Summer Book Releases to Get Excited For: A Preview of Upcoming Podcasts and Novels

The summer season is upon us, and with it comes a plethora of exciting book releases that are sure to captivate readers. From podcasts to novels, there's something for everyone on this list. As I sit down to discuss these upcoming titles, I can barely contain my excitement.

One podcast that I'm eagerly anticipating is "None of This Is True" by Lisa Jewell, set to release on August 8th. The show promises to be a fascinating exploration of human relationships and the complexities of our personalities. The story follows Alex, a popular podcaster who finds herself drawn into the life of an unassuming woman named Josie, also celebrating her 45th birthday. As their paths cross again, Josie reveals dark secrets that have been hiding in plain sight, leaving Alex to navigate a web of intrigue and deceit. I've had mixed experiences with Lisa Jewell's books in the past, but the addition of podcasting to the mix has me intrigued. Will this be her next hit novel?

Another podcast that caught my attention is "My Roommate Is a Vampire" by Jenna Levin, set to release on August 29th. The cover art drew me in immediately – who wouldn't want to read about vampires? But it's the premise of the story that really has me excited. Cassie, a young woman looking for a place to live, finds an ideal apartment with one condition: she must share it with her new roommate, Frederick J Fitzwilliam. As they get to know each other, she begins to suspect that something is amiss – namely, that her roommate may be a vampire. I've always been a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the idea of a modern take on this classic trope has me eager to dive in.

Finally, there's "Good Good Bad Girl" by Alice Feeney, set to release on August 29th. This novel promises to be a gripping mystery that explores the complex relationships between three women, all connected by a tragic event from 20 years ago. The story follows Edith, an 80-year-old woman who finds herself at the center of a murder investigation and must navigate a web of deceit and suspicion. With Feeney's proven track record as a masterful storyteller, I'm confident that this will be a page-turner.

As I look through this list of upcoming releases, I can feel my excitement building. Whether it's a podcast or a novel, there's something for everyone on this list. From vampires to murder mysteries, these titles promise to deliver thrills and chills in equal measure. With summer just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get lost in a good book or tune in to a fascinating podcast. I can barely wait to dive into these stories and see what they have in store for us.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone my name is Heather and welcome back to the channel bookables today I'm here to share with you all of the amazing summer book releases that I am really excited about so I do a lot of these every year at the beginning of the year I do one for the entire year just going over what books I'm excited for but of course as time goes on more books get released more books I didn't know about get added to the list and things like that so I do them also seasonally so I do spring summer winter and fall so here we are for summer so summer in the months where I live in the US is June July and August and it is one of my favorite times to read probably summer and fall those two are like my favorite for book releases I feel like they get the best book releases that's just me that's just how I feel but either way there's a lot of really great summer book releases that are coming out that I am so excited to read first up coming out on June 13th is a love catastrophe by Helena hunting this is an author I've read a lot of before she writes romance books and I really am enjoy them this one is about a girl named Kitty heart who has become famous as the kitty Whisperer for all things cat online so she has a cat sitting business and it's booming because of that because she's like the Cat Whisperer and she meets her newest client miles who doesn't like cats at all but his mom kind of just leaves her cat with him and he's like I don't know those cats we endless kitties help and things go from there now I'm just gonna say this don't throw your stones at me I'm not a big cat person I'm just not I'm more of a dog person that's just me but cats are cute and I really enjoy Helena hunting's book so I really hope for this one the cover is really cute the title is very punny because that's very in nowadays but we'll have to see how I feel about it to one that I'm really excited for is how to kill men and get away with it by Katie Brandt coming out also on June 13th which is a it's a lot so it's about a girl it says he I'm gonna read you the blurb actually he was following me that that guy from the nightclub who wouldn't leave me alone I hadn't intended to kill him of course but I wasn't displeased when I did it and despite the mess I made I appeared to get away with it that's where my addiction started I've got a taste for revenge and quite frankly I'm killing it it says deliciously dark hilarious choice of story about friendship love emerge so it kind of sounds to me it's almost in the veins of Finley