Organizing a Dollar Tree-Lined Linen Closet: A Step-by-Step Guide
As I stand in front of this linen closet, I have to admit that I've been putting off organizing it for five months now. It's been a place where I've been throwing stuff in here without any rhyme or reason, and it's been a waste of a beautiful storage space. But today, I'm determined to change that. I've purchased some organization bins from Dollar Tree, and I'm excited to show you guys what we're working with.
The first step is clearing everything out of the closet. I know it might seem daunting, but trust me, it's worth it. As I clear out the contents, I make sure to hang my robes over the back of a chair because they're not going anywhere. Now that everything is cleared out, it's time to set up the Dollar Tree storage bins. I paid only one dollar for each item, and I decided to go with a dark brown color because it complements the rest of my bathroom decor.
Before we begin setting up the bins, let me show you what they look like. These are the same ones that I have in my master closet, and I'm glad I made the decision to get them. The dark brown color will make it easier for me to see into the bins when they're stacked vertically, which means less digging around to find what I need. To be honest, I don't think I'll need to buy any more storage bins unless I do a row at the top of the closet.
As I finish putting together all the storage bins, I take a step back and admire my work. Honestly, I don't even think I'll need to buy anymore unless I decide to add another row at the top. But for now, it looks absolutely fantastic. Dollar Tree products are truly amazing, and I'm glad I picked up these two bins that I had originally purchased for my daughter's dorm room. She wasn't using them, so I thought they'd be perfect for this project.
Now that everything is set up, let's get started on filling the bins. I begin by organizing hair-related items in one row. It's ironic that when I would go to find a hair tie, it was always in one place – now it's just a matter of finding the dedicated bin. Next, I fill another row with makeup brushes and lip glosses. I have to admit, some of these are pretty expired, but they're still useful items that I don't want to throw away.
Moving on to the bottom bins, I organize sheets, towels, and bigger products like hydrogen peroxide and castor oil. These bins will be perfect for storing larger items that take up more space. As I fill each bin, I make sure to leave some extra space for future products. In one of the bins, I store a lint roller, empty makeup bags, and vacuum storage bags – my favorite.
As I finish organizing the closet, I take a step back and admire the massive improvement it's made. The Dollar Tree products really shine in this space, and I'm so happy with how everything turned out. If you're struggling to organize one of your own closets, I hope this video inspires you to tackle that task as well. It's amazing how much more functional and organized our spaces can become when we take the time to do it right.
In conclusion, organizing a linen closet on a budget is definitely possible with Dollar Tree storage bins. The key is to clear everything out, set up the bins in an efficient way, and fill them with items that will make your life easier. I'm thrilled to have finished this project, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Until next time, when I'll be sharing another organizing tip or trick, thanks for hanging out with me!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enalright guys today we're going to be doing a Dollar Tree organization video and it is going to be this linen closet right here in my master bathroom I have been living in this house for five months now actually to the day that I'm filming this and I have yet to even organize this one time so this has just been a place where I've been throwing stuff in here there's absolutely no rhyme no reason and I did go to Dollar Tree purchased some organization bins and I'm gonna open this up I'll show you guys what we're dealing with here and this is what it looks like yeah it's just not appealing it's a complete waste of a beautiful space a beautiful storage space that I could just be doing so much better with this so there are some of the things that I purchased from Dollar Tree so let's go ahead and get started the first step that I take is clearing all of this out and then we begin with setting up our bins all right as you can see I've cleared everything out I know you can't see the bottom but it is completely cleared out and I do hang my robes over here so I'm not really gonna mess with those because those are just gonna stay but now I am going to go ahead and start setting up the Dollar Tree storage bins so I paid one dollar for every item and I decided to go with a dark brown because I thought that it was complementary to the rest of my bathroom decor now over time by the way these are the ones that I got they also match the same ones that I have in my master closet it'll be easier to pull it out like this and see down into it because when it's eye level I want the vents to be short so that when they're like this I can already see into them if it's tall I'm gonna have to pull it out and look so it's just better to do the tall ones at the bottom of