Welcome to What You Ate, and today we have something that is probably pretty familiar to a lot of you, but I think it's good to get these ones that um maybe are familiar to people so they can actually try to get them. Something called Yans, and this is the Japanese version, which I found while I was in Japan before.

This one's called Yen Yen, and as you can see, it's in Raji, with English translation. It says U made by the company Magi. Now, let's take a closer look at this one. This one is also the vanilla cream version, and as I mentioned earlier, I found it just the other day, actually found it in Target, which was really surprising.

It's Yanyan double cream with chocolate and strawberry. And as you can see, it comes with sprinkles, um can you see the diagram there? Um it comes with sprinkles, and so, let me show you what I mean by that. Inside, you have these little written in Japanese, which means something has a little panda bear, can you see the Little Panda guy? So cute! Chocolate cream and then you dip it into the sprinkles.

So, when you take it out of the package, it looks like this. Now, let's try it here we go. It's good, it's a bit like um like a Nutella, like a frosting. And then you've got these sprinkles which just taste sugary no real flavors to them but really cute and really fun. This flavor before it's called vanilla cream dip.

So yeah, this is the version that I had when I was growing up. It's a little bit um taller than the Japanese version, American version. It's a bit taller and it has writing on it. Oops, it says "giraffe tallest mamm" oo Fox beware of lies, and then has Little Fox on the end. The cream consistency is a little bit different. It's a little bit um softer M, it's good, it just tastes like vanilla frosting.

My baby's got the hiccups, can you hear him? Okay, so let's see what that's about in terms of numbers of sticks. It looks to be about the same as the Japanese one. Whoa, I just dump sprinkles everywhere these sticks are bare there's nothing on these sticks. So let's try it. Let's try the strawberry here we go. Yummy yummy yummy yummy.

So, that fake pokey pokey strawberry artificial strawberry flavor exactly and creamy um kind of frosting like texture. Now, let's try the chocolate now. And the chocolate seems to be a bit softer in texture more like um frosting again than the Japanese version. The Japanese one tends is a little bit thicker but in terms of flavor I think they're about the same.

Let me see in terms of texture still a little bit different. The Japanese one doesn't seem to be as oily not unpleasantly so, but just a little more like a bread stick. Okay, so that's it, that was my little taste testing of Yans.
