How to Find Your Holiday Style & Create Your DREAM HOLIDAY Rooms! - - Day 1 - - 25 Days of Xmas 2019

**Embracing Your Personal Style: Creating a Dream Space for Christmas**

As I begin to think about decorating my living room for Christmas, I'm reminded that it's not just about picking out a few festive decorations and calling it a day. It's about creating an entire atmosphere that reflects my personality and style. I want my space to feel warm, cozy, and inviting, with a touch of sophistication and natural elegance.

To start, I take a moment to assess the room and think about what I want to keep and what I can let go of. I decide not to change too much of the existing furniture, as it's already one of my favorites. My sofa and chairs are non-negotiable, and I love them so much that they're staying put. This will give me a solid foundation to build upon and make it easier to envision my overall vision.

Next, I think about the colors that have become synonymous with my breakfast room – blue and grey hues. These familiar shades will be carried over into this space, ensuring cohesion and continuity throughout the room. By focusing on these core colors, I can start building a visual language that ties everything together.

As I begin to visualize the space, I think about different styles that speak to me. I love plaid at Christmas – it's timeless, cozy, and evokes feelings of warmth and comfort. I also appreciate modern Scandinavian design, with its clean lines, natural materials, and emphasis on simplicity. French Country and Classic are other styles that resonate with me, each offering a unique perspective on the holiday season.

To clarify my vision, I make a list of all the elements I want to incorporate into my space. This might include specific patterns, textures, colors, or decorative motifs. By putting these ideas down on paper (or, rather, in this digital format), I can start to see the overall aesthetic take shape.

**Embracing Eclecticism: Finding Your Unique Style**

One of the things I love about Christmas decorating is its potential for eclecticism. Why feel bound by traditional or specific styles when you can create a space that's uniquely yours? For me, this means embracing my love of different patterns, textures, and colors, even if they don't necessarily fit into a single style category.

As I think about what I want my dream space to feel like, I find myself getting lost in the possibilities. What if I combined elements of bohemian chic with modern minimalism? Or paired vintage ornaments with sleek, contemporary accents? The more I imagine, the more excited I become.

**Teasing a Holiday Decorating Series**

As part of this journey, I'm planning to share my decorating process over the next 25 days on YouTube. Each day will feature a new video, showcasing a different aspect of my holiday decorating plan. From sneaking into stores before they open to snagging exclusive deals, to sharing tips and tricks for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere at home.

One special treat in store is a visit to Pottery Barn, where I'll get to explore their latest collections and share some of my favorite finds with you. I'm also collaborating with friends from different backgrounds, including one who's literally French, to bring you unique perspectives on holiday decorating.

