The Samsung Notebook Odyssey: A Gaming Laptop with Unparalleled Performance and Cooling Technology
We're currently at the Samsung booth at the Pax 2017 gaming conference, and we're joined by Ramone from Samsung, who's here to give us a tour of some exciting new gaming products from Samsung in the laptop realm. As Ramone takes over, let's dive into the details of what makes the Samsung Notebook Odyssey an incredible gaming laptop.
This year at Pax 2017, Samsung is showcasing the Notebook Odyssey, which boasts impressive specs and features that set it apart from its competitors. Each model comes equipped with a Intel or Core i7 processor, ensuring top-notch performance for gamers. Additionally, the laptops are paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, providing a significant boost to gaming capabilities.
The Notebook Odyssey is available in two models: the Night Black and the Storm White. The Night Black model features 2GB of DDR5 on the graphics card, while the Storm White boasts 4GB of DDR5. Both models offer step-up performance compared to their competitors. When it comes to storage capacity, the Night Black model comes with a 120GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive, whereas the Storm White model features a 256GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive.
What sets the Notebook Odyssey apart from other gaming laptops is its innovative cooling technology known as "HexiFlow." This feature allows for improved airflow within the laptop, pulling cool air up from the bottom of the device and expelling it out the back. This design enables gamers to use their CPU and GPU at peak performance for longer periods without any throttling or overheating issues.
The HexiFlow Design is actually a complete metal back plate built into the hexif flow vent on the laptop's bottom. This clever design allows users to easily access their NVMe and DIMM slots by simply removing three screws. As an added bonus, the laptops come pre-installed with a special version of Samsung SSD based on the 960 series. Users can upgrade to even faster speeds, with the 960 Pro model offering speeds up to 2TB.
The Notebook Odyssey is also available in larger models, including a 17-inch variant that will be released later this year. This bigger laptop comes equipped with 32GB of RAM and two NVMe slots, allowing users to output in 4K and experience VR without any lag or downtime. When it comes to the processor, both the smaller and larger models come with Intel's Kaby Lake processors, offering quad-core performance for smooth gaming and multitasking.
In conclusion, the Samsung Notebook Odyssey is an exceptional gaming laptop that offers unparalleled performance and cooling technology. With its innovative HexiFlow design, users can enjoy seamless gaming experiences without any interruptions or overheating issues. Whether you're a casual gamer or a hardcore enthusiast, the Notebook Odyssey has something to offer everyone.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey we're over here at the Samsung booth at the Samsung gamer Booth I would say we're here with Ramone from Samsung who's going to give us a little bit of a tour of some new gaming products from Samsung uh in the laptop realm so Ramon why don't you take it away show us what you got buddy so this year at Pax 2017 we're showing the Samsung Notebook Odyssey Samsung Notebook Odyssey is amazing if you're talking from the spec standpoint uh each Samsung Notebook Odyssey 15 comes with a Intel or uh core i7 processor um in addition to that we have an NVIDIA GTX 1050 okay uh we have two models in the 15 it's going to be your night black and storm white in the night black we're looking at two gigs of ddr5 on the graphics card and then four gigs of ddr5 on uh the storm white so so basically looking at a stepup model here and then let's talk about storage capacity so on the night black we're looking at 120 gig SSD and a one tab hard drive uh storm white we're looking at a 256 gig SSD 1 tab hard drive but in addition to that we have some great capabilities so what sets us apart from our competition right notebook Odyssey has a unique cooling feature it's called hexif flow technology okay what hexif flow does is it actually pulls cold air up from the bottom of the device and shifts it out the backat okay because it's a huge pain point for customers right to basically have their device overheat absolutely so what this allows us to do is pull cold air up instead of pushing it down into someone's legs or their desk making a lap warmer yeah making their lap warmer or their desk warmer right or overheating their device so the hexif Flow Design allows you to use your CPU and GPU at Peak Performance for longer without any throttling okay so you're pulling cool air from the bottom and pushing it out the back correct so this great thing that we call it too is the hexif flow right but the design is called dragon scale and it's got this really unique design so either one of these models when you pull the the bottom off right so let me show you here so let let's talk about the hexa Flow Design so this on the bottom this is the hexif flow vent right so it takes up half of the entire PC so this is actually a complete metal back plate built into the hexif flow vent you pull the cold air across it and there's actually three screws one on the left one on the right and one in the center you pop those off and in less than 20 minutes you can actually easily access your nvme and your dim slots so you've got you've got socketed dims for the memory and a discret nvme solid state drive correct so if you want to upgrade which we always suggest genuine Samsung SSD but of course right 60 in there currently uh currently out of the box we come with a like a a special version for this for Odyssey it's based on the 960 um and then uh you can actually upgrade to a 960 in 256 512 1 TB and and then the 960 Pro comes all the way up to 2 TB now and it's 5.2 times faster than an Internal Sata SSD oh yeah so over 20 times faster than a hard drive sure yeah this makes it super easy uh both the 15-in models come with 16 gigs of RAM both upgradeable to 32 and then we also have a 17-in model that's going to be coming out later in the year um which is going to allow us to Output into 4K and it's going to be VR already it comes with 32 gigs of RAM uh and is upgradeable to 64 and it even has two nvme slots wow so you can rate them up yep nice so you've got currently you've got Intel C lake under the hood we do okay quad core dual core quad core processor quad core kbl Lake and GeForce GTX 1050 you got it beautiful stuff the Samsung Notebook Odyssey at PAX East Boston 2017 thanks Ramone you're very welcome thank youhey we're
