**Apple Announces New 5K iMac with Stunning Display**
When Apple announced their new 5K iMac at their event in Cupertino, it looked gorgeous in person. The anticipation was palpable as fans and tech enthusiasts waited to get their hands on this sleek and powerful machine. As we unboxed our own unit, we couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity about what this new iMac had to offer.
**Unboxing and First Impressions**
As we carefully removed the packaging, we were greeted by a layer of styrofoam that protected the device from any damage during shipping. We gently removed each piece of foam, taking care not to knock anything over or break anything. The power cord was another exciting aspect of this unboxing experience. With three prongs and three holes on one side, it looked like a unique and innovative design choice. We plugged it in and waited for the iMac to turn on.
**The Display: A Showstopper**
As we removed the final layer of packaging, we were finally able to see the 5K display in all its glory. To our surprise, it didn't look as dramatic or eye-catching as we had expected. The screen was more plastic-like in appearance, with a subtle texture that seemed to disappear once the monitor was turned on. We carefully removed the protective covering and was left with a gleaming 5120 x 2880 display. It was clear that this iMac was designed to be a visual treat, but we couldn't help but feel a little underwhelmed by its appearance.
**The Inside: A Treasure Trove of Features**
Once we removed the plastic covering, we were greeted by a treasure trove of features and ports. The power button, microphone, and Gigabit Ethernet port were all present and accounted for. We also spotted two Thunderbolt 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, an SD card slot, and a headphone jack. But what really caught our attention was the RAM upgrade option, which allowed users to upgrade their memory up to 64GB. With four slots available, it seemed like this iMac was designed with heavy users in mind.
**Putting it Through its Paces**
With the iMac finally turned on, we were eager to put it through its paces and see how it performed. We started by testing the display's resolution and color accuracy, but unfortunately, our expectations were somewhat tempered by YouTube's compression algorithm. While the 5K display looked stunning in our own environment, we couldn't help but feel that it was being limited by the way it was displayed.
**A Final Word**
In conclusion, while the new 5K iMac may not have blown us away with its appearance or performance, it is undoubtedly a beautiful and powerful machine. With its impressive display, sleek design, and generous feature set, it's clear that Apple has outdone themselves once again. We can't wait to see how this iMac performs in real-world applications, but for now, we're just happy to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing device.

have inside here as long as i've got this open let's see what else we got uh we've got a cleaning cloth and some materials in there you can also get this of course with the magic mouse if you want and that is that but that's not the exciting part that's been around for quite a while this is what i want to see so i've got some styrofoam protecting it i can't take a look at this guy when apple uh announced it at their event in cupertino and it looked gorgeous in person so hopefully it looks as gorgeous in this office so i can use it uh let's see go ahead and pull this out it's always trickier than it looks to unbox one of these things one piece of styrofoam done i don't knock that over and another piece of styrofoam done that one was much more elegant hidden inside of this one we've got the power cord very exciting power cord it's got three prongs and it's got three holes on that side plugged into the back pretty unique power cord um we've got that's to be about it i'll go ahead and pull this off and i'll get it out of here and i'll get the box out of the way bye box you go on the floor it's where you live alright so now we can open this sucker up go ahead and pull off sort of paper felt material here and this will probably be the one time that i don't have gross stains or fingerprints on the monitor let's see what all them k's look like doesn't look like anything with the screen off more plastic all right let's go and take off this plastic i should have mentioned that these are available in store already they're available the same day although they couldn't really find gigantic whooshy noise i always love that on smartphones this is just a big screen let's see it see it yeah it wasn't as dramatic as i would have hoped it was more of a giant crumpling nice all right we got all that business done here is the imac and with the screen off it looks kinda like the old generation imac let's go ahead and take a look at its booty hi booty uh you've got the power button you've got a microphone this is all where all of your ir stuff is going to live all right so you've got your gigabit ethernet of course you've got 8211 ac in here you've got two thunderbolt 2.0 ports we have because i can count one two three four uh usb 3.0 ports sd card slot and there is the headphone out back here uh is where you want to upgrade your ram i believe there are four slots and that's where your power is going to plug in and then of course the apple logo but that it's not really the exciting part let's go ahead and plug it in and see what it looks like all right so we've got this all turned on haven't moved over any files i'm going to start this guy up from scratch and it looks really really nice i think the big test is gonna be once you start editing videos on it once you start looking at images and start looking at four or five k video then you start to see really difference other than that it looks like a really nice display if you look at maybe a qhd screen on a phone versus a good 1080p screen not that giant difference uh if you guys were thinking about maybe picking up one of the entry level 5k imax use it as a monitor because you know 5k monitors cost usually more than 2500 bucks entry price uh it's not going to work unfortunately so you can't use this as an external monitor but you can of course use an external monitor with this so just a little bit of a tidbit of course we'll use it we'll test it i'll see how it performs of course put that gorgeous 5k display to good use unfortunately though from filming it to youtube to youtube's compression to whatever screen you're watching you're not really going see what the full 5k display looks like but take it from me it does look really nice so of course we're gonna have a ton more coverage on the new 5k imac anything you guys want to see in particular let us know we'll see what pictures video games and what kind of stuff look like on the display until next time i'm jon
