Let's get some space over here oh okay so it's nice in here let's turn the ac on back here and it also has dual ac controls in the center you have controls for your seats you don't have any infotainment here so i can't show you any screen but there is a setting for the massaging seat you have your heated seats and cooled seats right here let's turn that on no that's heating oh no it's too hot cooling there we go and right here we have a full array of switches that controls everything from the sun shades to the windows to the shades up here to the shades back there so it really is quite nice and they can also let's see if you can see it yep there we go so they can also recline oh yeah so it's not going to be like the full private plane experience full business class experience but let's see how far this guy can go so i'm trying to push this all right i think this is as much of the seat can go but there is plenty of legroom here and honestly i think if i didn't have this seat all the way in the forward position you would still have more legroom here than i do over there it seems a little bit more cramped in that car for some reason maybe the wheelbase is shorter or maybe the cabin space a little shorter i don't know but this car actually seems like it's a little bit more spacious it definitely is a little bit more spartan if you can call it that but you have some uh some space here for things and junk i'm not going to get into that but all in all for the value this is a fantastic place to be

is this car a better deal than this car and the answer is yes obviously because this car was five times the amount of this car however this may be five times the car because every little thing in that car is so much better than it is in here and this was already such an amazing deal that honestly i don't think you could get anything like this for any sort of money sub a hundred thousand dollars these cars were 225 000 brand new this one was about 145 but let's just call it 200 if you're accounting for inflation and all that other stuff so this car honestly is one of the best if not the best daily drivers i've ever had one thing i'm very big on is driving experience and the fact that you can drive this car for essentially the price of a used suv in today's money is is just insane

now that doesn't take anything away from this car but if i went from this car back into this one i would always miss this even more than the money i'd miss i mean there's a forty or fifty thousand dollar delta between these two cars and purchase price but honestly i'd pay that and then some to get this experience and again i'm not discounting this car at all because let's say for toyota camry money or honda civic money you'd get a v12 twin turbo with every gizmo and gadget you could ever want it has a timeless look it is very very handsome and honestly it's a pretty practical car you can fit five people very comfortably with some luggage the fuel mileage is not going to be great i mean honestly both of them are not going to be any good but these cars aren't about that they are about the experience and the experience on this is awesome but the experience on this is exceptional

s500 that was actually the first s-class i owned then i had a 2004 s600 then i got this w221 s600 and then the w222 s65 and they keep on getting better and better but i think there's a cost for that because this car cost five times what this car cost me and they do depreciate quite a bit so none of these were in the realm of their original msrp which is basically 200 grand for each of them so that value is what i'm going to determine today because i can't afford both these cars i can't have one just sitting in the shop doing nothing so at the end of this video i'm going to determine which cars i could do that all day so what i'm going to do is i'm going to go over specifics with this car and then compare it to that one to see which is actually the better value so let's start with the exterior right off the bat you can see that this is styled much more aggressively than this car a lot of people actually likened the w221 mercedes to like the mazda 3 with its angled looks but honestly i like the way it looks it's very stately it has a lot of presence but if we look at this car i mean every line seems sculpted there is nothing that looks economy car or rental car about it it just looks very very special the only thing that kind of irks me about this car is the rear kind of three-quarter it kind of falls off and it's a little bit too c-class-ish and that's not a bad thing but i think that if you can't tell the difference between a c a e and an s-class then what's the point of spending two hundred thousand dollars on a car i did not spend two hundred thousand dollars in this car but maybe i want to have people think i did at the back it's very stately and undramatic you can see the exhaust tips right there they're recessed there's a little bit of a carbon fiber lip there i don't know what that's for well i know what it's for it's just for uh cracking it really does look very clean and elegant and over here honestly i like this i like the arches here it actually makes it look a little bit more aggressive a little bit more sporty and you definitely won't confuse this with a c or an e-class i actually like the way this looks a lot better especially if you kind of stand back and you can see the whole width of the thing it just looks like a very very special car even though this is a very sort