The Art of Creating Bacon-Wrapped Veggie Burgers at Your Next BBQ

If you're looking for a recipe that's sure to impress your family and friends, look no further than the bacon-wrapped veggie burger. This unique twist on the classic burger is easy to make and is perfect for outdoor gatherings like barbecues. In this article, we'll walk you through the process of creating these delicious burgers.

To start, you'll need about 2-2.5 pounds of ground meat. You can use any type of meat you like, but we recommend using a combination of beef, pork, and chicken for added flavor. Once you have your ground meat, flatten it out into a rectangular shape that's about 7-8 inches wide and a foot long. Press the meat down to about half an inch in thickness, kind of like doing a bacon bomb.

Next, square up the edges of the meat to make it look nice and pretty. This will help the burgers cook evenly and prevent them from falling apart when you take a bite. Now that your meat is shaped and ready to go, it's time to add some flavor with veggies. Cut up some onions and bell peppers and sprinkle them lightly on top of the meat. You can also add some mushrooms, olives, jalapenos, and salami to give the burgers an extra kick.

Once you have all your ingredients ready to go, roll the meat into a tight cylinder. This is the hardest part of the recipe, but don't worry – it's worth it! Take the time to make sure the meat is tightly wrapped around the veggies, and then use toothpicks or small skewers to hold everything in place.

Next, wrap some bacon slices around the outside of each burger, securing them with more toothpicks if necessary. This will give the burgers a crispy, smoky flavor that's perfect for outdoor gatherings. To cook the burgers, place them on the grill over indirect heat – about 350-400°F – and let them cook until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.

While the burgers are cooking, you can prepare your toppings and sides. Add some shredded cheese to each burger, along with any other toppings you like – such as sliced tomatoes, lettuce, or avocado. You can also serve the burgers with classic BBQ sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or grilled vegetables.

Finally, it's time to plate up your bacon-wrapped veggie burgers! Slice each burger in half and place them on a bun, along with all your favorite toppings. Don't forget to add some crispy bacon slices on top – it's the perfect finishing touch for these delicious burgers.
