The joys of drifting with my R32 and the 2ZX project car from Connecticut. As I drove it home last night, it reminded me of its original purpose - to be a simple, reliable drift car that brings excitement to the track. The power is just right, around 350 horsepower, making it perfect for drifting. The drivetrain is super solid, and the car's simplicity makes it a great candidate for drifting.
I have to admit, I'm torn between my love for this car and its beauty. If it were any prettier, I wouldn't feel guilty about driving it around. But, as it stands, I just want to enjoy it and not crash it. Speaking of crashes, I have to share a funny story about my Missile from Japan. It's so clean, literally the cleanest 2ZX I've ever seen. One day, while trying to put in a CD, I realized that this car actually has a DVD player for navigation software. Who knew? The head unit even tilts back when you press open, making it easy to remove the CD.
One big issue we were having with our S15 was getting transmission parts. Not many people run the same model around here, so having an extra like the one I just received is a game-changer. Now, if we have any issues at the track, we can pop in a spare and wait for parts to rebuild. It's convenient to have a backup plan, especially when you're counting on your car to perform.
In other news, my friend Alberto is working on addressing the clutch issue in our RB project car. He thinks it might be related to a faulty master cylinder, which is an easy fix compared to some of the other problems we've been dealing with. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress he makes on this.
Tomorrow's video will feature truck mods, something I've been wanting to tackle for a while now. I acquired some cool parts from Connecticut that will make the process more enjoyable. The shop is getting cleared out, making room for new projects and maybe even an artist studio. It'll be interesting to see how everything comes together.
Lastly, I want to remind my audience that my Instagram story will have more information about the package deal I'm offering - a collection of parts from my RB project car, including an exhaust manifold, wastegates, dump tubes, intake manifold, and ceramic-coated collector. It's for sale, so if you're interested, check out my story to learn more.
That's all for now. Fingers crossed that we can get this project back together in time, and I look forward to sharing the results with you guys tomorrow.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enabout two hours late so kind of a bummer but finally on our way to the drift event so the main issue of the day and what I haven't really started filming until now there's actually like a super super big issue with the clutch me and Pat tried just about everything and we were starting to lose hope and would it turn out to be the rod from the master that goes into the pedal didn't have a lock nut on it I think Alberto cut it and I think he probably didn't have a nut the right size to lock it in place so it actually spun in and it wasn't able to fully depress the clutch so the reason why I was hard to shift is because that rod was backing out and then the clutch wasn't fully engaging which I started to realize when was that stoplights and I couldn't even put it into here because the car would start rolling after tackling that I handled the toe Pat how was the toe in the rear was it was it all right or over an inch so if you like driving erratically and your car fishtailing all over the place when you're trying to go in a straight line inch toe out would be the way to go yeah that's that's actually you don't funny fact that I'm sure you know this but like I was like when I got the truck lined I like didn't think about the fact that you don't a lot in the rear oh yeah it's just it's just one it is what it is yeah I think we were lining I was like oh yeah was it just did the rear get affected like no that is he cheated on along he learns on every day so and wait does that mean a Mustangs the same two salads no not mine but like an older Mustang this no way so like half the work to align those yeah well like they have like weird like additional like I know I feel bad for you guys never drive a Mustang I'm just kidding I like mr. Zepeda - all right I gotta kind of like I must the time actually all right we're back to work it's been so long it feels so weird rolling up to the home track dude that's crazy I'm so stoked to be here with my 32 and have my fancy neon lights and everything heck yeah all right well the car was just caught on fire all library in a second are we good that anything I should know anything has to know just don't hit the greets you're supposed to say don't suck oh yeah don't suck you you definitely a little bit definitely a little bit bummed but Pat thankfully keeps reminding me that it is test day and the whole point of this was to work out any kinks first thing we're having issue with I think I have a bad master something before every lap we'd have to basically Reba leave the actual master up top and then the clutch would work then it would stop working kind of annoying and then some weird stuffs gone I think ironic Bialetti guys were coming but I need to get it like a new cam trigger setup I think the cast is acting up a little bit because it's kind of all over the place and I want something I've auntie lights sometimes and it's kind of running like junk Jaime's doing his best to tune it but I think with without a proper trigger setup I think we're kind of at a loss and then like the LEDs the terminals were some batteries that I caught on fire and like when karma was exploded because it open flame next to the gas tanks that was tight and then Alberto's laptop died I haven't been able to my laptop because someone lost the cable to it and his laptop died so now we're kind of out of standstill and I don't know that we can do much more but testing day that's how it goes definitely overloading the car in the trailer without even going through a set of tires but it is part of the game I'd rather play safe and sorry and get off track before putting you know myself or the car or the engine in danger bummer we're