Exhaust Shot Put - BMW M2 vs Honda Civic Type R vs Jeep SRT8 vs Caterham 620S _ Track&Field
Welcome to Day Three of the Carwow Games: The Shotput Event
The shotput is a classic test of explosive strength, requiring the ability to hurl an object with very little run up. Today's event is inspired by one of the most childish pranks you can pull - jamming something up someone's exhaust pipe. Our carefully placed regulation-sized car squishy ball will be released through each car's exhaust system, and the engine that propels the balls furthest will win. We'll be adding up the distance traveled by each ball for cars with more than one exhaust pipe, with the winner being the car with the total highest distance.
Our contestants today include representatives from Germany, America, Great Britain, and Japan. Let's meet them! First up, we have the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 from America, a unique entry in this event as it will be attempting to launch two balls at once. The 6.4L engine is certainly powerful, but how far can it Chuck out these balls? As we watch, our judges are measuring and it's a solid benchmark of 16.43%, which looks impressive and unbeatable. Oh my God, it's a long one! Our judge is now confirming that the distance is indeed 28 meters, setting a new bar for this event.
Next up, we have the Honda Civic Type R from Japan. Its full Pipe exhaust will help propel the four balls down the track, but will there be enough pressure to get a good distance? The start of this event was quite shocking, as the four balls traveled about the same length - not very far at all. It might be time for an early onson for team Japan on this event. The total distance for the four balls is just 14.06 meters, which puts it towards the lower end of the pack.
Finally, we have the BMW M2 from Germany, another quad-piped entry in this competition. How will it fare? That's better than expected - our judges are measuring and the grand total comes out to be 22.7 meters! This beats the Katrum's score, so the gold medal is now up for grabs.
And the Medal Table!
The results are in, and we have a complete opposite of normal sporting events on our hands. Team GB takes the lead with one gold medal and one silver, Japan is in second place with its solitary gold medal, Germany comes in third with one silver and one bronze, and at the bottom of the medal table is America with two bronze.
