We're Making Glinda's Favorite Food Ever: A Sweet and Spicy Sauce Wings Recipe
We are making Glinda's favorite food ever, and we're making wings! We have three pounds of wings here that just been cut in half, so if you don't mind, just salt and pepper, and just don't overthink it. Then I'm gonna get started on the sauce now. Glinda has asked for this kind of sweet and spicy sauce, Val you are salted and honey, I'm like, "What is an appropriate amount of salt?" I mean, I never do let blend to show you, let me teach you. Is this good? Yeah, I'm mincing some garlic while the salting is happening, pretend like it's a salt and pepper shake. Oh, but you're killing that minced game over there. Yeah, I'm killing the mince game, I'm gonna use two hands for pepper just see what happens. All right, I'm gonna go in with this garlic and you can stick those in the oven. Okay, and you might need some help, I have very long arms so those wings are gonna cook until they're nice and crispy, and while they're cooking, you're gonna help me with the sauce.
Okay, okay, this sweet and sticky sauce will add some heat and a ton of flavor to the wings, all right. So, the garlic is in the butter, then I'm gonna ask you to add in red pepper flakes for a little bit of heat, just shake a little bit in well, you talk about it? Okay, perfect, you guys are all good with heat, right? Oh yeah, I love this, I thought um apricot preserves. This is really cool, so we're gonna add a half a cup, and I always eyeball what's cool about apricot preserves is that they're sweet so they're gonna add that sweet flavor but they're also sticky so they're gonna help everything stick to the wings. Then I'm gonna also need a couple of tablespoons of that brown sugar that's considered one okay wait, is that too much? No, you're good, that's not good.
Okay, queen of the sauce, then the next thing is a little bit of soy sauce, so a couple of teaspoons of soy sauce. Oh, the last thing is some sriracha, now I would add one to two teaspoons of sriracha but I say we go for two, yeah, I'm feeling it. One, one feels like the wings are ready to come out, so let's grab those other ones and I'll help you they're gonna be obviously hot so they're gonna happen, are you friends? Then we'll just set them over here on the stovetop to let them cool off, don't burn yourself, it's a party. There's no time to go to the ER, those are the best kind of they smell good and then Carly there's a big bowl on the back counter if you want to bring it over here we're just gonna put all the wings into this bowl and we're gonna cover them with the sauce and toss them with the sauce. Perfect.
Chelsea was saying baby's first wings, and you guys are spending way too much time together I've never salted wings I've eaten them all right now I think we can pour this sauce over and then if you'll just take your tongs and just kind of toss this in I want to get all of this sauce out of here seriously I am loving this those smell so good they're gonna be so incredible. I'm going to take this from you, love you, and I'm going to ask you to get the serving platter off the back counter just because I need you to do another job it's not that you're not doing a great job all right this looks good now the beauty part of this is they're beautifully coated and we're just gonna basically dump them out on the platter easy guys, actually only like to eat the flats. You're a flat girl I'm a flat girl really will you eat the flats and I like the other part okay that's why we're friends I know me too I know we're home and I know it's cash but you're my friend and I'm gonna put a little bit of chives over the top for a nice little flavor and they're cute.