**Getting Ready for the Holiday Season**

As we count down to Christmas, I invite you to join me on this journey. Share your own thoughts and ideas in the comments below – what style do you embody? What does your dream space feel like? "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi welcome to the health of Valentina I'm Valentina and this is my home and I am so excited that you're here today we are counting down the days until Christmas 25 days 25 videos to celebrate the holiday season this series is just absolutely packed with so many fun ideas it's full of tips and tricks it's full of shopping ideas and room makeovers we just hope more than anything that you'll take away so much joy during this holiday season through this series we're so delighted to have you here at the house of Valentina and let's jump in to today's video today is the first day of our countdown to Christmas I decided this year that trying to do 25 days recording them in Christmas like during the month of December that was a little bit overwhelming so this time and especially because last year we were renovating our entire house that was nuts so this year I decided I'm gonna get a little head start and I'm gonna start filming while the Halloween decorations are still up so Halloween just finished I have been chomping at the bit to decorate for the holidays I'm freaking out like I don't know if I've ever ever been this excited about the holiday season in my life I can't wait do you guys ever feel like that too it's just so much fun decorating for the holidays I love it and I can't wait so with this excitement especially when you start walking into the stores and then there's Christmas everywhere it's so exciting and I'm freaking out and that's when I get into trouble because I see pretty things and I just buy it up and I decided that this year I want to be a little bit more focused I am making myself sit down and focus for just a minute be calm deep breaths and think through what do I actually want this space to feel like so my first step is to get on Pinterest because Pinterest is my go-to I love that site so much if you ever want to know what I do in my off time I'm on Pinterest either Pinterest or Instagram because I just absolutely love those two places and there is so much inspiration located on both of them and I pin from Instagram so those two things are always interconnect for me I just love them so much I'm so inspired when I go there and the interesting thing about going on your Pinterest account it'll really help you narrow down more specifically what you really like trying to hone in by looking through your Pinterest boards and what you really pin you might have to do a search for something that might interest you like this year I'm obsessed with French Country modern legitimately obsessed I can't get it out of my head I think because it gets me the closest to how I like to pull my home together than anything else because I love skin an avian style which has that modernist there's a lot of black and white but then like I like rustic pieces and sometimes I like things with swirls and dips so that for me is what I start searching on Pinterest so think about what you really like and then look on your Pinterest and start searching for those things and put the word Christmas and see what you come up with typically I will scroll through the first page almost it's gonna need a refresh a time or two before I'm gonna really get to what I really want a lot of times this stuff is at the top of the fold just disa probably feel like what I was thinking of and the interesting thing is when you put French country into a search bar and Pinterest it's not gonna be my exact style it's really not but what I really have to focus on and what you guys can do as well we want to look at which elements we really want to keep and decide which aspects of that style really ring true with us because I see myself gravitating towards some of the farmhouse stuff as well but my house isn't necessarily a farmhouse it does have more of that I want it to have more of that sort of like Provence just sort of like I don't know classic French country and Scandinavia those all just totally go together but you know I there's nothing wrong with having multiple styles that you want to have in your house the thing is is that you'll find yourself drawn to certain aspects of a style just like in the farmhouse like I love linen and linen is something that can go across all those styles and so that's why I'm saying is that you don't necessarily don't focus so much on trying to get a specific style but really discovering which elements you like and making one that when people look at it I love it when people say this they say to me I looked at that and thought that is so Valentina that's what I want that's like that's just me and you should have your room that feels like you isn't that the most luxurious thing in the entire world to have a space that's just for you so then once you've discovered kind of yet style if you kind of got it in your head what aspects and what style you really want to hone in on the season then take an inventory of what you actually own because you might be surprised that you own a lot more than you think you do you just haven't looked at it in that light before and so that's what I'm gonna do I mean I start going through all my stuff and thinking through what do I actually own and we'll just go with what's already in the room do I need to take certain things out and then I'm just gonna start processing through the entire space I'm gonna think of the whole space holistically and I don't want it to feel like I just stuck a Christmas tree in the corner and some random pillows like I just want it to feel like it's all connected so I'm gonna think about the colors that have to stay like I have blue shares in my breakfast room I'm not gonna change those that's literally one of my most prized possessions and I love those chairs so I will build this room around those chairs and my sofa that I'm sitting on now this will not be going anywhere I don't think no see I have extra sofas so I have a little bit of a disadvantage that I could technically change it but I'm not going to I just really love this sofa in here so I'm gonna think through I have this sort of like bluish grey going on in here and I just want to put all that together all that together with this sort of French country modern Scandinavian classic field I have in my head and I'm just gonna start pulling all those elements together and then then after that I will make a little wish list what I would like to have if I could decorate this room any way that I want so think through there's so many great styles you could have a glamorous Christmas you could have a farmhouse Christmas you could have a modern Scandinavian Christmas you could have skin and maybe a country you could have classic I love plaid oh I just plaid at the holidays is so timeless a Red Room with lots of red plaid it's just gorgeous what else think about all the styles that you like and I can't wait I hope that you will write into the comments section below the show notes write in and tell me what your style is and even if it's just an eclectic word combination or a feeling that you want a lot of times that's what I'm after is that sort of modern cozy feeling and it's not so style specific but more of this the essence of what I want it's always going back to the ethos of Who I am and what I want my space to feel like I want it to be warm and cozy and inviting and maybe a little bit chic and sophisticated I wanted to feel natural think of all those words and think about what you want your space to feel like when you walk into it when you walk and mmm close your eyes for a minute and imagine when you walk into that space what do you want it to feel like that's what you should go for that's that's what you should be aiming for and when you have when you have that focus it'll make it so much easier to say no to things at the store and you will get to what you want faster because you won't be wasting money on things that you don't end up using I have a lot of Christmas decor even from the last year or two that I'm like mm I wish I hadn't spent my money on that I wished instead I'd bought this or hey I've got those glass clothes I can bring those in here and do this with that so you can think through all your stuff and start imagining that dream space and write down into the comments what you want your dream space to feel like and possibly what you want it to look like and I just can't wait to see what you guys have to say and I hope that you will hit the subscribe button because we are going to have so much fun over the next few days I'm not gonna post one every single day we will just simply have 25 days of Christmas and it will be a video over the course of a few days and then we'll make sure there's 25 before were dismissed I hope that's okay with you guys but I hope you hit subscribe because it's gonna be so much fun I hope it's like I feel like it should give you a teaser okay so one of the videos will involve sneaking in before the stores even open to Pottery Barn and getting to do an amazing video so that's just one of them I've got French so excited I can't even like talk one of my friends is French she's literally from Paris her family extended family lives in Provence and she's gonna show us how she sets her table for Christmas and that's just the beginning I can't wait so be sure hit
