How To Make SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS CAKE with a Surprise Inside and Fondant Noodles

The Art of Cake Design: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Show-Stopping Italian Feast

I get a happy medium I made the base of the handle using 50/50 and I used straight up gumpaste for the actual handle to apply these handles to your pot apply the base plates to the cake and then Mark out where the ends of the handles will enter the base plate with a piping tip then you need to paint the base plate while it's on the cake Steady Hand Steady Hand Under Pressure then paint the handle add the handles and do any paint touch-ups that you need. I painted my handles with silver highlighter and a bit of clear food grade alcohol.

The Handle of Perfection

When it comes to adding a finishing touch to your cake, the handle can make or break the design. A well-placed handle can elevate your creation from ordinary to extraordinary. For this particular design, I used a 50/50 mix of fondant and gum paste to create the base of the handle. The actual handle was made using straight-up gumpaste, which provides a smooth and pliable texture that's perfect for creating intricate details.

Applying the Handle

Once the handle is created, it's time to apply it to your pot. Start by applying a small amount of piping gel or piping glue to the back of the handle and attach it to the base plate of your cake. Make sure everything is secure and even before moving on to the next step.

Adding the Base Plate

Before adding the handle, you need to create the base plate of your cake. This involves applying a small amount of fondant or gum paste to the top of your pot. Use a piping bag and tip to create a smooth, even surface that's perfect for holding your handle in place.

Painting the Handle

Once the base plate is dry, it's time to paint the handle. Use a mixture of silver highlighter and clear food-grade alcohol to create a subtle sheen on your handle. This will give your design a sophisticated and elegant look that's perfect for any occasion.

The Power of Pasta

When it comes to creating an authentic Italian feast, nothing beats a plate of fresh pasta. I used my pasta attachment on my mixer to create a batch of noodles that I let dry for a day before using them in the recipe. The result is a delicious and satisfying sauce that's sure to impress your guests.

Making Meatballs

No Italian feast is complete without meatballs, so it's time to get started. I crumbled my banana cake into my mixing bowl, added a dollop of buttercream, and mixed it all together until I had a beautiful batch of juicy meatballs. The secret to their success? A special sauce recipe that combines Italian mering buttercream with seedless raspberry jam.

Creating the Perfect Sauce

My sauce is a game-changer for any pasta dish. It's made by mixing Italian mering buttercream with seedless raspberry jam until it reaches the perfect consistency. This subtle sweetness and tanginess balances out the richness of the meatballs, creating a flavor combination that's sure to delight your taste buds.

Adding the Finishing Touches

The final touches are what make this cake truly special. I added a wooden spoon made from fondant to complete the look. The spoon is painted with a subtle wood grain texture that adds a touch of realism to the design.

