The Thrill of Drifting: A Day at Lone Star Events
Coming down the street with their cars pulled probably 10 car lengths on Harrison that was awesome we can see you putting together your lap now you made it another you know 30 yard farther down the track than your previous run and now you're starting to link your track together and you're starting to feel more comfortable so I think that's why you spun out kind of you know went into an angle Spin and kind of screwed up a little bit so just continue learning there and you're going to be awesome in about one to two more laps Harrison you're Harrison we have nothing to say except you're Harrison and your run was very very Harrison and we appreciate your harrassing your runs.

Nicole's the best spotter wife she helps me get out of parking lots all the time we got the nicest parking jobs check it out oh we're chilling we have arrived at Harris Hill Raceway um we've been here before but it actually wasn't with my car this is one of our we probably had one of the best times at a RAC track ever here driving Harrison's little Miata it's so fun I'm so stoked look look it's a Miata student driver it's a licensed motor home that's so they don't have to like have a CDL and get lots of fines and taxes and regulations Adam insisted that we what's it called absolutely nothing to do with me giving you a ride up the hill ride up the hill on this bite together and then his lanyard got caught and it chopped it in half and it smacked my leg and almost nearly killed me just kidding and where is it stuck Adam who's on the rocket just on this rocket and what's the moral don't wear lyard while you ride bikes yeah so at the end of the day kids don't buy lzbmx lanyards you're good the chirps of the welded has always I started off the day dealing with some car issues I had to end up bleeding the system cuz my car was getting kind of hot there's a little bit of air in it uh I Che my alignment a little bit too cuz I was rubbing but Nicole has been absolutely killing it in the Miata from last time that has new tires now so we're going to go see me drive She's been begging to come if you see the cones and you're like oh those are the clipping points they're not those are the clipping points for motorcycles and we're in a Miata a Miata is not the same as a motorcycle has four tires not two all right Nicole you going to show everybody what you got mhm all right ni I'm going to have you speak loud so everybody can hear you all right Nicole I'm going to speak loud so everyone can hear me are you enjoying this Miata I'm having a great time in my Miata I'm so excited for osw to have a track like this so I can drive my Miata she wants uh there to be a grip track in Florida which interestingly enough we're going to be getting a place fingers crossed what they've told us is they're going to be building a membership based Track by Disney kind of like Atlanta Motorsports Park all right remember the clipping points are off okay I don't know if they're called clipping points when you're not drifting oh I'm drifting okay I want to hear those tires squeal girl no no no not anymore now I have the proper line she said her tires don't school anymore now cuz she has the proper line all right coming in 70 M an hour all right Nicole any break come that's very smooth I'm impressed you're dipping all right Nicole you go back out this hill part's so scary I hear the tire's just about to bite and then you break while you're going straight and then you turn in as you let off right yeah is that what Harrison told you uh yeah yeah you're so much smoother now killing it girl here you stay in the middle and then you go in where is it that you always accidentally drift there's three different places probably this corner no I've never done this one yet okay I can drift if you want me to I don't know about that that it's not very controlled all right Nicole just put in first I told you I can't for you you're good you had it perfect you countered and all you just overcorrected a little hard okay you believe my drift I believe you drift Nicole so you enjoy this I love it absolutely love it I mean I've almost used half this tank of gas I mean if we have a local track you're going to become like a pro I love it wasn't it a lot better oh yeah much that wasn't even as good as I am with Harrison cuz he dress he's giving you a thumbs up poor bumperless car as I've been working out the issues with my car I have driven the track a little bit today so I think I'm starting to get the hang of it it is a third gear track though my car was struggling so I had to up the air in the tires quite a bit from like 13 PSI to like 23 PSI so I actually really like running low pressure cuz it bites a lot so on Dell the car grips up but on this track it's just little bit too grippy all right let's see some better drifting than me what let's see some better drifting than me all right I'll try is anybody on track right now um I think there are cars this track's so much bigger than I remembered still pretty grippy we're not allow we're not allowed to drift on that part so that's why I straightened out right there cuz yeah that's like the new part and it tears it up if you drift right at the seam the car felt way better now that I aired up the tires a little bit I was able to link it I was struggling all morning like kind of linking that downhill part that was so crazy I was literally staring at the outside into the track the whole time left foot breaking just like please don't drop a wheel please don't drop a wheel it'd be fun to see if I could keep up with you in this versus the Miata yeah that's cuz you can take Corners way faster than me cuz I have a welded yeah that' be cool I don't know why the new axles are making so much noise I don't like it it makes me feel like your TIR is like flapping yeah it's kind of annoying maybe they'll break in I don't know I don't know anything about cars I just like driving them just to get perspective this is me chasing the coold down I'm trying to leave it in fifth to make it fair but she really is hauling she's going like 85 on that corner she's crazy I bet if that car had coil over she'd be able to take these Corners way faster I'm so stoked she's having so much fun this is like one of her favorite things on this whole trip that we've done man she's hauling look at that body roll her lines are so good oh oh Nicole you're good we both did it that was our first tandem pass this car would be so fun to grip drive if I had an LSD on it oh I don't want to drift ruining my time I just love the feeling of all the G's and the SR and the and the 50 Cent I'm sorry so fun oh that heel toe action in there no oh boy that was close I got to chill what I notice a lot when people like are actually tandeming like drifting is at least at the beginning is they're so focused on the other car that they're not focusing on their lines and I think that was happening is I was like crap I'm missing all like the points where I'm supposed to be going cuz I was so focused on where you were and then I was just going in way too hot boy to get away and then it just and the first time you didn't see it at the top I drifted there too but I did I caught it well babe I don't know if you realized this but that was just our