dealing with three tires but here's what it is and this was a testing day we found out a lot of things need to be changed so a couple things I want to redo the cooling system those fans do not move off air kind of thought that would be the case but it's confirmed idling it would only just kill around like 190 195 when I want to see those times closer to 170 before I go out to do a run other than that tunes gonna meet somebody and like I said I think I'm gonna get a new trigger set up and the Jamie will just dial then up in Connecticut what else is going over there everything like suspension Weisfeld again - wise looks good decent shape just got some bug's to work out figured I'd carry this video again into the next day mainly just because I haven't been able to like film that much just cuz things have been kind of going wrong but uh anyway I drove this thing home last night and it kind of reminded me how this cars original purpose was supposed to be what I'm doing with the r32 and bringing this up to Connecticut and having just a simple reliable drift car driving it last night I was like dang I could literally rise raise this car to inches and it would probably be a better drift car than our 32 just cuz it's so simple makes so much power I mean not a ton like maybe like 350 but perfect amount of drift like super super solid drivetrain this cars good I love it I wish it wasn't so pretty so I wouldn't be like so guilty driving it I just don't want to like crash it and I know if I drift it you guys know if I drift this is you know look at my missile from Japan and I want to smash it up it's so clean literally the cleanest 2zx I've ever seen it's a funny story I'm trying to figure out I'm trying to figure out how I'm trying to figure how to change a CD in this car because I lost the aux cord and I figured out that it actually has a DVD player for the navigation software so that whole units just for nav I was trying to put a CD in there and then I realized that's what it was and then I found out check this out this car is so cool you press open on the factory head unit and it tilts back and then that's how you remove the CD and even as a tape player so this car has had a I think it's twenty one pilots CD in it it's getting pretty old so I've got one of my favorite three eleven CDs but he still isn't too a lot when I was a kid and I'm swapping it out for we're gonna jam that's so cool one big issue we were having with the S 15 was getting trans parts because not a lot of people run same sonís around here so having an extra you know like your said or something would be really nice but the time to rebuild it and stuff especially when you're at the track so it's convenient to have a spare so wouldn't you know look what came in the mail we've got ourselves a spare sequential trans for the yes 15 how tight is that so now if we have any issues rather than having to wait on parts and possibly miss around we've got a spare trans so if you have any issues occurs we're gonna pop that one in and then wait for parts to rebuild our spare so who knows maybe it'll be a day that that will wind up in another car I love to have like a stands on a semi or 32 maybe the yellow evo but we'll see anyway that's one exciting thing I don't know if it'll be sold by the time that it's on my story but if any of you guys want the package that used to be on my RB with exhaust manifold wastegates dump tubes intake manifold and this is like a rad this is ceramic coated and this is like a billet collector from raw Brokerage as well as their SiC intake manifold it's for sale so I don't know whatever price that poser to my story but look at my Instagram story to try to address the clutch issue Alberto got a couple different masters I think that that's the source of the problem I'm not sure but hopefully because that is probably the easiest fix so he's gonna be tackle on that and then tomorrow's video we're gonna do some truck mods so one of the reasons why I wanted to down from Connecticut's because I get a bunch of fun parts to put on it so trucks can even cool it in an artist so we've just been clearing out the shop making some room for that so I just want to give you guys a heads up and that's how you can look forward to tomorrow so and why thank you guys and fingers crossed we can get this thing back together in time also looks like I should probably bring it over to Philips turn alignment CFR for that wheels it's a big old Ikes but anyway thank you guys and I wrote to you tomorrowabout two hours late so kind of a bummer but finally on our way to the drift event so the main issue of the day and what I haven't really started filming until now there's actually like a super super big issue with the clutch me and Pat tried just about everything and we were starting to lose hope and would it turn out to be the rod from the master that goes into the pedal didn't have a lock nut on it I think Alberto cut it and I think he probably didn't have a nut the right size to lock it in place so it actually spun in and it wasn't able to fully depress the clutch so the reason why I was hard to shift is because that rod was backing out and then the clutch wasn't fully engaging which I started to realize when was that stoplights and I couldn't even put it into here because the car would start rolling after tackling that I handled the toe Pat how was the toe in the rear was it was it all right or over an inch so if you like driving erratically and your car fishtailing all over the place when you're trying to go in a straight line inch toe out would be the way to go yeah that's that's actually you don't funny fact that I'm sure you know this but like I was like when I got the truck lined I like didn't think about the fact that you don't a lot in the rear oh yeah it's just it's just one it is what it is yeah I think we were lining I was like oh yeah was it just did the rear get affected like no that is he cheated on along he learns on every day so and wait does that mean a Mustangs the same two salads no not mine but like an older Mustang this no way so like half the work to align those yeah well like they have like weird like additional like I know I feel bad for you