Donovan is killing it which is another book I love so it's kind of sad terrific funny with some murder in it I love the cover I'm very excited for this one I have a copy on that guy that I'll be reading very very soon coming on June 13th is Ali hazelwood's new book love theoretically so this is part of uh kind of her science series um and it says Rivals physics Collide in a Vortex of academic feuds and fake dating Shenanigans and this delightful steminist that's her thing feminist feminist you get it rom-com so yeah that's all I know about it I do enjoy Ali hazelwood's books her first one is still my favorite the fake um what's it called the fake hypothesis I want to say that's what it's called where is it at it's right here the love hypothesis um and I don't know I just do feel I'm not very sciency so I do struggle with that aspect part of her books but overall for the majority I do like her writing moving on to Riley Sager's new book coming out on June 20th that is the only one left in this cover might be my favorite cover of his this is oh I don't know about this it says now reduced to a schoolyard chant The Hope Family murders shock the main Coast one bloody night in 1929. while most people assume that 17 year old Lenora was responsible the police were never able to prove it she's never spoken publicly about that night nor she stepped foot outside of hopes and the Cliffside Mansion where the massacre occurred and now it's 1983 and home Aid um Like Home Health person kit arrives at hopes and to care for Lenora after a previous nurse fled in the middle of the night in her 70s and confined to a wheelchair Lenora was rendered mute by a series of strokes and can only communicate with kit by tapping out sentences on an old typewriter one night Lenore uses it to make a tantalism offer I want to tell you everything like that sounds really great and intense and I am so excited for this one but I'm not gonna lie to you I'm not a fan at all of Riley Sager's previous book the house on the lake I easily Milly's favorite so I got apprehensions your slip by Ashley pawson coming out June 27th so this is some interesting book it's about everyone Clementine who has vowed to keep her heart safe and then she finds a strange man standing in her kitchen of her late aunt's apartment a man with kind eyes and a Southern drawl the kind of man that before it all she would fall in head over heels for except he exists in the past seven years to be exact and she quite literally lives seven years in his future her aunt always said the apartment was a pinch in time a place where moments Blended together like watercolors and Clementine knows as she lets her heart fall should be doomed so this one reminds me a lot of the lake house with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock it kind I had the same vagues where they fell in love with each other but they were literally living at different times it's very like obscure and I can't like wrap my head around it but I'm interested in it I'm gonna see how it goes I'm probably gonna fall ahead over heels with them because it's probably gonna be such an epic love story of insane proportions into July first up we have business or pleasure by Rachel and Solomon coming out July 4th so this is about a character named Chandler who has never felt more like the ghost in Ghost Rider until she attends for a book signing that she of a book she wrote only you know she's not getting any credit for it because she's the ghost writer and the author does not even recognize her like the dude that that supposedly wrote the book doesn't even recognize the person who actually wrote the book which is wow even nature is more promising when she meets the Charming Man at the bar melee connects with him but when all her sections were open all of her sexual attention accumulates in a awkward hook up she decides that this one night is better off forgotten unfortunately it's easier said than done her next project is ghost riding for a memoir for Finn Walsh a c-list actor best known for playing a level one nerd um and Chandler knows him better for the night of one night stand of hilarious mishaps so that guy and basically they're keeping their partnership as professional as possible but when she admits to him that their night wasn't as mind-blowing as he thought it was he decides you know when they're not working on the book he will school her in the art of satisfaction so it sounds really really interesting I'm really excited for it I love Rachel and Solomon's adult books and Hawaii books to Hello Stranger by Catherine Setter coming out July 11th this is a book about a character named Sadie who never saw it coming she gets in this car accident and then she wakes up with this new kind of diagnosis where she it's probably temporary they say it's known as face blindness she can see but every face she looks at now is a jumbled puzzle of disconnected features which I believe is it's an actual word it's a book I read it was by the same author that wrote all the bright places but it wasn't that book it was another book by her the book I'm talking about is holding up the universe by Jennifer Niven and not a character has nausea I believe which is a condition known as face blindness where you can't recognize