first sandem my god did you want to be in the comp yeah can I yeah cuz they're also going really fast now just tell us when you want the of the video to be in case you die so we can still make it it's it's like top of the next Wild okay if you don't think I should then I won't no no you can't I was just saying like it's going to get sketchy like it's F okay I won't then no do it do it if you're ready to Lev up eventually but if you're in it let's do it yeah no I'd probably rather not then let it do it to wom just do it you can follow someone your first lap and if they're way too fast it's okay when we went in the first times we would went about 65 would you say about mear I was I was going at about like 859 we're doing about 115 to 129 really yeah while it feels awesome I don't think that Lone Star drift has adequately trained uh formula D drivers in the last few years in fact often times you'll find that the proam type level guys and the people surrounding the community kind of talk down upon the competition level and everything else not from like because competition's bad but like people shouldn't do formula D well that we're going to make our guys really good we're going to do some private days testing the guys that have the most serious cars so if our Lone Star drift guys show up with 650 wheel horsepower and monster cars we're going to find something to do with them so we're here at Harris today thanks to Harrison Hill right here um we are going to I mean we already have been but we're going to go out and do a mock competition so that our best driver well I shouldn't say best sorry Colin you're not here but our uh our most wild cars get a chance to enter on a road course at 120 mph door too and have good fun so I'm going to hook up every competitor with a rule set radios I was going to compete but the mustang broke at the last second which sucks cuz it was like getting rowdy and uh we're going to go set these guys up not to have a finalist that wins the entire thing in an elimination competition what we're going to do is make sure every one of these guys goes against each other and gets to compare and contrast the cars so instead of just going in and like say Michael gets knocked out in the first round and doesn't get to drive against everyone he gets to drive the whole damn con okay so take a radio who has a working speedometer I do do you really yeah I do it's accurate all right check your speed your oh also to further complicate this slightly everyone cool with having a passenger to help record and do everything and have fun you don't have to be sound so unenthusiastic leading be Full Throttle before you get to the street kind of nervous but send it right oh my God that was so scary oh my God woohoo look at Adam go yeah yeah that was awesome to start with I feel like I just just looked in the face of death oh my God that was scary the other guys are 20 mph faster Adam you did awesome don't worry about it get ready you're Le that was probably one of the scariest things I've ever done I have no idea how fast I was going but oh my God we were flying and I was running next to him oh like that that's honestly the highlight of my day even though I I didn't even link the corner at all I didn't hit him and that's all that matters to me oh W oh my God that was fun go go go go go yeah there's building back there actually really good line from Adam buing just got roasted dude like nowhere 2J wasn't even in the game no got smoked by an Sr card hey Adam your runs were really good you were very fast into the entry you're faster than you were earlier and your run behind Fielding looked really good it looked like you panicked right before you got really close to him because you're going very fast but if you had not panicked you would have had an amazing follow lap you got within about 4 feet of him and it was a very clean follow um you just looked like you didn't know what to do to control the speed and angle of the car when you got so close so you kind of backed out but if you had not backed out you would have had it and it was gorgeous very very very good lots of confidence yeah I just saw his back wheels doing about like 90 mph like 3 ft from my face and I definitely panicked I forgot to downshift so I couldn't really keep drifting all right so I'm following Harrison now I freaked out a little bit again but oh my gosh I just got to master that downshift that's what freaks me out so much and the fact that we're going a million miles an hour oh thank God he didn't hit me good job Adam bur yeah he's good Harrison is good oh no hey do you care if I go again real quick solo just to practice that uh fourth to third your lead run on entry and your speed were wasn't clean on throttle so request you drive did you hear that what Nicole requested you drive like a man who did Nicole oh it had some corrections but yeah the entry felt pretty good I think you could have stayed on the LI would break there and it would have fixed a lot of the issues we have yeah yeah a little bit of handbrake just let it float out just a little bit Adam I'm calling you out for a rematch you ready I don't know who's talking Shredder versus you do it hell yeah let's do it wo oh boy that was good that was for you guys I don't that was probably like 110 as fast as my car could possibly go really Qui super boss like top this is my friend Dion woo what's the point of two Jay-Z swaps at this point like hell yeah buddy yeah there go woo I think that's a run to call it a quits on I can see the title now i t with Adam LZ how did everybody do great thank you very much haris Hil thank you all the drivers that came Michael Van shelin gets fastest driver and fastest entry yay he also gets most angle Jeff has least amount of oil pressure in his motor Fielding shredder has most panel shredded most panel shredded David mker has most time spinning pits with the car not working but it still worked very well I would say he probably had the most smoke and the most throttle commitment Adam had the most Whatchamacallit progression progression and Harrison had the most Harrison Harrison would have beat everybody because he never makes mistakes and Harrison's everybody oh that looks nice oh boy that was crazy dude you were crazy I need like some time to think before I can form the sentences Nicole I got to say youve really stepped your game up before I could even get my card in the trailer Nicole already did like 10 out of the 20 things that we have to do to load the trailer up which sped things up so fast you what actually is it cuz you want to go to Texas Roadhouse oh yes but before you even unloaded your car today I already got the locks off for you you did she did she's like she's really trying to pull more weight today and I really appreciate that Nicole thank you I can't thank Aaron enough for putting this together I learned so much today it was a really cool format and I don't think I was initially planning on being a part of it because it was geared more towards the guys that are trying to get into Pro two out of proam but it really really helped me kind of get more ballsy with my entries and it was a lot of fun Aaron's such an awesome guy and he does so much for the sport of drifting really expecting nothing in return between putting
