fan that'll take a finger off so here's the idler pulley which I think is bad and you can see right away that's moving I'm able to shake it back and forth so that's my problem so we're going to take this off right now and replace it with a nice new one this is going to cost you about 20 bucks these are all the tools you need to do job you know ratchet 15 millimeter socket the new pulley and a pulley tensioner bar to relieve the tension of the belt first thing we're going to do is remove the belt we're actually not going to remove the belt completely we're just going to take it off this pulley that we're going to be working on so then it's not a big mess but what you do is there's a tension pulley down there which is that one right there and you just get your long ratchet or in my case I have a belt tensioner tool that relieves tension from the belt I'm going to use that and you just pull on it you'll see you just get your tool in here your belt removal tool it's a 5/8 socket on the end you just pull down and it removes tension and you can just slip your belt above and keep that belt in place so now just remove the tool you could either use a 5/8 socket or a 15 millimeter socket with the belt tension loose we'll start taking the pulley off you could either use a 5/8 socket or a 15 millimeter socket so here's the pulley just take the dust shield off in the back a lot of times a bad pulley will make noise when you do this and it'll feel like gritty inside that's how you know the bearings went inside this one doesn't feel too bad so it's hard to tell but we already saw on the actual car it wobbles now we'll get our new pulley first thing you want to do is make sure it's the same same size it looks the same same width so we'll take our bolt push it in get the dust cover dust cover on the back and now this is ready to install it's already pre oiled and it's a sealed bearing so you don't have to worry about anything and tighten the start want to tighten it down to your factory torque specs my book says to tuck this down to 25 to 30 foot-pounds of torque so now it's good to go let's get the belt back on now we're going to take the belt and put it around the pulley again so we have our pulley tensioner tool and a 15 millimeter socket at the end just going to go in just going to get it on push it down clockwise and now the belt is loose and we could put it on make sure your belts on the other pulleys properly relieve tension take this off and you're done so now let's go start it up and see if she makes noise anymore right away you can see there's no
