The Unusual Drag Race: A Tale of Four Capable Off-Roaders

Hello everyone, it's Matt here from Kar-Wai, and I've got a bit of an unusual drag race for you today. I've got four capable off-roaders lined up, but we're not going off-road – we're going to race them over the standing quarter mile. To my left is a Land Rover Discovery, next to it is a Toyota Land Cruiser, followed by a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, and lastly, a VW Amarok. I've got a 2-liter diesel engine with 4 horsepower under the hood, while my competitors boast more impressive engines.

The Toyota Land Cruiser has a 2.8-liter diesel engine producing 177 horsepower and 415 Newton meters of torque. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has a 2.2-liter diesel engine churning out 200 horsepower and 415 Newton meters of torque. And the VW Amarok, with its three-liter V6 engine, packs an impressive 258 horsepower and 580 Newton meters of torque. It's going to be an interesting race, to say the least.

It seems I've got a good start, and my 4-horsepower engine is struggling to keep up.

As we hit the quarter-mile mark, it becomes clear that the VW Amarok has taken the lead. Its V6 engine is pulling away from the pack, leaving me in second place with the Land Cruiser following closely behind. Meanwhile, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is lagging behind, and the Toyota Land Cruiser brings up the rear. It's a bit of a disappointing result for my friends in the back.

Now that we've completed the quarter-mile dash, I'd like to put these cars through a series of tests to see how they perform under different conditions. We'll start by rolling off at 50 miles per hour and shifting into normal drive mode. It takes a while for the Amarok's engine to kick down, but once it does, it pulls away from the pack.

Next, we'll hit 70 miles per hour and come to a full stop as quickly as possible. This will test their braking capabilities. The VW Amarok is still in the lead, but I'm closing in on its heels. It's going to be a tight competition, folks! In the end, it seems that the VW's V6 engine has given me some extra oomph when it comes to braking.

Rubicon I think the Landry's have got absolutely destroyed so then what exactly happened well the Volkswagen was completing the standards mile in sixteen point five seconds the line driver came second with a time of seventeen point two seconds third place went to the Jeep which crossed the line in eighteen point one seconds and despite a good start the poor old Toyota came last with a time of nineteen point three seconds now we're gonna have a rolling grace from fifty miles an hour we're all into normal drive comfort mode and account it in and then we're gonna go three two one floor it all it took a while to kick down head up first but then the Amarok once again pulling away v6 come on down they should have given us the force and in the car but there we go it's all done once again land cruiser is dropped finally we're gonna have a break test from 70 miles an hour when we reach the line full emergency stop when I see what happens all these caused by about the same between two point one and two point two terms anyway here comes the line Freight just destroyed everyone and I can't blame its three liter v6 engine for that now can I I think the Jeep was second just beat this discovery was the line cruisin everybody shape or form but watching it break was really it was kinda like bucking under braking anyway I hope you enjoyed this video it was just a little bit of fun
