The Excitement of Packing: A Pre-Flight Checklist

As I prepare to embark on this weekend's adventure, I find myself surrounded by my trusty gear from Scottie Best. The excitement is palpable as I carefully select each item that will accompany me on this journey around the world. Or so I plan, at least.

I'm wearing my favorite Scottie Vest tropical jacket once again, and I must say, it's a great choice for a casual weekend getaway. However, if we're being realistic, there are more practical options to consider. My hidden cargo pants are a staple in my wardrobe, but for a real trip around the world, I'll need something a bit more...adventurous. The Scottie Best Travel Pants come to mind – quick-drying and perfect for exploring the great outdoors.

As I dig through my gear, I find myself surrounded by familiar friends from past adventures. Two pairs of Smart Wool socks make an appearance, along with a pair that I'm wearing on my feet today. Glove and another glove are nestled in various pockets, ready to serve their purpose. A waterproof hat is also included, although I'm not sure if it'll be needed this weekend. But hey, you can never be too prepared!

A few random items from my gear kit catch my eye – hand sanitizer, Ex Officio boxers, and a napkin from a recent restaurant visit. It's not every day that you find yourself rummaging through your own gear to get rid of trash, but here we are.

Moving on to the essentials, I have an iPad, Kindle, and various cables and connectors to keep my devices charged. A stylus is always handy for those times when I need to jot down some notes or create something artistic. And speaking of neat finds, I stumbled upon two small containers – one from Sea to Summit with little leaves that lather up in water, the other containing shaving cream.

Clothing-wise, I've got a solid plan in place. Three pairs of undies, three t-shirts, and three pairs of socks will be my go-to attire for the trip. Of course, this means daily laundry duties – not exactly the most glamorous part of travel, but someone's gotta do it!

Toiletries are also well-represented, with a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair gel, razor, and all the usual suspects. My Canon digital camera is attached to a tripod, which will come in handy for capturing those perfect travel moments. And let's not forget the charger – one can never have too much of a good thing!

In the back pocket of my tropical vest, I've stashed a second t-shirt, which I found while rummaging through my other pockets. It makes the jacket just a little too bulky, so it'll do for now. And underneath it all? A Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Vest – perfect for those chilly evenings.

But before we get to the final reveal of my wardrobe choices, let's take a quick peek inside the hidden cargo pants. Ah, yes! I have a notepad, wallet, comb, and a few more random items stashed away in there. It's like a treasure trove of travel essentials!

And finally, it's time to talk about the pièce de résistance – my Echo shoes, which I mentioned briefly earlier. They're a game-changer for anyone looking to upgrade their footwear.

As I prepare to embark on this adventure, I must admit that I'm feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation. Will my gear hold up? Will I forget something essential? Only time will tell! For now, it's off to the airport – or rather, wherever my travels take me next.

thanksgiving and see how well it performs again i'm leaving today on wednesday november 24th i'll be gone at least until saturday so it's going to be four days i may extend the trip by a day or two my kit my travel kit is versatile enough that i'll be able to accommodate the extra time if need be the only exception that i have to what i'm carrying with me right here what is in my clothing right now is i am going to bring a my macbook pro with me normally i would not bring this if i were traveling however i just recently purchased this my brother would like to see it and i told him i'd bring it this weekend so i will be carrying that but with exception of my laptop everything that i have um everything that i bring will fit inside of my scotty vest tropical jacket i've had this jacket for probably a little over a month now i absolutely love it holds tons of stuff it's a very brilliant product i can get into uh some more details of what i think of it i'll try to follow up with a blog post on this but all the gear all the stuff that i'm taking this weekend i am currently wearing again i have the scottie vesta tropical jacket scottie best hidden cargo pants um if we're doing a real trip around the world uh rather than these pants i'll probably get the one their travel pants which is more quick drying but i'll go ahead and get into the stuff that i'm taking with me very similar if you've seen my other videos to what i had proposed before two pairs of smart wool socks as well as a pair that i'm wearing um glove as well as another glove of course in this other pocket um as well as a waterproof hat and i don't think i'm going to need this this weekend but something that was in my gear kit i thought i'd bring some hand sanitizer um two pairs of ex officio boxers um as well as let's see what else do i have in here um i have that other glove in here it seems like i've got some trash to throw away a few napkins from a restaurant i just uh visited as well as stick that's it for that pocket inside i have a ipad as i mentioned before i can use this for blogging for checking on email i have a kindle uh doing a lot of reading right now for my phd program as well as a variety of cables camera connectors etc for charging my ipad my iphone a stylus for the ipad i have uh some uh some neat things that i found a couple little uh i don't know how well you'll be able to see these but there are two small containers this is by sea to summit one is a little they have little leaves uh one is shaving cream uh you just put this underneath uh water and it'll lather up you just take a leaf out and lather up another one is detergent which is going to be great for uh washing clothes i'm only bringing uh three pairs of undies three uh t-shirts and uh three pairs of uh socks excuse me two t-shirts three pairs of uh socks and undies for the trip so i'm gonna have to do some washing on a daily basis i also have some toiletries toothbrush toothpaste some hair gel razor etc and then a canon digital camera it's actually a tripod right now that i'm using to record this and the charger for the tripod um and that's that's about it i think that's uh getting everything from jack also in the back pocket um i do have a t-shirt back here i found that as i was carrying that in the uh front pockets it made the jacket just a little too bulky so i decided to put a second t-shirt in the back pocket of the tropical vest it's cool enough right now i don't think i'm going to have to zip the sleeves off on this they do zip off though this becomes the best but it's cool enough here in virginia right now i'm not going to have to do that this weekend underneath i'm wearing a mountain hardwear windstopper vest which is very warm i've got a scotty vest cue zeb i love this shirt i get lots of uh comments on it i recently lost quite a bit of weight as a little self-experiment that i've been doing and i'm always getting very good comments good compliments about how trim it makes me look um underneath that i have a ice breaker similar to the q-zip it's an icebreaker wool shirt again it's getting a little chilly outside and then a smart little t-shirt underneath in the pockets of the hidden cargo pants i have a notepad my wallet and a comb i have my iphone uh some uh pen pencil uh things like that the napkin just fell out um as well as a uh some breath mints keys a usb drive and i think a couple more things i got some set of uh headphones that i still need to wire into my jacket as well as a spare battery from the ipad i'm wearing some echo shoes which i mentioned in my previous video and a pair of smart wool socks ex officio uh uh boxers and uh that's all the stuff that i'm bringing home for thanksgiving uh again it's uh thanks to uh my scottie best products that i'm able to carry all of this stuff without bringing any bags with me i'm looking forward to seeing how this challenge works looking forward to seeing how just the clothes wash out and how they uh how they wash and dry i should say uh and just uh see how well uh this uh this little experiment works i'll be checking in a few days to just give some uh uh get my thoughts on how the
