iPhone X Tips, Gestures and Hidden Features

**Setting up Face ID**

One of the most exciting features of the iPhone 10 is its advanced facial recognition system known as Face ID. This replaces the Touch ID system that was previously used on iPhones. Setting up Face ID at the time of setting up your phone will allow you to access most of its functions directly. To do this, go into Settings and then select Face ID and Passcode. You will need to enter your passcode before setting up your Face ID. If you've already registered your face but it's not working properly, you can reset Face ID and restart the process.

Face ID replaces Touch ID throughout iOS, which means that any apps that used Touch ID, including banking and social media apps like Instagram, will now seamlessly use Face ID to access your information. You don't need to change anything for this to adjust to your face - simply go into Settings and select Face ID and Passcode. If you've already registered your face but it's not working properly, you can reset Face ID and then restart the process.

**Accessing Battery Percentage**

One of the most noticeable changes on the iPhone 10 is the removal of the battery percentage from the top right corner of the screen. To access your battery percentage, swipe down into the Control Center, which can be accessed by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. You will now see your network information and your battery percentage.

While this change may seem like a minor adjustment, it's actually an important one for users who need to keep track of their phone's battery life. If you're used to checking your battery percentage on the top right corner of the screen, you'll need to get used to a new way of accessing this information. Fortunately, there are still ways to access your battery percentage, including swiping down into the Control Center or going into Settings and selecting Battery.

**Saving Emojis as Videos**

Many people love using emojis in their messages and social media posts, but did you know that you can save an emoji as a video? This is a fun feature that allows you to share a short clip of an emoji with your friends. To do this, simply send an emoji message, then tap on the emoji to access its details. From there, hit the "Save" button and the emoji will be saved to your phone's library.

From here, you can freely share the video of the emoji with any app that allows you to share a video. This is a great way to add some fun and creativity to your messages and social media posts. Whether you're sending a funny GIF or just want to share a cute animal, this feature makes it easy to do so.

**Portrait Lighting Shots**

The iPhone 10 also features Portrait Lighting shots, which allow you to take stunning photos of yourself with beautiful lighting effects. This feature is available on both the rear and front cameras of your phone. To access Portrait Lighting, go into the Camera app and select Portrait mode. From there, choose either the rear or front camera, depending on which one you want to use.

Once you've taken a photo, you can always go into the Edit feature and change the lighting effect to suit your needs. This means that you don't have to be restricted by a monochrome shot - you can always switch to a different effect later on. Portrait Lighting shots are perfect for taking photos of yourself in different lighting conditions, whether it's natural light or artificial light.

**4K 60fps Video**

Another exciting feature of the iPhone 10 is its ability to record 4K 60fps video. This means that you can capture stunning footage with high frame rates and resolution. To enable this feature, go into Settings and then select Camera. Change the format from "Most Compatible" to "High Efficiency", which will allow you to access the 4K 60fps option.

This feature is perfect for capturing smooth and detailed video footage, whether it's recording a special event or just sharing a fun moment with friends. The iPhone 10 also enables Full HD video recording at super-slow-mo 240 frames per second, making it an ideal camera for capturing stunning slow-motion footage.

**Accessing the Camera and Flashlight Quickly**

One of the most convenient features on the iPhone 10 is its ability to quickly access the Camera or Flashlight using a simple gesture. To do this, swipe down from the notification shade, then press down on any of the buttons to activate either the flashlight or camera. This makes it easy to capture a photo or send a quick message without having to navigate through menus.

This feature is perfect for users who need to take photos quickly or send a message in an emergency. With this gesture, you can access both the Camera and Flashlight apps with just one swipe of your finger. It's a simple but clever feature that makes using your iPhone 10 easier than ever.