of cheap car right now it's not too dramatic but it definitely has some protruding exhaust pipes there and my car has had a muffler delete so it sounds a little bit better i mean it's not loud or anything but just gives it a little bit more of that aggression that i want from a twin turbo v12 the multi-spoke wheels on this amg i really dig a lot so this is not the original color of the wheels i think they were like chrome or like a brushed chrome something like that from the factory and somebody wanted to just paint them black because that was a good idea they also powder coated them which means that taking that powder coat off is a big pain in the butt so i'm going to do that at some point but i think if i got this back to its original chrome or maybe a bronze like it is in the final edition of the s65 i think that would look really really cool but these multi-spoke wheels are fine but these i i kind of dig even more this was the most desirable wheel on the s600 and the w221 in general these are actually notoriously hard to clean if you have something other than the dry ice machine that i had but this looks like very maybachish it looks very you know like a car with a v12 it looks very limousine like it's super autobahn destroyer i love these monoblock looking wheels so honestly i think this is probably my favorite wheel out of any wheel on the mercedes s-class of any generation if you come up top the new car has a completely glass roof and this is a panoramic roof option this actually comes up and it tilts back and it opens up and there's a sunroof back here that doesn't open up the shade just opens up one thing that i don't really dig too much is the fact that they had white here they had a body matched color here and i think it just breaks it up a little too much so you have the dark dark and then just white and in the front there's also black and you can see that mine has a little bit of clear coat feeling because well i mean this is florida and this car was in texas before so it's probably in the sun for a while and the clear coat just got eaten up i think if this was black this would make a lot more sense so i think i'm gonna have to repaint this or wrap it or something but if you take a look over here you see that this problem was already taken care of so not only do we have the panoramic glass roof uh this is actually a little bit smaller this sunroof panel uh but this panoramic panel it's it looks it looks really amazing so it goes from here which is a reflective black and i think this might actually be glass so it's glass glass glass and it's the entire back of the car i mean this is super super hot i'm barely touching it it is probably like you can fry an egg on this like for sure and it just has no separation it gives it a nice very streamlined look as opposed to that where it has like this weird little targa thing right there one thing i love about this car is the tail light and the headlight design now the headlight design i am actually changing uh but i love the way they look here um i'm changing it for the newer style which has like the three little led strips but they're largely the same in terms of like the led intelligent light system like the led lights that are in this are just phenomenal and it looks really really cool it looks high class and it looks high dollar it's not really the case here though i mean these are by xenons they turn and dip and slice and dice they are very good but they're older the design is older and they look a little less special i mean this looks just like kind of shiny plastic which is what it is and if we come back here they are leds i believe maybe maybe not so i'm not even sure if these are leds but these just look like regular tail lights that you would get in any car in the mid 2000s which is what they were they don't have to be super special but it didn't really look like you know a hundred something plus thousand dollar car when you turn the tail lights on but that definitely does that looks super special now let's talk about the engines the power plants for these amazing cars and the power plants are actually quite similar so right here you have a 6 liter v12 with twin turbos the engine designation for this is a m279 and this is the final edition of mercedes-benz awesome v12 now i know that they're going to have a mybach version or something but in the amg this is the final one and honestly it is a swan song it makes 621 horsepower and 738 foot pounds of torque this thing is hand built by daniel uh schnabel daniel if you're on facebook or instagram or something just hit me up i want to know what it took to put this energy together so this engine is very smooth and it has one of the best power deliveries of any engine i've ever had in any car and you can see that the layout is quite well it's covered up with all these covers and you can't see much but if you come over here this is a little bit more like and car so this is very similar it's not a six liter it's a 5.5 liter it's not hand built so this is built by i don't know feet or something this is a m275 engine this has 5.5 liters it has around 493 horsepower and 500 something foot-pounds of torque i don't know but this has a euro charge tune on it meaning that this puts out 600 horsepower and 700 foot pounds of torque and yes it is very very fast so you can see all the components and stuff are basically in the same position as they are here here they just have more covers in front of them but it's not a