts one on wicked fox and two talk about the next book i'm going to read because so excited to say i did finish wicked fox on the plane in fact i finished it basically right after we took off so i was actually able to read more of city of blades um the flight wasn't that long so i only read about 50 how many i wrote it down 52 pages 54 pages of city of blades but first my thoughts so wicked fox i ended up really liking i really want to reiterate over and over again that this book is super dramatic but for some reason the tropes and the heavy use of drama does not bother me because it just read like kind of a k drama or an anime in my head it just really worked so well with the plot like there were some truly dramatic things that happened in this story but it just felt part of the course like it didn't bother me in fact i was like super invested gasping left and right i also just really enjoyed both of the main characters i thought they were adorable their romance is kind of present throughout this entire story but it's like really sweet and subtle which i think is sometimes a nice change of course from some of the why romances you sometimes read or i sometimes read on top of that i think i've mentioned a lot that i really liked the magic i thought it was really interesting and uh the the concepts of korean folklore i thought were really well used and really intertwined in super cool ways i also like that the story felt very contained like i think there's going to be more but that doesn't mean you don't feel like you didn't get a full story like i feel like i got a full plot scenario and then i'm just excited to see how it's going to like continue to expand and extend side characters were also great i thought there was wonderful moments of friendship there's also a character that kind of reminds me of magnus bane which is all i'll say about that like he was obviously great um and there was also so many scenes with food that made me so hungry everything sounded red to be so delicious that i wanted it all but yeah i just really enjoyed this book so much uh super entertaining i flew through it i definitely would give this like a four out of five stars and would recommend definitely would pick the next book up in this series and we'll check more things out from this author but that means i have read this book was uh 424 pages so in total so far for the readathon i've read 1351 pages which i'm super jazzed about and i'm about to pick up my fourth book which i've decided to be harry potter in the chamber of secrets uh i think i've mentioned a few times throughout the course of this vlog but i just want to read harry potter so i'm caving i'm letting myself read the next book in the series so that is what i plan to read uh throughout tonight i'm not gonna lie i am gonna read and i'm gonna try to read as much as i can but at the same time i'm just gonna kind of relax on this sunday i need to organize the apartment and do some other things so i'm definitely gonna read but i'm really enjoying it obviously but i just wanted to give you an update of how much i've read quick reading update i have officially read over 100 pages of harry potter which means i'm almost at the 1500 page mark i am gonna take a break and eat dinner clay went and picked us up sandwiches so i think we're going to eat those and maybe watch some band of brothers and hang out on the couch clay has been working um but i think he's about wrapped up so we should be able to enjoy some time together and then i'll probably do a bit more reading and then go to bed because then it'll be monday but i just here's like the room yeah first thing is this freestanding bathtub shower oh my god this shower is literally the size oh my gosh there's two oh that's a toilet i thought that was a i was like why are there two showers i just don't know i've never been here before i've never been fancy before but yeah this is the bathtub bathrooms i can't wait definitely taking a bath um and then there's also the room which is just so beautiful and like doesn't that bed look so inviting um a little living room and most excitingly i also came in to a little like gift bag of stuff so i'm here for the where'd you go bernadette film um which i believe i've already mentioned and i came in and they had a custom bathrobe which clearly they knew i want to take a bath because look at this detox bath and then they also have the film version of the book here where'd you go reagan which this is just i don't even know who i am right now this is just incredible i'm gonna sit for a minute and just kind of maybe put this bathrobe on and like stare out into space and just try to fathom like who i am and where i'm at and i'm so excited to be here um i actually did read so much on the plane so i'll also chat to you guys about that but like i think i just want to put my pjs on and just sit in my room in the four seasons hi i'm back with more coherent thoughts i wanted to talk about reading because that is what this vlog is about after all reading and i'm really happy to say i was able to read a lot on the plane and in the airport i'm currently on page 262 of this