the shorter ones at eye level I am finished putting together all the storage bins and honestly I don't even think I'll need to buy anymore unless I do a row at the top if I do a row at the top it will be this size and I think it will also look really nice and balanced with that size up there but already I think that it looks absolutely fantastic and Dollar Tree products like are you kidding me those two bins are actually what I had on hand bought those for my daughter for her dorm room and she wasn't using them so I think they're really great and I'm not entirely sure what's gonna go down in there may be like extra rolls of toilet paper or I just yeah I'm not entirely sure yet but I just wanted to at least start with getting my bends in here and now I'm going to go ahead and start filling them up with all the things that were in here before all right so it is finished and it feels so good like there's no other feeling than seeing a disorganized space turn into something that looks good easy on the eyes and it's gonna be functional I because these are new bends I may be moving things around until I get used to certain things but I'll go ahead and walk you guys through what I've done let's start at the top row so I just have this hurricane vase I'm holding on to it's it's really beautiful I could use it somewhere else and then that's where I store my necklaces and stuff for now but I need a whole jewelry system I think I want to get something from Ikea but like an actual armoire so I'll probably end up putting it in the closet and then here is the first row of storage bins I don't have anything and most of them I think the only thing I have is in this one and I put my extra watches and some makeup bags in there I think once I start filling these up things you know will get re categorized in the third row which has eye level I wanted to make sure that I put things that I would normally reach for so these are gonna be the items that you know I use all the time so I have this clear bin we got these from the Container Store my daughter used them for her dorm room and then there was one that she wasn't using and so I thought I'd bring it in here I'll probably end up filling this up with like soap and things like that this is just a spray I decided to keep it out because I know I'm gonna grab for it a lot in this one I'm gonna be storing all of my perfumes and body sprays so the ones from Dollar Tree I actually need to put in here but I store all of my Dollar Tree products that I need to review under the sink so that's why you won't see any of those new stuff but I'll show you guys all that stuff too because it needs some serious organization as well over here we've got razors we've got some face microfiber facial pads this dry brush that I have yet to use but wanted to use it for simulation and all that stuff and then this one blew me away but this is exactly why I needed to do this organization is because I have so many hair stuff but the irony is when I would go to get a hair tie I couldn't find any but obviously I'm not lacking but they were just in one place here in one place there so it's just really nice now to have one dedicated then just for that I mean this row alone is going to make my life so much easier down here also not fully filled in but these are just extra makeup brushes and lip glosses to be fair I threw a bunch away just now but these I could not get myself to throw away even though they are pretty expired in here I just have a lint roller and then empty and empty so lots of space to be storing any future products in and then down in these bins I have sheets there towels there and then I have some bigger products like hydrogen peroxide my castor oil is that right yeah castor oil some lotions nail polish remover etc and there's I don't know is there anything in this one oh there's some makeup bags in there as well and then in this bottom row I'm storing some tissue paper in here and then these just extra little items there from Dollar Tree shower caps storage bags I have more storage bags the vacuum storage bags which are my favorite and that's it it was a pretty simple video today of just getting this space organized I'll try to do a before and after I forgot to film an official before clip but I think I'm grabbing the one from the we're showed you guys what it looks like when I opened the doors but I mean massive massive improvement I mean it just and Dollar Tree products I mean this is exactly why I love this store I love how this turns out I hope that inspired you guys to tackle just one closet and it will feel so good you'll actually start using your things it's just like me finding you know this Pony wrap that I hold from Dollar Tree it's just because I don't have space is organized it just makes it a little bit harder for me to remember what I have and that whole that whole thing I'm sure you completely understand but anyways that's it for today's video I hope you guys enjoyed hanging out with me getting the space finally organized it feels so good I'm getting to a point where now my bedroom my bathroom the linen closet they're all fully functional since moving into this new house and I couldn't be happier absolutely love at the Dollar Tree not sponsored but you all know I wish and I'll see you guys later bye\n"
