Who Doesn't Like Everything Bagels?
I'm going to turn everything bagels into chicken strips, so set your oven to 375 and cook along with me. The first thing you want to do is grab up a couple of everything bagels and I've toasted these up and they're about a day old, so they're nice and crisp. Then, we shall slip these into our food processor. If you don't have a food processor kicking around, you can chop it up with a knife or simply put it in a bag and pound it. Just go ahead and give this a few pulses - this is about the texture you want, my friends. About two or three minutes on high, wonderful everything crumbs breadcrumbs into a bowl.
Seasoning Our Bagel Crumbs
Now that we have our bagel crumbs, let's season them with half a cup of parmesan, about half a teaspoon of hot pepper flakes - just for that extra heat - and about a teaspoon of garlic powder. The same amount of onion powder, of course. We'll give this a mix up until everything is nicely combined. And as I always say, guys, you know the seasoning is just a suggestion - just add or omit what you like, according to your taste. This is what I like, okay? Next up, what I have are three boneless skinless chicken breasts. You can use tenderloins too, but I just like the breasts because they're cheaper.
Preparing the Chicken
I'm going to slice these into some nice strips that kind of resemble tenderloins. Then, we'll season our chicken up on both sides with some salt and of course, some ground black pepper. Now we're all seasoned up - let's grab up a piece and into some melted butter, making sure it's nicely coated. And then, into the bagel crumbs - you want them completely coated or as coated as you can get them. Then onto a baking sheet lined with some parchment paper.
Adding Extra Flavor
I should mention that the great thing about the butter is you can even put some hot sauce in the butter - barbecue sauce, whatever you like, but I'm just going to stick with plain butter here to keep it simple. Now we're going into our 350-degree Fahrenheit oven - preheated at 180 degrees Celsius - just until they're beautifully golden brown after 20 minutes at 375.
The Result
Just look at these guys - absolutely spectacular! Yum. Plate them up with a nice salad, and some potato wedges would be nice too. Wow, there you have it, guys - our parmesan everything bagel chicken strips are simply absolutely delicious. Okay, let's grab one up here and see what we have... oh just look at this - absolutely wonderful. So good, just bursting with that everything bagel taste not parmesan - just go together so nicely. This is great - you'll love these. You just have to make them, guys. And of course, I'm going to have more!