A Slice of Perfection

This Italian feast is more than just a cake – it's an experience. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the savory meatballs, every detail has been carefully considered to create a culinary masterpiece. Whether you're looking for inspiration or simply want to learn how to create your own show-stopping cakes, this design is sure to delight.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enMama M it's a cake I've been growing this for a week I think it's pretty full oh welcome back to how to cake it I'm Yolanda I know that I usually make cake on this channel but today I'm feeling a little more like spaghetti and meatles big thank you to world Chef for sponsoring and collaborating on this video you could download world Chef by clicking the link in the description below it's available for iOS and and Android oh that's that is some win action do you see that next one look at this you could just communicate to make this spaghetti and meatballs cake I begin with 12 lbs of my vanilla cake recipe I divide this batter between 6 9 in round pens I left 4 lbs of the batter plain I dyed 4 lb bread and 4 lb green with food coloring do you see where I'm going with this there's a theme this video has a theme unlike all of our other videos I simple syrup all of my cakes don't forget you can get your own simple syrup bottle or sir squeeze a lot at had toake it.com I'm now going to begin to stack and fill my cakes with Italian mering buttercream I'm now going to use it to sandwich together two cakes that look like an Italian FL I feel like my Italian mering buttercream has been waiting for this moment it's Destiny I'm going to stack them one on top of another with a board in between and then I'm going to place dowels into the top cake I'm actually working with the cake upside down at the moment so once I flip it over those dabbles will be there for support once your cakes are higher than 4 or 6 in you need a board in the middle for support plus there's going to be a lot of pasta and meatballs and sauce on top of this cake it's heavy I need to carve the top edges of my cake which will end up being the bottom to sort of res resemble the round curves of a pot I cut a board a bit smaller than the diameter of my cake and use that for guidance my cake is really starting to look like an upside down pot I'm going to ice it really smooth with my Italian mering buttercream I'm going to use a really tall bench scraper to help me out that's very Italian of me what talking with my hand the whole video will be like and I was doing I was icing my all my videos are like that so I've spent a lot of time around Italians and then I married one I've earned this mustache I've chilled my cake and it's nice and cold so now it's time for fondant bright red fondant my butcher block is actually too small to roll out this piece of fondant so I move it over to my stainless steel table this is what cake action is I don't know if moving fondant is up there with like running for your life what are you trying to say I want to see you move fondant Justin and so do they my font in is now about an e/ of an inch thick I'm going to trim it just a bit bigger than the dimensions I need I roll the sheet onto a French rolling pin then I quickly pick it up and wrap it all the way around the cake and then I need to quickly use a ruler to cut a nice clean seam this is like an Italian action movie what's that movie with the minis oh oh oh The Italian Job yeah we just need Mark Walberg I I don't know we definitely do need Mark Walberg now I need to trim away the excess Spa from the bottom and the top of my cake I want to add a metal piece of trim to the top of my pot but it's easier to do this while the cake is still upside down because I have the board to guide me I'm going to use a mixture of gumpaste and fondant dyed gray roll it out and cut a thin strip and then use a little water to apply it all the way around what is now the base of my cake it's time to flip this cake over now this is action Joselyn are you with me yeah I I agree this this is action well you can't hesitate there's no room for hesitation here it's like disarming a bomb hold on to that cake and flip J this is not a laughing matter I can't be like hey just flip your cake over like that and then no flip Stop scaring don't flip your cake flip it we've got to make handles for this pot cuz otherwise how will you pick it up the handles consist of two parts one is a rolled out tube with a wire through the middle and then I bend it to resemble a handle and the other part is the flat rectangle which will be the base of the handle a lot of people ask me what the difference is between fondant and gumpaste gumpaste dries rock hard fondant doesn't so when I mix them together in equal measure I get a happy medium I made the base of the handle using 50/50 and I used straight up gumpaste for the actual handle to apply these handles to your pot apply the base plates to the cake and then Mark out where the ends of the handles will enter the base plate with a piping tip then you need to paint the base plate while it's on the cake Steady Hand Steady Hand Under Pressure then paint the handle add the handles and do any paint touch-ups that you need I painted my handles with silver highlighter and a bit of clear food grade alcohol the handle has to be secure otherwise pots just go flying that's too much action it's intense speaking of action if you like action in the kitchen as much as I do the world Chef game allows you to create your own restaurant fill it with chefs from around the world and make your own dishes you can make anything you want it is available on Facebook where you can interact with your friends by trading dishes my dishes are always the best it's not a competition you you're just mad cuz you lose I'm going to throw this empty pot in the fridge cuz it's time to make spaghetti and meatballs huh oh and don't forget the sauce I got a good sauce recipe my secret sauce is actually Italian mering buttercream dyed red with seedless raspberry jam mixed together until it's the perfect consistency for my meatballs I made my moist banana cake but I added a little bit of cocoa powder to darken the color you can get my recipe just click the link in the description below it's my favorite favorite then I crumbled my cake into my mixing bowl added a dollop of buttercream mixed it around until when I picked it up in my hand I could just form a nice juicy meatball just like the real thing you don't want to squeeze it you want a nice meatball now do that 20 times now it's time to make my spaghetti that's the only way huh none of this stuff from a bag fresh pasta I have an incredible pasta attachment for my mixer it works great with fondant as well and I created like piles of noodles that I let dry for a day when you leave fondant to sit at room temperature it gets a bit stiffer and harder so it will hold its shape so I want some of them to be dry and some of them to be fresh I'm going to start by adding some of my dried piles of pasta to the top of my cake here and there and then I'm going to use some of my fresh noodles to fill in the gaps let a few sort of hang over like the pot is just briming you can never cook too much ask anyone who's Italian so this is a reasonable amount of pasta for two people I spoon on some of my sauce then I add a few meatballs oh I didn't want my meatballs to look dry is there anything worse than a dry meatball so I actually brushed some of the raspberry jam onto the surface of my meatballs so they looked nice and ready poured a little more sauce on top of my meatballs and then I need something to serve this with so I'm going to make a wooden spoon I do this simply with a dowel covered and fondant painted to look like wood grain and then I stick it right into the pot little details like this that are quick and easy really take a cake to the next level and I have a lot of fun making things like this okay is that it y m what's wrong with you we need cheese cheese I got a big hunk of white chocolate that actually looks like a slab of cheese and I just grated it right on top Mama Mia it's a cake t-shirt reference I feel like a lot of action movies either end with some kind of scene on a beach or a group around a table eating cuz now like oh we did it and we're eating so I mean you saw me I did the flip speaking of action if you're wondering how long these cakes actually take me to make and I know you are cuz it's one of the number one questions I get head over to my Facebook we're putting up a time lapse version of this video and you can see how long this actually takes me thank you again to world Chef for sponsoring and collaborating on this vid the game is available for IOS and Android just click the link in the description below and try it out guys there's only two more days that you can vote for me
