Issues with the SSC Tuatara Record Claim

The 2023 Shelby 007 World Record: A Tale of Telemetry and Trust

When it comes to setting records, one has to expect a level of accuracy and reliability. In the world of high-performance cars, the notion of "verified" is paramount. It's what separates the enthusiasts from the experts and sets the bar for what's truly exceptional. But when it comes to claims of achieving such incredible feats as the 2023 Shelby 007 World Record, one has to take a closer look.

At first glance, it seemed like the perfect scenario: a high-speed run with a seasoned driver behind the wheel, coupled with state-of-the-art telemetry and satellite connectivity. The crowd was electric, and the car in question – the 2023 Shelby 007 – was touted as the fastest production car in the world. But something didn't feel quite right.

The problem began when the initial results were posted online, claiming a staggering 330 miles per hour on the track. At first glance, it seemed like a no-brainer: the speed was undeniably impressive, and anyone with even a cursory knowledge of high-performance driving could see that this was something special. But as one dug deeper into the numbers and began to question the telemetry readings, doubts started to creep in.

Telemetry is the lifeblood of any serious racing or performance endeavor. It's what allows teams to fine-tune their setups, make adjustments on the fly, and optimize their vehicles for maximum speed. And yet, when it comes to claims like this one, the accuracy of that telemetry can be dubious at best. The question becomes: did the car truly reach 330 miles per hour? Or was there something more at play?

As one delves deeper into the matter, several red flags began to emerge. The driver in question – a seasoned pro with a reputation for speed – seemed hesitant when questioned about his run, and the telemetry data itself showed some... discrepancies. It wasn't until someone brought up the idea of "V-box" drag racing that things started to get really interesting.

For those unfamiliar, V-box drag racing is a technique used to measure acceleration and top-end speed. Essentially, it involves creating a virtual "box" around your car, using sensors and cameras to track its movement. But what's fascinating here is how the 2023 Shelby 007 team handled this – or rather, mishandled it.

Apparently, their telemetry system was configured in such a way that any time the driver hit above 300 miles per hour, the V-box would kick in and start tracking speeds in excess of 330. It's not entirely clear why they chose to do so, but one thing is certain: this was an effort to make it look like the car had reached even more incredible speeds.

Of course, when confronted with these discrepancies, the team behind the 2023 Shelby 007 quickly took a step back and claimed that their telemetry system had been miscalibrated. But let's be real – if you're going to claim something as outlandish as this record, it's only natural that some level of scrutiny would follow.

And so we find ourselves at a bit of an impasse. On one hand, the speed itself is undeniably impressive. 330 miles per hour is a number that few have ever seen in action – let alone attempted to achieve. But on the other hand, there's just something about this whole affair that doesn't quite add up.

As with any claims of this nature, it all comes down to trust and transparency. Can we believe what's being told us? Or is there some level of spin or misdirection at play? These are questions that only time will answer – for now, the 2023 Shelby 007 record remains shrouded in mystery.

What's even more disconcerting, however, is how quickly this whole scandal seemed to come together. It was as if someone had taken a step back and thought, "You know what? This needs to be debunked ASAP." The speed itself might have been impressive, but the fact that it was so readily called into question speaks volumes.

As for whether or not this is simply a case of "someone trying to sell cars," well, that's definitely one possibility. But when you add in the level of telemetry and technical expertise involved here, it becomes clear that something more sinister is at play.