super hard engine to work on in fact you can actually take off this well i don't want to take it off right now but it's fairly easy to take off these covers and work on the engine now the achilles heel of this engine is the coil packs so there's two coil packs and in one of my previous videos i replaced both of them and all the spark plugs there are two spark plugs per cylinder which means that there's 24 spark plugs in a v12 engine and each of those spark plugs is like 20 or 30 bucks so that's a lot of money for spark plugs so on this engine you still have the two spark plugs per cylinder and they are the same spark plugs that you use on that but you don't have the coil packs that cost a lot of money on this each coil pack each bank of coils cost fifteen hundred dollars so three thousand dollars is what you'd spend to upgrade and repair these coil packs and honestly i mean it's it's a big undertaking in terms of your wallet because why would you spend three thousand dollars just to do maintenance so they fixed that with this each cylinder gets its own coil pack and those coil packs are actually very reasonable so if one goes bad you can just replace that one and you save a ton of money one thing that sets this car apart from that one in a big way is a transmission now this has a seven speed automatic it's a regular torque converter automatic but it has an amg tune on it meaning that it has a manual mode and it shifts very very quickly on this there is a five speed which was in every mercedes and actually every uh chrysler product since the mid 90s and it doesn't mean that it's bad it just means that it doesn't shift as fast as a modern automatic would now this wasn't meant for fast shifting this was meant for comfort and this definitely takes all the torque that this engine can put out without blowing up which is an awesome thing because that's not something that jaguar or bmw could say mercedes really did it right with pairing their engines and transmissions but this operates a little bit more like a slush box and this is more of a modern very snappy automatic transmission now while the engine and transmission in this make this car a bit more sporty than the regular s-class offering there is another thing that makes it a bit more special and that is the exhaust note but having said that this car doesn't sound too bad on its own because before i got this car the mufflers the back mufflers were deleted which makes it sound like this okay now let me get out of this hot florida sun and go into what is my favorite part of any s-class the interior now please excuse the uh slight mess here i do actually drive this car every day so let's get in it is a nice place to be but it's also nice and hot so i'm going to turn on the engine okay so right off the bat you see that everything is super premium in here you have leather here you have a separate stitching of leather here this is actually a designio uh two-tone interior we have carbon fiber here we have some aluminum trim here and all the buttons look very high-end we have our cooled seats let's just turn those on we have our burmester high-end audio these kind of roll out every time you turn on the car it really is a nice place to be you have these twin 12 inch lcd displays i love the center stack here it's it's awesome and the amg version has these extra two gauges we have our well you can't see it now but there is a heads-up display that you can almost kind of sort of see over there and it just follows all around the car nothing here is an afterthought the design is just amazing you have the buttons that just flow from the trim here all the way down you can actually close this up so this creates just a waterfall effect then you have buttons all around here and it's just pure design which i love and you have a iwc clock just to make it a little extra fancy now one thing that i don't like in this is that well if you leave it out in the sun like i'm doing right now this happens this literally happened this morning uh that has separated and that is a leather dash so the glue underneath the leather has separated because the florida sun and probably the texas sun before it really did a number on this thing so i'm gonna have to fix that which is not fun probably a dash has to come out now looking down here you see that the seats are quilted they have this amazing pattern and they look super plush because they are i mean there is so much padding here it's not even funny these are amg seats so it just has an amg logo here i don't know if these are actually different from the regular seats but it's nice to have a little logo here even though if you're wearing something with an open back and uh it's hot outside this can actually burn you so yeah it's it's quite hot right now now the steering wheel is something i got after market but this is a 2020 oem steering wheel and i love the look of these buttons i love the functionality i like that there's this little touch function that does stuff for the screen you can control the volume and your phone functions and it has an amg logo with carbon fiber that matches the carbon fiber over here but let's talk about some features here that really make it stand out first off it has some semi-autonomous modes now when i say semi-autonomous i want to be very very careful this car can't drive itself no car can drive itself despite what any tesla owner tells you but these cars have very good driver assist programs so you have this guy right here this