faces so I don't know if this character in hello stranger has that but I have read a book similar to that so I'm interested to see how that goes I didn't really enjoy the one holding up the universe so we'll have to see Aldi she has to live with this but as she struggles to cope and hang on to her artistic dream and to take care of her beloved dog she falls in love with not one man but two the timing couldn't be worse so it sounds interesting I love Catherine Center's work her books are more kind of women's fiction I would say with a dash of romance but even still I enjoy them we have a twisted Love Story by Samantha Downing coming out July 18th this is her newest book and I my lovely wife is one of my favorite Thrillers of all time this one's kind of similar where it's about a marriage of it's about Wes and Ivy who are madly in love um and they say it's the kind of love that you write stories about and it says but what stories when it's good it's great but when it's bad it's really bad but when their vicious cycle of catastrophe breakups and head over Heroes reconciliations needs to end fast because suddenly Wes and ivy have a common enemy and she's a detective and I think things happen but because I I don't know I don't know I don't want to know more about it because I just want to go into it because Samantha Downing writes some great plot twists like I love her plot twisting in their books so I'm very excited for this one then we have a silver nitrate by Silva Sylvia Morana Garcia coming out July 18th I have read one book by this author Mexican Gothic which I did really enjoy this one sounds really cool in the cover the cover wins easily like the best cover I love it it's like very intense it kind of reminds me of like an older Stephen King like you know those kind of intense kind of 80s-ish covers it's amazing so this one I don't know what it's about a lot of it it's oh gosh musterette have always been overlooked she's a talented sound editor and she's left out of the boys club running the film industry in 19 in the 90s Mexico City but she's in she's all but invisible to her best friend Tristan and she's been in love with him since she's been she's been alone with him since they were child and then Tristan discovers his new neighbor is the cult horror director able and legendary amateur claims he can change their lives making a film this is now the director wants them to help him shoot the missing scene of this movie that kind of bombed his career and lift the curse but she soon knows this is a dark presence following her attrition began seeing the ghost of his ex-girlfriend so it's got that kind of horror Vibes into it which I'm really interested in so I'm excited for it we have the last book in July everyone here is lying by Sherry lapina coming out July 20th and this is about a character named William who's a family man but he's been having an affair an affair that ended horribly this afternoon at a motel on the road so when he returns to his house angry and death stayed to find his difficult nine-year-old daughter unexpectedly home from school William loses her temper hours later Avery that's his daughter's family declares her missing suddenly this town does not feel safe and William is the only one on a street who's hiding a lot as Witnesses come forward with the information that may or not be true Avery's neighbor has become increasingly in hitched who took Avery Woolard this is an example I should read things like I read a lot of sugar lapina so I was very excited for this one nine-year-old my son's about to turn nine I don't really do good with um child abduction books because you get it um so will I read this one I don't know honestly I'm gonna have to see how I feel because it kind of terrifies me moving on to August which is like the most Thrillers of all the Thrillers um in August with family lore by Elizabeth Acevedo coming out August 1st this is not the roller but this is Elizabeth the acevedo's first Adult Book which I'm so excited for so it's about like three sisters that all kind of have gifts one has a gift to predict to the day when someone will die so when she decides she wants to have a living wake a party to bring her family community together to celebrate the long life she's led her sisters are surprised has she seen her own death or someone else's does she have other motives and she refuses to tell her three other sisters so it follows all four sisters and it spans the three days prior to the wake it traces the lives of each Martin woman weaving together past and present in Santa and Santo Domenica and New York City so I love Elizabeth Acevedo she has such beautiful writing so I'm very excited that she's going into the adult fiction world of the Trap by Catherine Ryan Howard coming out again also on August 1st this one is about a girl um named Lucy who's one year ago her sister Nikki left to meet friends at a party at a pub in Dublin but never came home and she's the third Irish woman to disappear within that year um and so nobody knows what's happened to these girls and then we follow Angela who works the civilian paper pusher in the missing persons unit and then it says the um she starts to look into these cases and notices there's like a Common Thread and then we also