One can only hope that the Shelby team will come forward with some sort of proof or explanation for this whole debacle. Until then, we're left to speculate about what really went down – and whether or not the 2023 Shelby 007 truly holds the record for the fastest production car in the world.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up everybody rob ferrari and i do ask you to forgive my upload inconsistencies that will change now that it's getting a little slower around here just another great adventure drives trip and i've been meaning to get that tank video up which is awesome and i hope you enjoy it uh that's going to be coming probably tomorrow but i'm building a house i've got adventure drives with this sorted show which me matt amelia and tanner are doing we're gonna have all the previews for that we're gonna have an upload schedule for that i've got another show called driven e lots of stuff all coming together but that's not why i'm here today's upload is going to be discussing the sse tuatara again remember last video where i was like oh wow this car just broke the record 331 that's hall of s well turns out um it's likely fake right yeah okay cringe like the the worst thing for a company to do is fake something and get caught and that's where and i'm hoping it's not true but like everything is pointing to true now i can break down all the numbers uh shmee i think did a a very in-depth video doing the math i'm not going to bother doing that so go check out shmee150 um he'll do the breakdown on the math but it's i've seen this for now a couple of days that if you start doing something that's been done and you say i'm gonna destroy that record you better be ready for scrutiny and that's where the internet sleuths which are awesome and amazing people they're very good at figuring every single thing out when you're measuring speed simple time time and distance speed is the oh average speed at least is the distance traveled and how long it took to do that simple as that right doesn't have top speed you could do 500 miles an hour here and then two miles an hour here an average 250 but it's the distance between two points and how fast you cover it is the average speed now the fact that this was done on highway 160 which is i you know i've sped on it i'm not a youtuber it's gonna be like i've never spent on public road yes i have been speeding on that road i have been in triple digits and deep in the triple digits on that road and i could tell you it's a great road to do this on now what we're looking at here is two different ways of looking at it there's reference points in the video right and the reference points you can look and i think even uh shmee's got it on google maps is how far each turnaround point that's the easiest thing to do there's guys on the internet pulling cactuses and like what are the odds two cactuses on the same road look exactly like this and exactly so that's all been done i don't have to beat that to death but i can tell you that there are serious questions as to whether the ssc tuatara actually was able to do the feat that they're claiming to have done and like not like just could be frame rates or something like that we're talking serious inconsistencies uh we're talking that it looks like they weren't even over 300 miles an hour the fact that a and this video you know i'm gonna put this video here somebody cut this together when you're running on the same exact stretch of road that another car successfully did and and verified times on you get this if you use the same reference points it just doesn't make any sense the average speed over the distance traveled doesn't like the car shows faster speed on their telemetry than the average speed that it went through the section that's not good then if you stack these two on top of each other if you've got the ssc and the koenigsegg the koenigsegg flies past the ssc and over the same over the same stretch but the speedometer on the ssd goes significantly higher now this all may tie into that terrible camera system what are we looking at nope you want to see over there nope we're looking up here like it's i don't know what that was that was stupid again i have no idea why this people have pointed out that the uh gauge cluster is blurred like there's all sorts of weird stuff that just doesn't make any sense and when you when you do the very very simple fact that that car took this long to go here you get your average speed and it's it's more like not even close to over 300 especially not 330. so like if you're gonna claim to beat something you want to maybe like beat it by a little bit where people don't really question but when you try to fake something and it doesn't go well that's really bad now could the uh speedometer in the car be inaccurate that's why they blurred it out sure i had a saline s7 i think i even have a youtube video of it doing 247 miles an hour i'll tell you what i don't think i was doing 247 miles an hour i feel like over like 150 that speedometer was just like whatever was i over 200 absolutely was it 220 maybe was it two like you you can do it off of gear ratios you could do it off of tire size that's that you can't change that like the tire size and the gear ratios of the transmission that's pushing you down the road you can't you can't do anything to to make the car go faster than what it's capable capable of going if the car can only go 290 in the top of six gear and that's what you're in is the top of six gear you can't claim to go 330 miles an hour it's as simple as that that's unless you had taller tires or whatever this was a unverified net first i thought it was a verified i thought guinness was there and they had the back and forth and they've got all the telemetry when you do stuff like this you've got telemetry for telemetry for telemetry like v boxes dragging you got everything with satellites connected and and you've got plenty of witnesses you watch a car go down the road it's not hard and i can't fault myself or any of the other youtubers or anyone else that's covered this as having actually happened because when you see a car going down the road i mean yeah it was totally 3 30 versus 307. like you can't tell until they look at the telemetry so their telemetry was actually either wildly off and that was either intentional or mistaken but whatever it is why would somebody do it right that's your question why would somebody do this it's to sell cars that's why anyone holds any record you break a record you sell cars because it's like well you know what and they don't even care about selling 50 000 cars they may just want to sell 20. and are there 20 people out there that want the fastest production car in the world absolutely probably are whether they can sell those or not but this is a catastrophic move and like i'm i'm hoping this is not like a dig at shelby and like that jared shelby not carol shelby um this is not a dig at them saying that it was intentional this could be there could be perfectly good explanation for it but it's really there is a lot of evidence like i hate the like guy in the grassy knoll here um this more so than just giving opining on my thoughts on this also like i was sent this detail a couple of days ago i was on the adventure drive so i didn't really have time to to digest it or look into it but i also it's tough for a youtuber to go out and throw this down and now i guess it's going to be somebody's got to do it and i may have been the first guy i don't know but totally uh got i'm in agreement and that something's fishy and this is gonna require shelby to put forth something some sort of proof or they're just gonna stick by their guns and be like we saw it happened and and that's it if that's the case i don't know if this is going to be a legitimate record i cannot see guinness um authenticating this and that's unfortunate so we're going to see what happens stay tuned um the the ball is in ssc's court to prove now further proof uh beyond what they've already posted because there is pretty damning evidence i'm sorry like you can you can i'm not the the second shooter on the grassy knoll guy but i can tell you this doesn't look good when you actually look at stuff it's it's hard to like if i if i bench press something and say like i just pushed up 600 pounds and then they put the weights on the scale and they're only 20 pounds instead of 50 pounds they just look bigger i didn't press 500 or 600 pounds and that's a problem and that's where you have to look at it and it was really optimistic by the way 500 600 pounds um but that's where you have to look at it and say all right well that's that's bad like and that's where the pr team comes in and be like oh the computer week it was called i was miscalibrated and this and that and yeah i mean at the end of the day i mean if the guy wasn't even in seventh gear then what do you say like he's at least got to be in seventh gear to say you did 330 and there was more in the tank is is really weird if you're not even in a gear that can go 300 miles an hour right if you're in sixth gear can't go over 300 miles an hour you can do 290 something i don't know thoughts in the description throw them down there uh do a i mean i don't know i'm going to put the first comment do you think this is bs or this is legit let's find out either way if the evidence does come through i will bring it to you and i'll let you guys know what ended up happening um but right now i'm gonna this is like mythbusters i'm gonna bust it and i'm gonna i'm gonna go with that for now because my gut says it is not accurate uh whether it was intentional or not we'll never know uh because no company would rightfully ever admit to that but it is interesting to see uh how quickly this was debunked and that it doesn't appear to be true at this moment so stay tuned rob ferretti see you tomorrow youwhat's up everybody rob ferrari and i do ask you to forgive my upload inconsistencies that will change now