guy right here and well let's just i mean these two are good enough so let's say we put it into drive and then we engage our distronic plus that distronic plus will engage that steering wheel right there right now it's gray but if it turns green that means that it's sensing the road in front of you and can actually keep the steering wheel in the middle of the lane and it does that because it has these two there's stereo cameras up here one is actually night vision but there's like stereo cameras that look at the road and will tell you if there's anything in the road that will potentially be an issue in fact here's what it looks like at night in the glove box you have a fragrance dispenser which is amazing this is freeside mood but you guys have seen that when i first got this car but it just puts out just enough fragrance that your nose doesn't get used to it and it smells very very nice in here now the glove box is actually very small so it only has space for this little canister and the owner's manual and then that's about it like there's a little small cubby hole here you can put a pen in there and then that is it but it does have some more storage there's storage in here there's a little bit more storage in here in the cup holder area you can actually fold this down and there's some cd why would there be cds and who's listening to cds this is a 2015 car nobody should have cds but by far the best part of any s-class interior is the back seat so let's get comfortable right off the bat you can press this button and you can control the front seat let's move this forward this automatically comes down and let's get in whoo so it is a little bit hot in here but that's okay because i can turn on the ac back here and we have our entertainment display which should turn on there we go and comes with a handy dandy remote let's do a activating massage and you guys can't feel it but i am getting a massage right now in the back of my car now you put this guy down and there's more cup holders there's another speaker for the burmester high end and there's a little sunroof here and all these seats are reclinable this is the lap of luxury i mean i could even put this thing into full private jet mode takes a little while that that's going down so i did this once when i first got the car but it just it's such a cool party trick i mean look look how much i'm fully extended out this is just pressed up into the dash now my seat's going back and now this is going up i have a little foot rest here with a pillow and last one oh look at it little foot wrist so now you can lay down and ah this is nice this is super nice but you can see the difference between the seat all the way in the front and this is like a regular seating position it's like two feet of difference oh boy see this is why i bought the car even though this is obviously where i'm never gonna sit i think whoever sits here is gonna appreciate it so now that we've seen what the new hotness can deliver what does old reliable have in store so it's a little bit more spartan in here but not by much i actually do like the wood on gray leather it looks very stately so let's take a look oh my gosh is it hot in here let's turn it on and it's the same button to turn it on as the new one it is uh it's 102 degrees and it feels like 150 in here so right off the bat you see that it's still leather lined you have stitching right here but it's just one color it's not like a dual tone now there is a designer interior for this car but this car was not equipped with it but that's okay nobody's perfect so we have these buttons that do look very premium uh you have your heated and cooled seats let's put the cooled seats on and all these buttons are actually very different from the new ones i actually prefer these because instead of like the regular toggle switches up and down is a separate switch now over here you have the same sort of controls as you have in the new one you also have a night vision let's see if the night vision is able to be turned on nope only when it is dark so apparently having the hood up doesn't constitute night time for this car but that's okay now we just come around you see the wood on the dashboard you have some trim that's aluminum and they do have a carbon fiber version for this i believe that's in the s65 version of the w221 but it's okay i do like the wood i like the clock in here it's still super duper fancy and this is still an awesome design element you have dual ac on the front and on the back and you have this pretty good lcd screen so you can actually turn it from side to side and you have a vehicle display it shows you the car here it really is pretty cool for 2007. you have an lcd display here it's not as good as the new one obviously these are all analog gauges and they work perfectly fine i actually like the very spartan look of these gauges it's not too cluttered and it's very elegant coming around to the seats and the seats are again very very plush they have a ton of give in them and they are just as comfortable as the new ones they don't look as cool though they don't have that quilting and they're not amg seats which actually could help you because they don't have that little metal thing that could burn you if you have an open back shirt looking in here there's more room in here you can fit some books we have the owner's manual i have like an ipod cable and you can probably fit like a few pieces of paper in there so that is a plus on this car now