follow a nameless man the rest of the night his latest victim in the back seat he's going to tell her everything from the beginning and soon she'll realize you what you don't know can't hurt you so I've read two other books by the author and the thing with her books is the plot always sound amazing I will say this is probably her weakest sounding one plot because one of her books that I read that I love was about a book it's like a book within a book about a serial killer discovering that there's a book written about him and that was crazy then we had another book where it was kind and her other book I read was about this actress that got an opportunity to film this horror movie in the middle of nowhere so both of them had such good plots the execution wasn't there so I'm interested in this one just because the plot does sound somewhat interesting but I wonder if it's going to be the same I don't know I have a hard time with this author honestly we have the roommate act by Ashley by Allison Ashley coming out August 1st so this is about two friends that have this proposition Claire and her roommate Graham and they put a proposition together if they're still single when they turn 40 they will take the proverbial plunge together and be friends with benefits pretty much and maybe it's the one maybe it's the moment but she figures it's a safe deal and so just as things begin to heat up way up before the proposed deadline Graham's injured in a serious rock climbing accident and he needs Claire's help to heal she'll do whatever it takes to nurse it back to health because she is a nurse even if it means moving in and so but with this no strings Arrangement taking a couple of intern keeping four now and turning into forever isn't easy as they plan we all know the movies there's the movie called friends with benefits there was another one came out the same year called No Strings Attached we all know what's going to happen but we'll still read it and enjoy it and we have dark Corners by Megan golden coming out August 8th this is kind of the sequel slash companion novel to the night swim which and I loved it by her so that follows a character named Rachel who is like a crime and mystery podcast remember following Rachel again and then this time the FBI comes to get her help because they can't figure out this case and it deals with like the internet and the dark things that hide on the internet and basically it says Rachel is forced to confront the very real dangers that lurk in the dark corners of the internet which is a very real thing so I'm very excited for this one I really do enjoy Megan Golden's books and I'm very excited that we're going to see more of Rachel because I really love the night swim that much and we have another type of podcasting one called none of this is true by Lisa Jewell also coming on August 8th this one is about a character named Alex who is celebrating her 45th birthday party at her local pub and she's a popular podcaster as well and she crosses path with this unassuming woman called Josie and Josie is also celebrating her 45th birthday they are Birthday Twins what do you know and basically they bum it to each other again a few days later um and Josie's been listening to Alex's podcast and thinks she might be an interesting subject for them get more and more entwined and she slowly starts to realize that Josie has been hiding some very dark secrets and before she knows it Josie has put her way into Alex's life and into her home um so just the answers but as quickly as she arrives she disappears only then she discovers that juicy has left a terrible secret and Legacy in her wake and Alex has become the subject or her own true crime podcast so that that feels really interesting with me that's what's really interesting to me so I've read a few of Lisa Jules books before they are very much Hit or Miss for me so I'm a sucker for any type of book especially if it's the Mr rufo that has a podcast element into it because I think those two go hand in hand so well together so I am very excited for this one but also apprehensive F1 that I'm just so excited for it's called my roommate is a vampire by Jenna Levin coming out August 29th the cover drew me in myself the neck guy and then I saw the title it's called my roommate is a vampire and I was like hell freaking yes because we all know the one key word you get me to read a book is vampire I did love Twilight but I love Buffy first Buffy was my first OG vampire introduction and that'll never ever change team Angel forever anyway this is about a kid named Cassie who really is looking for a place to live and she finds this like perfect apartment for this guy that needs a roommate she's like this is just so good to be true and it really is and so basically she meets her new name her new red her new roommate named Frederick J Fitzwilliam which is like I don't know of a 20's name if I heard it that'd be that and he sleeps all day and is out all night on business and talks like he walked out of a Regency romance novel he also leaves Cassie heart melting notes around the apartment cares about her art and asks about her day but then she finds some blood like a blood bag in the freaking fridge and she's like what is going on and he's like oh you know what