MagSafe iPhone Charger - ESR HaloLock Magnetic Kickstand Wireless Charger Review

Product Review: ESR Halo Lock Kickstand Wireless Charger

As I begin this review, I want to emphasize that I received the ESR Halo Lock Kickstand Wireless Charger as a gift from the company, along with several other products. In exchange for receiving these products, I agreed to provide an honest review of the charger and retain full editorial control over the content.

Upon opening the box, we find a small instruction manual and a card that helps identify the correct charging brick. The kit also includes a USBC to USB-C cable, which is useful for compatibility purposes. However, there's no power adapter included in the package. According to ESR, it's assumed that you'll use your own power adapter, which needs to be a Power Delivery (PD) capable USB-C charger. I've brought my own adapter along, as it happens, and I've also included the cable for reference.

The charging port on the side of the kickstand is a clever design feature. It allows you to simply plug in your iPhone and start charging without any fuss. You might wonder why someone would want this compact charger when they already carry around a separate power brick and USB-C cable. While that's a valid point, this charger doubles as a functional kickstand, which can be a game-changer for gamers. The cable coming out from the bottom of the kickstand ensures that your phone sits flat on the table without any cable clutter.

Another advantage of this design is its versatility. In addition to gaming, you can also use the charger to watch movies or browse the web in landscape mode by simply flipping it open. This feature adds a lot of convenience to the overall design.

When it comes to the magnet's strength, we find that it's quite good when your phone doesn't have a case on. However, once we add a case, the magnet's performance is slightly reduced. This is something to be aware of if you plan to use this charger frequently with a protective case. On the plus side, the magnet is strong enough for most users without a case.

ESR has established itself as a reputable brand in the world of wireless charging and accessories. Their products are known for their quality, and it's clear that they've done an excellent job with this kickstand charger. The build quality of this device is impressive, made from high-quality aluminum that feels solid in your hands.

Overall, I'm impressed with the ESR Halo Lock Kickstand Wireless Charger. It's a clever design that combines functionality with convenience. If you're looking for a wireless charging solution that doubles as a kickstand, this might be an excellent option for you. The fact that it's compatible with most USB-C devices, including iPhones, makes it a great choice for users who want to expand their device ecosystem.

In terms of pricing, the ESR Halo Lock Kickstand Wireless Charger retails at around £32 in the UK. If you're interested in purchasing this charger, I've included links to the product in the description below. With its excellent build quality and versatility, it's definitely worth considering for anyone looking to upgrade their wireless charging experience.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eni've got a very quick product review for you today here i have the esr halo lock kickstand wireless charger let's take a look full disclosure esr sent this product over with a bunch of others and i accepted on the basis that i could give an honest review and that i retain full editorial control now in the box we do get a small instruction manual and there's also a card here to help you identify the right charging brick so you get a usbc to usb c cable included in the box but what you don't get is the power adapter the expectation is that you'll use your own you do need to have the right sort of power adapter it needs to be a power delivery capable usbc i think that's 9 volts i have one here as it as it happens and here's the cable you notice there's a charging port just on the side of the kickstand here so it's as simple as plug it in connect your iphone and it's charging now you might think to yourself why would i want this tiny little charger like this if i've got to then also carry around a brick and a cable why not just carry around the charging brick and the cable for the phone and forget the wireless bit and that is a sort of valid point but this does double as the kickstand and because the power cable is coming out to the side here it means that your your phone will sit flat on the table without any fouling from the cable and tom over here has just pointed out to me as well that this might be quite cool for gamers so if you game on your phone you that's going to work out really well because the cable just comes out the bottom so that's actually a fantastic use case so in addition to gaming you might also want to watch a movie on your phone and in that case you could just turn the the kickstand around open it up and it will support your phone in landscape mode as well and that's really neat now you might be wondering how strong the magnet connection is to the back of the device and it's pretty good when you don't have a case on let's just pop the case on erin if you could pass me my my phone case thank you so i'm just using a torrez slim case for my iphone because i got the the big macs version i wanted a slim case which looks really nice so there's not a lot of material between the charger and the phone and it does attach magnetically it does charge once it's attached the magnet is not as strong though once you've got a case on so just be aware of that it's strong enough but there is a difference another reason to have this device comes to mind as well and that is that almost every device that i have takes a usbc charger apart from my iphone uh so that means if i'm carrying around a cable for my iphone it's got to be a lightning cable whereas in this case i can just carry around my usual selection of usbc cables and i can still charge my iphone that's quite cool you might have a situation where you just keep this in your office or by your bed or something like that and then it's just a place to pop your phone of an evening it retails at about 32 pounds in the uk i'll put the exact prices up on the screen and the price is for the usa as well and there'll be links in the description below if you want to get yourself one of these little chargers i think for the price paid the build quality is really nice this is aluminium feels good so it's a nice device and of course you've got such a variety to choose from when it comes to wireless chargers but esr i think have established themselves now as a pretty reputable brand they're the quality of their cases and everything else they do is really good and this charger seems to be no exception to that rule i really like this and i think i'll make use of it so thanks for sending it over esr and thanks to everybody for watching the