so i read over 200 pages and so i'm very very pleased i'm actually loving this book so much so i was kind of on the fence of starting it because i kind of had mixed reviews some people really liked it some people didn't obviously hence the mixed part but my friend monica read and really loved it and when she was describing it to me she said it kind of reminded her of like well not kind of it definitely reminded her of like a k drama which the author refers to but also she said in anime and i see that 100 there's something about it that's like so effective in that there are some like really ridiculous tropes but it works because of how it's written and you can just see the influence and it plays in my head like a k drama or like an anime and i'm a huge fan of both of those things so i'm really loving this book a lot i'm talking like there are some dramatic things like there's pretty much insta-love but like i don't care there's like subtle romance you know in k-dramas where like the littlest thing can happen and you're on the edge of your seat that's the kind of romance here again normally would drive me crazy no not the case here at all also the korean folklore is fascinating and so richly done and the modern soul setting is amazing also a lot of it takes place in a school a school setting which i'm obsessed with just obsessed um so yeah all in all i can say i'm more than halfway through this book and i'm really liking it a lot so i'm really happy with that and i read a chunk of this so quickly um i might try to read some more tonight obviously i have a really busy day tomorrow but i should have some time to read in the morning and also in the evening so i'm gonna definitely take advantage and then sunday is travel and just reading i find planes the perfect place to absolutely focus in and zero in on reading because there's nowhere you can go you can either sit there and stare out into space or read so i read yeah really happy with how much i've read so far today i'm really happy with this book love it and i'm so happy i ended up picking this up because i was like skeptical but i'm loving it it's kind of similar i mean these books are not similar at all but i had kind of and this might be jumping the gun of it but when i read three dark crowns it also had mixed reviews and i was obsessed with it so i'm kind of curious if this is gonna be like another underdog situation where i was skeptical but then i just realized everyone was wrong who didn't like it um but yes so i am going to get into pajamas now and i think i'm going to order room service for clay and i um because clay just landed in toronto so he will be taking a cab and i'll probably see him in like an hour or so because he has to go through customs and all that jazz but i just wanted to check in and let you know how much i was able to read because i'm pretty jazzed about it look who landed clayton and also food game wow what a great moment good morning everyone um clay and i have just been up getting ready we do have the head down to go do all of the activities for today we have fixer upper on because of course and i'm happy to say i did get some reading in this morning um we i read a total of i want to say 30 or so pages i will have a bit more time to read after the stuff um there's like a bit of a break midday so i'm gonna try to read some more then otherwise i'm gonna try to read a lot tonight i definitely want to take a bath so i'm gonna do some bathtub reading but i do have to get changed but i wanted to check in and say hello and i'm definitely gonna bring you along today so hang tight so i thought i would show you guys an ootd of what i'm wearing to lunch um so i'm just wearing this green dress it's from faithful to brand i picked it up earlier this year makes me feel special so i thought it would give me the power of confidence for today and then i was wearing a jean jacket some sandal heels casual but summery you know the drill um and then i'll have to change again for cocktail hour tonight yes cocktail hour oh yeah at the cn tower for lunch play is scared of heights so this is going to be interesting but very exciting we are in the screening room so cool it's like a mini movie theater chairs even recline it's a grand old time we have venture to little italy in toronto and now we're getting dinner and then i'm gonna go back and do all the reading hi everyone clay and i are back from dinner um and wow what a wild day what a wild night to say that i never expected this kind of thing in my life as an understatement don't worry i was so painfully awkward i got a picture with kate blanchett and the whole cast of the movie and i was so awkward i did not know what to do with my hands i was like dripping behind their back do i put them in front like what are the rules here so um it was so amazing though there was a q a like everyone was so nice you just forget that thunder yeah i guess it's hard to like associate some people who are like so talented or in movies and stuff but they are just at the end of the day people too um anyway it was so incredible but now that i'm home home back in the hotel i think i'm going