there's no burmester high-end audio here no tweeters that come out of the dash but there is a harman kardon sound system and here's a relic of the past so there is a pcmci slot right here and you can put an sd card in here which i haven't tried i don't know if you can actually read any media from the sd card but i assume that they thought that this was going to be the media of the future so they included it here you also have a 6 cd changer here and you got your power outlet here your cigarette lighter your ash tray and you have two cup holders this cup holder needs a little bit of cleaning and just like last time let's go into the back of the s-class the older s-class and see what it looks like and just like the newer one you press this button and you can control the like the way this looks a lot better especially if you kind of stand back and you can see the whole width of the thing it just looks like a very very special car even though this is a very sort of cheap car right now it's not too dramatic but it definitely has some protruding exhaust pipes there and my car has had a muffler delete so it sounds a little bit better i mean it's not loud or anything but just gives it a little bit more of that aggression that i want from a twin turbo v12 the multi-spoke wheels on this amg i really dig a lot so this is not the original color of the wheels i think they were like chrome or like a brushed chrome something like that from the factory and somebody wanted to just paint them black because that was a good idea they also powder coated them which means that taking that powder coat off is a big pain in the butt so i'm going to do that at some point but i think if i got this back to its original chrome or maybe a bronze like it is in the final edition of the s65 i think that would look really really cool but these multi-spoke wheels are fine but these i i kind of dig even more this was the most desirable wheel on the s600 and the w221 in general these are actually notoriously hard to clean if you have something other than the dry ice machine that i had but this looks like very maybachish it looks very you know like a car with a v12 it looks very limousine like it's super autobahn destroyer i love these monoblock looking wheels so honestly i think this is probably my favorite wheel out of any wheel on the mercedes s-class of any generation if you come up top the new car has a completely glass roof and this is a panoramic roof option this actually comes up and it tilts back and it opens up and there's a sunroof back here that doesn't open up the shade just opens up one thing that i don't really dig too much is the fact that they had white here they had a body matched color here and i think it just breaks it up a little too much so you have the dark dark and then just white and in the front there's also black and you can see that mine has a little bit of clear coat feeling because well i mean this is florida and this car was in texas before so it's probably in the sun for a while and the clear coat just got eaten up i think if this was black this would make a lot more sense so i think i'm gonna have to repaint this or wrap it or something but if you take a look over here you see that this problem was already taken care of so not only do we have the panoramic glass roof uh this is actually a little bit smaller this sunroof panel uh but this panoramic panel it's it looks it looks really amazing so it goes from here which is a reflective black and i think this might actually be glass so it's glass glass glass and it's the entire back of the car i mean this is super super hot i'm barely touching it it is probably like you can fry an egg on this like for sure and it just has no separation it gives it a nice very streamlined look as opposed to that where it has like this weird little targa thing right there one thing i love about this car is the tail light and the headlight design now the headlight design i am actually changing uh but i love the way they look here um i'm changing it for the newer style which has like the three little led strips but they're largely the same in terms of like the led intelligent light system like the led lights that are in this are just phenomenal and it looks really really cool it looks high class and it looks high dollar it's not really the case here though i mean these are by xenons they turn and dip and slice and dice they are very good but they're older the design is older and they look a little less special i mean this looks just like kind of shiny plastic which is what it is and if we come back here they are leds i believe maybe maybe not so i'm not even sure if these are leds but these just look like regular tail lights that you would get in any car in the mid 2000s which is what they were they don't have to be super special but it didn't really look like you know a hundred something plus thousand dollar car when you turn the tail lights on but that definitely does that looks super special now let's talk about the engines the power plants for these amazing cars and the power plants are actually quite similar so right here you have a 6 liter v12 with twin turbos the engine designation for this is a m279 and this is the final edition of mercedes-benz awesome v12 now i know that they're going to have a mybach version or something but in the amg this is the final one and honestly it is a swan song it makes 621 horsepower and 738 foot pounds of torque this thing is hand built by daniel uh schnabel