I'm a vampire but I also have a proposition for you dot dot dot will she become a human blood big I don't know we'll have to find out but either way it looks like it's gonna be a fun romancy funny time and I'm here for it I'm all I'm expecting is just a fun time out of this book and I hope that it will accomplish that the last book I have is good good bad girl I think that's what it's called by Alice Feeney coming on August 29th this is 20 years after a baby is stolen from a stroller a woman is murdered and care home the two crimes are somehow linked and a good bad girl maybe the key to discovering the truth and it's about a girl named Edith who's been tricked into a nursing home but at 80 years young she's planning her Escape his own daughter won't speak to her and somehow someone news about to knock on her door and their attentions aren't good and basically it's about two women that are in a nursing home um with every reason to distrust each other the woman must solve the mystery of three suspects two murders and one victim if they do they might find out what happened to the baby who disappeared and the mother who lost her and the connections that bind them I have read a few of Alex Phoenix books before my favorite of hers is Daisy dark which came out last year so I'm very excited for this one like I'm really excited so there you have all of these summer book releases that I am so excited to read there is a lot of them will I read all of these that I mentioned I hope so I'm sure there's a lot I'm forgetting but either way these are the ones I'm most excited for and yeah I cannot wait to read them if you've heard of these books and it gets you excited for any of them please let me know down in the comments again thank you so much for as as always thank you so much for watching and I will see you in my next video bye foreignhello everyone my name is Heather and welcome back to the channel bookables today I'm here to share with you all of the amazing summer book releases that I am Garcia coming out July 18th I have read one book by this author Mexican Gothic which I did really enjoy this one sounds really cool in the cover the cover wins easily like the best cover I love it kind of have gifts one has a gift to predict to the day when someone will die so when she decides she wants to have a living wake a party to bring her family community together to celebrate the long life she's led her sisters are surprised has she seen her own death or someone else's does she have other motives and she refuses to tell her three other sisters so it follows all four sisters and it spans the three days prior to the wake it traces the lives of each Martin woman weaving together past and present in Santa and Santo Domenica and New York City so I love Elizabeth Acevedo she has such beautiful writing so I'm very excited that she's going into the adult fiction world of the Trap by Catherine Ryan Howard coming out again also on August 1st this one is about a girl um named Lucy who's one year ago her sister Nikki left to meet friends at a party at a pub in Dublin but never came home and she's the third Irish woman to disappear within that year um and so nobody knows what's happened to these girls and then we follow Angela who works the civilian paper pusher in the missing persons unit and then it says the um she starts to look into these cases and notices there's like a Common Thread and then we also follow a nameless man the rest of the night his latest victim in the back seat he's going to tell her everything from the beginning and soon she'll realize you what you don't know can't hurt you so I've read two other books by the author and the thing with her books is the plot always sound amazing I will say this is probably her weakest sounding one plot because one of her books that I read that I love was about a book it's like a book within a book about a serial killer discovering that there's a book written about him and that was crazy then we had another book where it was kind and her other book I read was about this actress that got an opportunity to film this horror movie in the middle of nowhere so both of them had such good plots the execution wasn't there so I'm interested in this one just because the plot does sound somewhat interesting but I wonder if it's going to be the same I don't know I have a hard time with this author honestly we have the roommate act by Ashley by Allison Ashley coming out August 1st so this is about two friends that have this proposition Claire and her roommate Graham and they put a proposition together if they're still single when they turn 40 they will take the proverbial plunge together and be friends with benefits pretty much and maybe it's the one maybe it's the moment but she figures it's a safe deal and so just as things begin to heat up way up before the proposed deadline Graham's injured in a serious rock climbing accident and he needs Claire's help to heal she'll do whatever it takes to nurse it back to health because she is a nurse even if it means moving in and so but with this no strings Arrangement taking a couple of intern keeping four now and turning into forever isn't easy as they plan we all know the movies there's the movie called friends with benefits there was another one