How to Bunny Hop Barspin BMX

**Mastering Bar Spins: Tips and Tricks from a Pro Rider**

To get a feel for the cranks if you're always landing with your back pedal down, it's not going to work outside. You want to make sure your front foot's down pretty much. I mean, you got the motion down, you got this down take it right outside all right so now you guys figured everything out with the indoor bike hopefully you're feeling pretty confident with the whole bar spin thing now it gets a little tricky.

So if you want to go with the half Bar Route, you can do it um we did I don't honestly think it's the best thing in the world cuz you may get stuck only being able to do half bars and it may actually become harder to do full bar spin. You're going to want to hop up about as high as you can Bunny Hop or as high as you can comfortably Bunny Hop keeping your legs straight you want to lean back a little bit kind of pinch the seat with your calves keep it stable and spin them. It's kind of nice with half bar spins you don't really have to let go completely you can kind of pass it off but it gives you that feel of moving the bars and getting out of the way you're not going to hit your knees as long as your legs are straightened back all right.

So I personally don't recommend it. It's kind of pointless, it makes it a little bit harder might make it easier, but they're kind of cool actually to do in games of bikes like half bar truck drivers or 540s I don't know whatever you want to do but it's a neat little thing.

Now we're on to bar spins the real thing. So you're going to want to hop you're going to want to hop high you're going to want to go really fast you're not going to want to fall um you might want to wear you probably should wear Shing guards I normally wear Shing guards a helmet knee pads ankle guards a whole nine yards I'm just lazy now I haven't ridden in like 3 months so we just we're coming out here today just to make a video for you guys.

So, if you're going to do bar spins, get your feet on the pedals hop up level out and the big key thing that I really want to reinforce is that your legs are kind of straight. And you're pinching the seat with your calves having a little bit of a fatter seat or a little bit of a higher seat will really help keep your front end stable and keep it from dropping. You know, some people don't some people do but I think it'll actually make it easier.

So, you're going to want to do what I said pull up level out and throw the bars when you're pinching the seat you're going to want to give it a nice toss probably at the peak of your height and you should catch right about the time that you land. You're not going to catch in the air the first time but it's okay cuz if you pinch a seat then you don't have to worry about like falling on your side or whatever.

Make sure you keep your whip fresh and your hands if they get if they get too uh not good for bars, then you're going to want to hop up again. And that's pretty much it. Hopefully, you guys are feeling confident enough to give bar spins a try. If you have problems feel free to leave a comment I'll try to address them.

**Rider Tips and Tricks**

I find helpful things like pinching your seat, actually doing them overhand so it's really weird and I think it's a little bit harder but I notice that if you like throw them five times before you do it almost always helps you land it. And remember, wear Shing guards, I normally wear Shing guards a helmet knee pads ankle guards a whole nine yards.

**Staying Safe**

I'm just lazy now, I haven't ridden in like 3 months so we're coming out here today just to make a video for you guys so. If you want to do bar spins, you'll probably need some safety gear such as Shing guards and a helmet. And always wear knee pads and ankle guards if possible.
