Apple HomeKit USB Smart LED Light Strip

**A Hands-On Review of Coogy LED Strip: Smart Home Integration and Features**

As I recently began using Apple HomeKit on my Philips Hue lights, I was eager to explore other smart home options. That's when I stumbled upon the Coogy LED strip, a USB-powered device that promised to bring seamless integration with various voice assistants. In this article, I'll delve into my hands-on experience with the Coogy LED strip, covering its performance, features, and potential drawbacks.

**Siri and Apple HomeKit Integration: A Surprisingly Smooth Experience**

I've always been curious about Siri's capabilities in smart home applications. After setting up the Coogy LED strip and activating Siri, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly it responded to my commands. With just a few seconds of latency, Siri turned on and off the LED strip with ease. This performance is comparable to Amazon Echo, which often takes multiple seconds longer to respond to voice commands. To demonstrate this, I performed a live demo of turning the lights on and off using Siri, showcasing its responsiveness.

**Philips Hue Integration: A Seamless Experience**

As part of my Apple HomeKit setup, I seamlessly integrated the Coogy LED strip with Philips Hue. This integration allowed me to control the strip from within the Philips Hue app, making it easy to adjust colors, set schedules, and monitor the strip's status. The Coogy app also offers a similar experience, allowing users to fine-tune color settings, brightness, and more.

**The Coogy App: A User-Friendly Experience**

The Coogy app is an intuitive platform that allows users to customize their LED strip's behavior. With features like color temperature adjustment, color wheel control, and scheduling, it's easy to find a balance between style and functionality. The app also offers a dedicated section for controlling the LED strip using Apple HomeKit, making it simple to integrate with other smart home devices.

**Adhesive Concerns and Color Cycling Mode**

Unfortunately, I've encountered an issue with the adhesive that comes pre-installed with the Coogy LED strip. After two days of use, the strip started peeling off, leaving me wondering about the long-term durability of this device. While the manufacturer didn't disclose the adhesive's quality on the packaging, it's essential to note that this can be a concern for some users.

In terms of features, I was disappointed to find that there isn't an option to enable color cycling modes or effects within the app. The ability to cycle through multiple colors with varying brightness levels would add a new layer of excitement to this LED strip. However, this is not a deal-breaker, as the Coogy strip still offers an impressive range of features and customization options.

**Conclusion: A Solid Choice for Smart Home Enthusiasts**

In conclusion, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Coogy LED strip's performance, integration capabilities, and overall value. Its seamless integration with Siri and Apple HomeKit is a major advantage, making it easy to control this smart device using voice commands or through the Philips Hue app. While there are some concerns about the adhesive quality and the lack of color cycling modes, these issues don't detract from my enthusiasm for this product.

As I continue to use the Coogy LED strip, I'm excited to explore its full potential and share any updates or insights with my audience. With its impressive feature set, sleek design, and compatibility with various voice assistants, I highly recommend considering this device for your smart home setup.

blue purple pink pretty dope LED strip if you ask me pretty bright actually is like very - USB powered apple homekit you know so the one thing I am confused about is why it does not support Amazon echo but apple homekit works for me as you know it's very easy to access stuff and you know turn things on and off via apple homekit you know can't complain Apple honk it's pretty cool but if you have a Google home you can control this via voice you know that's pretty cool right now because this is going to be stuck onto the back of this monitor we have - I'm gonna probably flip the monitor around stick it on nicely and yeah we'll have some ambient lighting behind the monitor and how heavy this monitor is ah right so we have the bank euchre monitor it's a it is brand-new as well I've not really finished taking off all the oh the plastic pieces here just about here looks perfect to be honest make sure you know a cable manager very nicely so it's like a little cutout here at the bottom of the monitor stand you can route cables through there there we go wasn't right so I've been using this LED strip for quite a few days now and so far it's been great can't complain you know it's a pretty cool LED strip USB powered all that good stuff however one thing that really quite surprised me is how well it works with Siri now I never really use Siri I just tend to use my hands and echo and that's it really for voice commands and you know I never use Siri but as it does work with apple homekit and I've recently just began using apple homekit on my philips hue lights and stuff I never used Siri though however yesterday I randomly tried to you know turn the lights on and off with Siri and I was really quite surprised how fast Siri can like you know execute the command in comparison to let's say like an Amazon echo which is multiple times slower it feels like so I'm gonna give you a live demo of how fast Siri really is hey Siri turn off monitor that's pretty quick right hey Siri turn on monitor hey Siri set monitor to green Siri is really fast all right so I have a Philips you only these strip mounted behind my desk there and I'm gonna turn it on be a Siri hey Siri turn on desk lights pretty quick right Alexa turn off desk lights see that took a little bit longer they're a little bit longer hey Siri turn on desk lights hey Siri turn off desk lights that's there's like hardly any delay there but with Amazon echo navi's mine's an echo for a long time the latency there is pretty much of like every kind of smart home device ready it's always that little bit slower but Siri I never used however for apple homekit the integration there there's almost no latency it works really well this LED strip does also come with its own dedicated app called coogy comped they can download on iOS and Android and there you go we have monitor at the very bottom here though I can turn on and off if we press on it just like that we can change the colors up so we allocate color temperature thing so we can set it's like a warm white or a very cool white we also have the color wheel that everyone likes so much so we can you know mess around with the color here set it to whatever we want really but you can also do this exact same thing in apple homekit just by going on here and then you have your little color wheel right here so it all works very well you know the kooky cap is very similar to aqua home kid in my opinion and it pretty much just allows you to like adjust the color and stuff so that's pretty much it about the actual app that the emini suit comes with however one thing I did notice and I've had this stuck on to the monitor for I think two days now and are already the LED strip is beginning to peel off so when I have to probably get some more adhesive to keep it in place but the adhesive I thought it was good but turns out it ain't that good it's been like two days and it's already beginning to peel off which you know isn't a good sign turns out this USB powered LED strip from coogy actually does support Amazon echo they just don't really tell you it supports Amazon action on the box I don't know why they don't do that surely you'd want to let your customers know that it supports Google home apple homekit and Amazon echo but for some reason they chose not to which is kind of weird in my opinion but yeah it is actually a really good LED strip now that I know that it works with Amazon echo your Google home and apple homekit and Siri Wow I don't really have much of anything that can plane about now I guess it's a really good LED strip USB powered 2 minutes long this may be the best USB powered LED strip out there just because it supports you know all these various voice assistants which is pretty good the one thing that I think they could improve on and I'm sure it's very possible to actually add this feature is add some kind of like cool mode so that you can choose for the LED strip one feature I wish they would add to this LED strip is some kind of cool like color cycling mode just something as simple as the spectrum cycle will do as the LED strip could then cycle through a bunch of colors and I think it'll be a cool feature unfortunately there's no way to enable some kind of cool effects or cool effect on this LED strip at all you can really just set it to one color and that's it but the cool thing is like I said it does support all these assistants and you know you have so many ways of controlling it especially if you have an iPhone as well and you have Siri apple homekit those work really well by far the best integration I guess with smart home stuff is Siri and apple homekit it just works so quick there's no delay which is really good but apart from all that if you're wondering whether or not I would actually recommend this LED strip the answer is yes and there's a good chance I will be buying more of them and they supports all the assistance so I'm very happy about that so thank you sending me this LED strip I appreciate it and apart from that thank you for watching and hope to see you in another video soon goodbyehello your honor man walking might eat a clock today we have finally hit