came out the same year called No Strings Attached we all know what's going to happen but we'll still read it and enjoy it and we have dark Corners by Megan golden coming out August 8th this is kind of the sequel slash companion novel to the night swim which and I loved it by her so that follows a character named Rachel who is like a crime and mystery podcast remember following Rachel again and then this time the FBI comes to get her help because they can't figure out this case and it deals with like the internet and the dark things that hide on the internet and basically it says Rachel is forced to confront the very real dangers that lurk in the dark corners of the internet which is a very real thing so I'm very excited for this one I really do enjoy Megan Golden's books and I'm very excited that we're going to see more of Rachel because I really love the night swim that much and we have another type of podcasting one called none of this is true by Lisa Jewell also coming on August 8th this one is about a character named Alex who is celebrating her 45th birthday party at her local pub and she's a popular podcaster as well and she crosses path with this unassuming woman called Josie and Josie is also celebrating her 45th birthday they are Birthday Twins what do you know and basically they bum it to each other again a few days later um and Josie's been listening to Alex's podcast and thinks she might be an interesting subject for them get more and more entwined and she slowly starts to realize that Josie has been hiding some very dark secrets and before she knows it Josie has put her way into Alex's life and into her home um so just the answers but as quickly as she arrives she disappears only then she discovers that juicy has left a terrible secret and Legacy in her wake and Alex has become the subject or her own true crime podcast so that that feels really interesting with me that's what's really interesting to me so I've read a few of Lisa Jules books before they are very much Hit or Miss for me so I'm a sucker for any type of book especially if it's the Mr rufo that has a podcast element into it because I think those two go hand in hand so well together so I am very excited for this one but also apprehensive F1 that I'm just so excited for it's called my roommate is a vampire by Jenna Levin coming out August 29th the cover drew me in myself the neck guy and then I saw the title it's called my roommate is a vampire and I was like hell freaking yes because we all know the one key word you get me to read a book is vampire I did love Twilight but I love Buffy first Buffy was my first OG vampire introduction and that'll never ever change team Angel forever anyway this is about a kid named Cassie who really is looking for a place to live and she finds this like perfect apartment for this guy that needs a roommate she's like this is just so good to be true and it really is and so basically she meets her new name her new red her new roommate named Frederick J Fitzwilliam which is like I don't know of a 20's name if I heard it that'd be that and he sleeps all day and is out all night on business and talks like he walked out of a Regency romance novel he also leaves Cassie heart melting notes around the apartment cares about her art and asks about her day but then she finds some blood like a blood bag in the freaking fridge and she's like what is going on and he's like oh you know what I'm a vampire but I also have a proposition for you dot dot dot will she become a human blood big I don't know we'll have to find out but either way it looks like it's gonna be a fun romancy funny time and I'm here for it I'm all I'm expecting is just a fun time out of this book and I hope that it will accomplish that the last book I have is good good bad girl I think that's what it's called by Alice Feeney coming on August 29th this is 20 years after a baby is stolen from a stroller a woman is murdered and care home the two crimes are somehow linked and a good bad girl maybe the key to discovering the truth and it's about a girl named Edith who's been tricked into a nursing home but at 80 years young she's planning her Escape his own daughter won't speak to her and somehow someone news about to knock on her door and their attentions aren't good and basically it's about two women that are in a nursing home um with every reason to distrust each other the woman must solve the mystery of three suspects two murders and one victim if they do they might find out what happened to the baby who disappeared and the mother who lost her and the connections that bind them I have read a few of Alex Phoenix books before my favorite of hers is Daisy dark which came out last year so I'm very excited for this one like I'm really excited so there you have all of these summer book releases that I am so excited to read there is a lot of them will I read all of these that I mentioned I hope so I'm sure there's a lot I'm forgetting but either way these are the ones I'm most excited for and yeah I cannot wait to read them if you've heard of these books and it gets you excited for any of them please let me know down in the comments again thank you so much for as as always thank you so much for watching and I will see you in my next video bye foreign\n"