daniel if you're on facebook or instagram or something just hit me up i want to know what it took to put this energy together so this engine is very smooth and it has one of the best power deliveries of any engine i've ever had in any car and you can see that the layout is quite well it's covered up with all these covers and you can't see much but if you come over here this is a little bit more like and car so this is very similar it's not a six liter it's a 5.5 liter it's not hand built so this is built by i don't know feet or something this is a m275 engine this has 5.5 liters it has around 493 horsepower and 500 something foot-pounds of torque i don't know but this has a euro charge tune on it meaning that this puts out 600 horsepower and 700 foot pounds of torque and yes it is very very fast so you can see all the components and stuff are basically in the same position as they are here here they just have more covers in front of them but it's not a super hard engine to work on in fact you can actually take off this well i don't want to take it off right now but it's fairly easy to take off these covers and work on the engine now the achilles heel of this engine is the coil packs so there's two coil packs and in one of my previous videos i replaced both of them and all the spark plugs there are two spark plugs per cylinder which means that there's 24 spark plugs in a v12 engine and each of those spark plugs is like 20 or 30 bucks so that's a lot of money for spark plugs so on this engine you still have the two spark plugs per cylinder and they are the same spark plugs that you use on that but you don't have the coil packs that cost a lot of money on this each coil pack each bank of coils cost fifteen hundred dollars so three thousand dollars is what you'd spend to upgrade and repair these coil packs and honestly i mean it's it's a big undertaking in terms of your wallet because why would you spend three thousand dollars just to do maintenance so they fixed that with this each cylinder gets its own coil pack and those coil packs are actually very reasonable so if one goes bad you can just replace that one and you save a ton of money one thing that sets this car apart from that one in a big way is a transmission now this has a seven speed automatic it's a regular torque converter automatic but it has an amg tune on it meaning that it has a manual mode and it shifts very very quickly on this there is a five speed which was in every mercedes and actually every uh chrysler product since the mid 90s and it doesn't mean that it's bad it just means that it doesn't shift as fast as a modern automatic would now this wasn't meant for fast shifting this was meant for comfort and this definitely takes all the torque that this engine can put out without blowing up which is an awesome thing because that's not something that jaguar or bmw could say mercedes really did it right with pairing their engines and transmissions but this operates a little bit more like a slush box and this is more of a modern very snappy automatic transmission now while the engine and transmission in this make this car a bit more sporty than the regular s-class offering there is another thing that makes it a bit more special and that is the exhaust note but having said that this car doesn't sound too bad on its own because before i got this car the mufflers the back mufflers were deleted which makes it sound like this okay now let me get out of this hot florida sun and go into what is my favorite part of any s-class the interior now please excuse the uh slight mess here i do actually drive this car every day so let's get in it is a nice place to be but it's also nice and hot so i'm going to turn on the engine okay so right off the bat you see that everything is super premium in here you have leather here you have a separate stitching of leather here this is actually a designio uh two-tone interior we have carbon fiber here we have some aluminum trim here and all the buttons look very high-end we have our cooled seats let's just turn those on we have our burmester high-end audio these kind of roll out every time you turn on the car it really is a nice place to be you have these twin 12 inch lcd displays i love the center stack here it's it's awesome and the amg version has these extra two gauges we have our well you can't see it now but there is a heads-up display that you can almost kind of sort of see over there and it just follows all around the car nothing here is an afterthought the design is just amazing you have the buttons that just flow from the trim here all the way down you can actually close this up so this creates just a waterfall effect then you have buttons all around here and it's just pure design which i love and you have a iwc clock just to make it a little extra fancy now one thing that i don't like in this is that well if you leave it out in the sun like i'm doing right now this happens this literally happened this morning uh that has separated and that is a leather dash so the glue underneath the leather has separated because the florida sun and probably the texas sun before it really did a number on this thing so i'm gonna have to fix that which is not fun probably a dash has to come out now looking down here you see that the seats are quilted they have this amazing pattern and they look super plush because they are i mean there is so much padding here it's not even funny these are amg seats so it just has an amg logo here i don't know