to take a bath in that amazing bathtub shown earlier with my epsom salts and a face mask and i'm going to read apparently started storming outside just as we started filming so that's great ambiance but yeah i think i'm going to unwind and definitely get some solid reading in tonight um as it stands i'm on page um 278 so i did read about 30-ish pages this morning but i'm definitely going to try to read a good chunk of the way more and maybe i'll be able to uh finish it tonight which would be amazing if not definitely on the plane tomorrow and then i can start my fourth book of the readathon which is just shocking to me i would not expect to read this much but i'm really really proud of myself but i'm gonna go start my bath and take a bath i'm so pumped it's happening i'm so excited and i just can't head it i am reading in bed just past the 300 page mark my bath was absolutely glorious but now my body is like so rested i had to go lie down so i'm gonna read this and then go to bed wake up early for our flight tomorrow good morning everyone uh clay and i are about to head to the airport to fly back to new york city unfortunately i did fall asleep while reading last night and i didn't complete this book but i am on page 3 20 of 4 20. so i only have about 10 100 pages left so i should 100 be able to finish that between the airport and my flight which is super exciting so when i get home i can pick up another book to read which i am just so shocked and pleased about um again really really enjoying this book i wish i didn't pass out while reading it i think that epson salt bath got me good last night i finished that bath and i literally was a zombie like the walking dead my muscles were so calm but then i just couldn't move ever again but um 100 so pumped to finish this on the plane and then i'll give you a page update once i'm back in new york city and can sit down and do all the calculations um in my notebook so i will check in but we do have to head to the airport we are in the airport i got a coffee i'm gonna start reading clay's gonna go look for some food and keep me posted but it's all about the pages everyone time to get to it and the caffeine back in new york city as you can tell by the view what are we ordering in clay usa we're home bravo's on matilda's here mcdonald's is here it's the best afternoon ever hi friends i'm been home for about an hour we ate i took a bit of a break took a bit of a bravo break but now i have changed into a new outfit because i'm going to quickly film one video and then i will sit down give you guys my thoughts on wicked fox which i did finish on the plane which is super exciting and also just give you the most up-to-date page count it is sunday the very last day of the readathon and i'm going to start my fourth book today which i will also reveal um but i want to film first and then i'll come back in but i just wanted to let you know what's the haps got all the tripod set up where is it haha there it is and uh i also think clayton are going to watch the van of brothers today so it's going to be a really nice relaxing evening but filming first finished filming clay is watching videos of alligators is that right clay they're so goofy looking they climb and they run they're like it's wild but they're dangerous they yes your first alligators are dangerous um i thought i would check in and give you guys my thoughts one on wicked fox and two talk about the next book i'm going to read because so excited to say i did finish wicked fox on the plane in fact i finished it basically right after we took off so i was actually able to read more of city of blades um the flight wasn't that long so i only read about 50 how many i wrote it down 52 pages 54 pages of city of blades but first my thoughts so wicked fox i ended up really liking i really want to reiterate over and over again that this book is super dramatic but for some reason the tropes and the heavy use of drama does not bother me because it just read like kind of a k drama or an anime in my head it just really worked so well with the plot like there were some truly dramatic things that happened in this story but it just felt part of the course like it didn't bother me in fact i was like super invested gasping left and right i also just really enjoyed both of the main characters i thought they were adorable their romance is kind of present throughout this entire story but it's like really sweet and subtle which i think is sometimes a nice change of course from some of the why romances you sometimes read or i sometimes read on top of that i think i've mentioned a lot that i really liked the magic i thought it was really interesting and uh the the concepts of korean folklore i thought were really well used and really intertwined in super cool ways i also like that the story felt very contained like i think there's going to be more but that doesn't mean you don't feel like you didn't get a full story like i feel like i got a full plot scenario and then i'm just excited to see how it's going to like continue to expand and extend side characters were also great i thought there was wonderful moments of