**The Cult of iPhone SE: A Surprising Conversion**
I originally bought the iPhone SE with the intention of reviewing and then returning it. I wasn't planning on keeping it at all. I was happy with my iPhone 6 Plus, which I've been using for a year and a half since its release day. I've loved using the large 5.5-inch display for watching videos, reading articles, and other activities that require a bigger screen. However, after getting hands-on with the iPhone SE, I started to fall in love with it.
One of the things I missed about my iPhone 5S was its compact form factor, which is now missing from my larger iPhone 6 Plus and 6s devices. The iPhone SE's smaller size is a breath of fresh air, allowing me to easily hold it in one hand and type without strain. I also appreciate how easily I can fit the iPhone SE into my pocket, often forgetting that it's even there. This compact size has become an integral part of my daily routine.
The performance of the iPhone SE is another significant advantage over my larger devices. When I put them side by side and open up web pages, load YouTube videos, or play games, I can see a noticeable difference in speed and power. The benchmark test scores illustrate this, with the iPhone SE clocking in at over 123,000 and the 6 Plus barely reaching 32,000. This significant difference is a welcome change from the perceived sluggishness of my larger device.
The camera on the iPhone SE has also impressed me. With its 12-megapixel sensor, it outperforms the 8-megapixel camera on my 6 Plus. Additionally, the SE can shoot in 4K, making it easier to capture high-quality photos and videos. The rounded edges of my older device can sometimes make it difficult to get a grip, but the iPhone SE's more angular design has become comfortable for me.
The battery life of the iPhone SE is another area where it excels over my larger devices. I've found that it lasts significantly longer than my 6 Plus, even after heavy use. In fact, I can easily get through a full day without needing to recharge, whereas my 6 Plus would often be running low by mid-afternoon.
One of the factors convincing me to switch from my iPhone 6 Plus is its resale value. Here in the UK, I can sell it for around £430, which effectively pays for my iPhone SE and contributes towards the purchase of an iPad Pro. If I were to wait until September, when a new iPhone is rumored to be released, I'd likely get less money from selling my 6 Plus.
However, I do notice that my iPhone 6 Plus is starting to show its age. The battery life has become inconsistent, and the mute switch can sometimes malfunction or flicker between modes. It's clear that it's time for me to upgrade, but I want to make sure I get rid of it before it completely dies out.
Overall, my experience with the iPhone SE has been incredibly positive. I've fallen in love with its compact size, snappy performance, and impressive camera capabilities. While my larger devices were comfortable for a while, I've come to appreciate the benefits of a smaller phone. If you're considering upgrading from a larger device or switching to an iPhone SE, I encourage you to give it a try – you might just find yourself falling in love with this compact powerhouse as much as I have.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's up guys Steve with cul of Mac here and in today's video I'm going to explain to you why I'm getting rid of my iPhone 6 Plus and keeping the iPhone SE let's get started so I originally bought the iPhone SE with the intention of reviewing and then returning it I wasn't planning on keeping it at all I was happy with my iPhone 6 plus I've been using it for a year and a half since the release day and I've have loved using the large 5.5 in display for watching videos reading articles on and I couldn't be happier with it and then I got the iPhone SE in my hands I hadn't realized how much I missed the form factor of the iPhone 5 since owning the iPhone 6 Plus and 6s I have had the opportunity to play with the 5S since and I've always felt the screen size is now too small for me I couldn't type on it I thought I'm never going back to a small phone but after 2 or 3 hours of use I started to fall in love with the iPhone SE I loved the fact I could hold the iPhone SE in one hand I could text I could reach the bottom to the top of the phone without consing my hand and I love the fact that I can fit this into my pocket with no problems I mean a lot of the times I forget it's actually there one of the other things I love about the iPhone SE is just how Snappy it is I didn't think that the iPhone 6 Plus was particularly slow but when I put them side by side and just open up things like web pages or load YouTube videos or play games I can really see the difference as you can see from the benchmark test there's quite a difference in the speed and power with the iPhone SE clocking in a benchmark score of over 123,000 with the 6 Plus just missing 8 32,000 so now whenever I pick up the 6 plus I find it to be absolutely huge the SC has all the size that I need to read my emails reply to texts calls everything I need to do on my iPhone I can do if I need a bigger screen I can switch over to my iPad Pro or the iPad Mini I've got all the other options there and it will actually force me to start using them again also the iPhone SE camera coming in at 12 megapixels is greatly improved over the six Plus's 8 megapixel camera also the SE can shoot 4K I also find it a lot easier taking photos with the iPhone SE over the 6 plus uh cuz obviously the iPhone 6 Plus has got those rounded edges and it's just easier to get a grip of the iPhone SE on top of all of that I found the iPhone se's battery lasts me a whole lot longer than the 6 plus I mean I've been using the 6 plus all morning it's now half 2 at the time of filming this and it's still on 65% whereas if I've been using my 6 plus on morning it'd probably be somewhere between 35 and 40% so I can actually get a full day use out the iPhone SE whereas my 6 Plus would normally clock out at about 7:00 also one of the main factors convincing me to get rid of the iPhone 6 plus now is because it's still worth a decent amount of money here in the UK I can get about £430 for it which works out to be $65 so it automatically pays for my iPhone SE and it puts a little bit of money towards the iPad Pro which I recently purchased also but if I wasted to sell my iPhone 6 Plus until September which is when the iPhone 7 is rumored to be announced and released i' end up end up getting a lot less cash from my iPhone 6 Plus so it makes sense to me to sell it sooner rather than later but I've noticed my iPhone 6 Plus is starting to die on me I mean I have used it a hell of a lot in the year and a half that I've had it but the battery will give up on me when it's still got 10 to 15% left the mute switch doesn't always work or it'll start flickering in between them and generally it's just starting to show its age so I want to make sure I get rid of it before it completely dies out but let's hope whatever company I sell this to don't see this video well there you have it there's all my reasons for getting rid of the iPhone 6 Plus in favor of the se but let me know in the comments down below if you've upgraded to the SE and let me know what you've switched from also if you enjoyed this video go ahead and smash that like button as it really does help us out