if these are actually different from the regular seats but it's nice to have a little logo here even though if you're wearing something with an open back and uh it's hot outside this can actually burn you so yeah it's it's quite hot right now now the steering wheel is something i got after market but this is a 2020 oem steering wheel and i love the look of these buttons i love the functionality i like that there's this little touch function that does stuff for the screen you can control the volume and your phone functions and it has an amg logo with carbon fiber that matches the carbon fiber over here but let's talk about some features here that really make it stand out first off it has some semi-autonomous modes now when i say semi-autonomous i want to be very very careful this car can't drive itself no car can drive itself despite what any tesla owner tells you but these cars have very good driver assist programs so you have this guy right here this guy right here and well let's just i mean these two are good enough so let's say we put it into drive and then we engage our distronic plus that distronic plus will engage that steering wheel right there right now it's gray but if it turns green that means that it's sensing the road in front of you and can actually keep the steering wheel in the middle of the lane and it does that because it has these two there's stereo cameras up here one is actually night vision but there's like stereo cameras that look at the road and will tell you if there's anything in the road that will potentially be an issue in fact here's what it looks like at night in the glove box you have a fragrance dispenser which is amazing this is freeside mood but you guys have seen that when i first got this car but it just puts out just enough fragrance that your nose doesn't get used to it and it smells very very nice in here now the glove box is actually very small so it only has space for this little canister and the owner's manual and then that's about it like there's a little small cubby hole here you can put a pen in there and then that is it but it does have some more storage there's storage in here there's a little bit more storage in here in the cup holder area you can actually fold this down and there's some cd why would there be cds and who's listening to cds this is a 2015 car nobody should have cds but by far the best part of any s-class interior is the back seat so let's get comfortable right off the bat you can press this button and you can control the front seat let's move this forward this automatically comes down and let's get in whoo so it is a little bit hot in here but that's okay because i can turn on the ac back here and we have our entertainment display which should turn on there we go and comes with a handy dandy remote let's do a activating massage and you guys can't feel it but i am getting a massage right now in the back of my car now you put this guy down and there's more cup holders there's another speaker for the burmester high end and there's a little sunroof here and all these seats are reclinable this is the lap of luxury i mean i could even put this thing into full private jet mode takes a little while that that's going down so i did this once when i first got the car but it just it's such a cool party trick i mean look look how much i'm fully extended out this is just pressed up into the dash now my seat's going back and now this is going up i have a little foot rest here with a pillow and last one oh look at it little foot wrist so now you can lay down and ah this is nice this is super nice but you can see the difference between the seat all the way in the front and this is like a regular seating position it's like two feet of difference oh boy see this is why i bought the car even though this is obviously where i'm never gonna sit i think whoever sits here is gonna appreciate it so now that we've seen what the new hotness can deliver what does old reliable have in store so it's a little bit more spartan in here but not by much i actually do like the wood on gray leather it looks very stately so let's take a look oh my gosh is it hot in here let's turn it on and it's the same button to turn it on as the new one it is uh it's 102 degrees and it feels like 150 in here so right off the bat you see that it's still leather lined you have stitching right here but it's just one color it's not like a dual tone now there is a designer interior for this car but this car was not equipped with it but that's okay nobody's perfect so we have these buttons that do look very premium uh you have your heated and cooled seats let's put the cooled seats on and all these buttons are actually very different from the new ones i actually prefer these because instead of like the regular toggle switches up and down is a separate switch now over here you have the same sort of controls as you have in the new one you also have a night vision let's see if the night vision is able to be turned on nope only when it is dark so apparently having the hood up doesn't constitute night time for this car but that's okay now we just come around you see the wood on the dashboard you have some trim that's aluminum and they do have a carbon fiber version for this i believe that's in the s65 version of the w221 but it's okay i do like the wood i like the clock in here it's still super duper fancy and this is still an awesome design element you have dual ac on the front and on the back and you have this