friendship there's also a character that kind of reminds me of magnus bane which is all i'll say about that like he was obviously great um and there was also so many scenes with food that made me so hungry everything sounded red to be so delicious that i wanted it all but yeah i just really enjoyed this book so much uh super entertaining i flew through it i definitely would give this like a four out of five stars and would recommend definitely would pick the next book up in this series and we'll check more things out from this author but that means i have read this book was uh 424 pages so in total so far for the readathon i've read 1351 pages which i'm super jazzed about and i'm about to pick up my fourth book which i've decided to be harry potter in the chamber of secrets uh i think i've mentioned a few times throughout the course of this vlog but i just want to read harry potter so i'm caving i'm letting myself read the next book in the series so that is what i plan to read uh throughout tonight i'm not gonna lie i am gonna read and i'm gonna try to read as much as i can but at the same time i'm just gonna kind of relax on this sunday i need to organize the apartment and do some other things so i'm definitely gonna read but i'm gonna also need to prioritize like getting my life together on this sunday before going back to work tomorrow but i've had so much fun during this reading rush i had so much fun in canada um so yeah i'll definitely try to join another readathon soon i'm actually like really pleased with my progress and i ended up reading a lot so just wanted to check in and give you guys an update and i'm going to start harry potter now so yay harry potter hi everyone i've retreated into the bedroom because i'm officially going to start harry potter in the chamber of secrets right now as we speak doing it um as i said right now and i think later tonight clayton are going to watch some band of brothers but i do want to get some reading in before i fall into a possible tv hole so i'm gonna get started and i will keep you posted with how much i've read maybe i can read 1500 pages this whole read-a-thon that would be so exciting honestly i'm just really jazzed i finished three books my goal was two books so i exceeded my own expectations which i obviously thought were not realistic to begin with so i'm honestly shocked but okay i'm going to get to reading we'll check it hi friends just wanted to do a quick check in i am now on chapter five the whomping willow chapter and i've read 56 pages of the illustrated edition i don't know what that means in the actual book so i'll do that at the end but i just wanted to give you a quick update i love this book so much i love the first one obviously but i think it might be like my least favorite like in the whole series which is saying something because i obviously love all the books but as you kind of move along i'd say like two three and four have the most like sweet hogwarts moments um so it's just so nice like i love that they spend time with the burrow and the illustrations are so cool and they're about to go see the loving willow i also remember seeing this movie in theaters at like a birthday party when i was like 11 or something um which was a fun time like i distinctly remember having like those kids mule boxes at the movie theater like one watching this movie with the big tarantulas uh but anywhose i am going to get back to it really enjoying it obviously but i just wanted to give you an update of how much i've read quick reading update i have officially read over 100 pages of harry potter which means i'm almost at the 1500 page mark i am gonna take a break and eat dinner clay went and picked us up sandwiches so i think we're going to eat those and maybe watch some band of brothers and hang out on the couch clay has been working um but i think he's about wrapped up so we should be able to enjoy some time together and then i'll probably do a bit more reading and then go to bed because then it'll be monday but i just wanted to give you the update eating our sandwiches and watching band of brothers not band of pugs hi everyone and welcome to of this last night a little less than i was kind of hoping but clay and i watched band of brothers which was really good so that ended up taking a little more of my time um but yeah i'm actually super pleased with how much i was able to read last week all in all i completed three books and started a fourth one which is just like the best reading week i've had in a long time i read 1455 pages which i'm also super super jazzed about it honestly is like made me very um inspired to maybe challenge myself to more readathons i haven't done a 24-hour readathon in a long time just because timing hasn't really lined up but if i ever have like a day off soon like maybe for labor day i'll be able to to squeeze that in um so i think yeah that sounds like a good idea but yeah loving chamber of secrets reread of harry potter is definitely going to happen this year it just it just feels like coming home but yeah i really liked everything i read during this readathon as well and yeah i hope you guys