pretty good lcd screen so you can actually turn it from side to side and you have a vehicle display it shows you the car here it really is pretty cool for 2007. you have an lcd display here it's not as good as the new one obviously these are all analog gauges and they work perfectly fine i actually like the very spartan look of these gauges it's not too cluttered and it's very elegant coming around to the seats and the seats are again very very plush they have a ton of give in them and they are just as comfortable as the new ones they don't look as cool though they don't have that quilting and they're not amg seats which actually could help you because they don't have that little metal thing that could burn you if you have an open back shirt looking in here there's more room in here you can fit some books we have the owner's manual i have like an ipod cable and you can probably fit like a few pieces of paper in there so that is a plus on this car now there's no burmester high-end audio here no tweeters that come out of the dash but there is a harman kardon sound system and here's a relic of the past so there is a pcmci slot right here and you can put an sd card in here which i haven't tried i don't know if you can actually read any media from the sd card but i assume that they thought that this was going to be the media of the future so they included it here you also have a 6 cd changer here and you got your power outlet here your cigarette lighter your ash tray and you have two cup holders this cup holder needs a little bit of cleaning and just like last time let's go into the back of the s-class the older s-class and see what it looks like and just like the newer one you press this button and you can control the front seat let's get some space over here oh okay so it's nice in here let's turn the ac on back here and it also has dual ac controls in the center you have controls for your seats you don't have any infotainment here so i can't show you any screen but there is a setting for the massaging seat you have your heated seats and cooled seats right here let's turn that on no that's heating oh no it's too hot cooling there we go and right here we have a full array of switches that controls everything from the sun shades to the windows to the shades up here to the shades back there so it really is quite nice and they can also let's see if you can see it yep there we go so they can also recline oh yeah so it's not going to be like the full private plane experience full business class experience but let's see how far this guy can go so i'm trying to push this all right i think this is as much of the seat can go but there is plenty of legroom here and honestly i think if i didn't have this seat all the way in the forward position you would still have more legroom here than i do over there it seems a little bit more cramped in that car for some reason maybe the wheelbase is shorter or maybe the cabin space a little shorter i don't know but this car actually seems like it's a little bit more spacious it definitely is a little bit more spartan if you can call it that but you have some uh some space here for things and junk i'm not going to get into that but all in all for the value this is a fantastic place to be so let's get down to brass tacks is this car a better deal than this car and the answer is yes obviously because this car was five times the amount of this car however this may be five times the car because every little thing in that car is so much better than it is in here and this was already such an amazing deal that honestly i don't think you could get anything like this for any sort of money sub a hundred thousand dollars these cars were 225 000 brand new this one was about 145 but let's just call it 200 if you're accounting for inflation and all that other stuff so this car honestly is one of the best if not the best daily drivers i've ever had one thing i'm very big on is driving experience and the fact that you can drive this car for essentially the price of a used suv in today's money is is just insane now that doesn't take anything away from this car but if i went from this car back into this one i would always miss this even more than the money i'd miss i mean there's a forty or fifty thousand dollar delta between these two cars and purchase price but honestly i'd pay that and then some to get this experience and again i'm not discounting this car at all because let's say for toyota camry money or honda civic money you'd get a v12 twin turbo with every gizmo and gadget you could ever want it has a timeless look it is very very handsome and honestly it's a pretty practical car you can fit five people very comfortably with some luggage the fuel mileage is not going to be great i mean honestly both of them are not going to be any good but these cars aren't about that they are about the experience and the experience on this is awesome but the experience on this is exceptional and this is an absolute game changer this with a few mods like the paint on the top and maybe some new bumpers this would be the perfect car for any day of the week and this would also be the perfect car for any day of the week just at a lower price so when i hear you guys talking about how this car was a waste of money because i already have this one i don't agree i think that what you get in this for experience is worth the money and so so much more so i'm definitely going to keep this car which means that this car is going up for
