How I Did My Wedding Makeup! + Pale Skin Tips

**The Art of Bridal Makeup: A Personal Experience**

Using false lashes can look flawless with the right application techniques and products. To achieve this, I used something like this dark tone lash glue, which is essential for creating a seamless blend. I applied a thin line of glue to my lashes, carefully avoiding any unwanted application on my eyelashes. The key to success lies in being precise and gentle when handling the adhesive.

A very small amount of glue was also applied to the inner corner of my lash, where I wanted it to sit. This was crucial in creating a natural look without any visible glue marks or smudges. By using the glue on both the lashes and lash line, I ensured that the application was secure and wouldn't move throughout the day. The best part about this technique is that once you lay down the glue, it's not moving – it's staying put.

To complete the look, I re-applied some liquid eyeliner, which helps to create a perfect line and adds depth to my eyes. This is especially important when wearing false lashes, as they can sometimes affect the way the eyeliner looks on camera. By touching up in certain areas, I was able to achieve a flawless finish that looked stunning in person.

One of the final touches for this look was applying lip color. After experimenting with various shades and products, I decided to go with a mid-tone pink, which added a touch of classic elegance to my overall appearance. The less old-school aspect of this lip combination is the Buxom Dangerous Dolly Lip Liner, which provided a creamy finish that blended easily into my lips.

To set the lip liner in place, I used Revlon ColorStay Overtime Liquid Lip Color. Although it required me to dry down first and apply a clear gloss over, it stayed put all day without smudging or fading. The brush on the other side of the lip liner made it easy to blend and create a seamless finish.

In terms of setting my makeup for the big day, I relied on Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray, which helped lock everything in place throughout the night. This was essential for ensuring that my look didn't fade or change as the evening wore on.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello welcome back to my channel in today's video i'm going to be doing my bridal makeup tutorial now if you have been following me for any length of time you know this is not a makeup channel i don't typically do makeup related content here but a few of you probably three of you asked on instagram if i could record my bridal makeup tutorial simply because i diy'd my own wedding makeup this is the look that i wore on my wedding day and i personally feel like it turned out really well for pictures especially and not only was i feeling self-indulgent in wanting to make this video i also thought it could maybe be helpful for really really pale people like myself in knowing what tones and what shades might look best in photography i will say my number one tip before we get into the tutorial version of this video is to do an engagement photo shoot with your wedding day photographer i think a lot of photographers at this point will build that into their price package but if it's not already built in i would highly recommend doing this if you are going to diy your wedding makeup i ended up doing my own makeup for my engagement pictures because i wasn't sure if i wanted to hire someone or if i wanted to do my own makeup for my wedding and i definitely learned a lot from that process i learned what products did not look good in pictures i learned how much bronzer you truly need in wedding pictures as a really really pale person and what colors of blush and lip are going to look the best as a pill person colors show up completely differently on us than they do on people with deeper skin tones so i'm hoping that in some way this video will give you some helpful hints and tips if you were in the same boat as me for reference i feel like i don't look super pale in this video simply because my lighting is flattering and also i have a ton of bronzer on but i am paler than taylor nguyen i think she if we're gonna go just on like a basic foundation scale is probably like a shade two or a three i'm like a shade one or two pale for the first shade a foundation in a lot of brands so i am very very pale and that has definitely impacted the choices that i've made with my makeup for my wedding day but if you're interested at all in learning about what products i used on my face or the techniques or look that i did for my wedding day stay tuned because i'm gonna give you all the details in this video i'm also going to link in the description all of the products that i'm using today without further ado let's get into the tutorial sorry for the jump scare let's get into the makeup so the first step is one that i spent so much time deliberating on the week before my wedding my skin type kind of entirely flipped on me i have been historically so dry and not just like a little dry i mean so dry that even the dewiest like most beautiful radiant foundations look on everybody look horrible on me that kind of dry but i started getting oily in my t-zone like the week before my wedding i think part of that too was that the weather was changing it was a lot more humid outside but i was faced with foundation breaking up in my t-zone for the first time ever and i had to figure out how to deal with that and get my foundation to look good all day i knew that i was going to be getting ready for my wedding around noon at the latest and my ceremony wasn't going to be until 5. i needed my foundation and my makeup in general to look fantastic all day and i feel like i did achieve that with a very simple combo i didn't end up using any true primers i just used the urban decay all nighter setting spray under foundation and then again to set once all of my makeup was completed i already sprayed this before pressing record but i found that it doesn't really matter if i let it dry down or not before applying foundation that's just like the first step that i do on freshly washed moisturized skin and then i go in with my foundation combination this was a foundation combination that i used for my engagement pictures and it was kind of my fallback after trying a couple of those foundations that are like recommended for weddings i just couldn't find anything i really liked and so i went back to this old reliable combo i ended up using one pump of double wear and then one pump of the makeup forever reboot foundation both of these are in the lightest shade because i'm super super pale i feel like this combination was great not only in terms of formulation but also in the color i feel like the double wear is just a little bit too pale for me the reboot's just a little bit too dark and cool for me and combining these was the perfect combination the double wear is really really matte and long wearing and the reboot is a little bit more glowy and doesn't have the longevity that i need from a foundation for this kind of event and combining the two match made in heaven so one full pump of each of these on the back of my hand i combine them with my elf putty primer applicator and then i apply it just with my fingers and then i blend with a foundation brush all right now we're looking appropriately ghostly one tip that i think a lot of people give you when it comes to doing your foundation is to bring your foundation down your neck if you are very very pale i do not recommend this try to find a foundation that truly matches your skin where this won't be a problem i personally didn't do any sort of like spray tanning for my wedding and i knew my chest was going to be so so pale if anything paler than my face and i didn't want to bring down a foundation all the way down my neck and it not looks seamless that's one thing i definitely don't recommend if you're not someone who tans do not take your foundation all the way down your neck it's just not it's gonna look much weirder in my opinion to have a discrepancy of color between right here and right here than right here and right here does that make sense the next step obviously is concealer i use tarte shape tape it is just the only thing that works for my dark circles i am going to apply this under my eyes only i usually will apply this to my eyelids as well to act kind of as an eye primer i didn't do this for my wedding simply because i know that this kind of creases on top of my eyelids so i'm using a different primer for that now for my concealer it sort of depends on if i'm doing wedding makeup versus regular everyday makeup whether or not i'm going to use a beauty sponge or a concealer brush to apply for a special event or something that i know is going to be heavily photographed i do like to use a concealer brush simply because the coverage is so much higher and even though you're going to have some hd pictures you're not going to be so up close that you're going to see any sort of creasing that can happen when you use this kind of brush also with the powder that we're going to apply under the eyes you're not going to see a lot of creasing anyway also pro tip if you end up getting shape tape get the little minis i know it's not the most cost effective but if you're someone like me who really hates when the rim of the tube gets all goopy this will be your saving grace because that doesn't happen with the tiny applicator so i'm just applying this under my eye i know that it's not trendy anymore to do the v under your eyes but i don't really care because that's what works for me and i am just bringing this down honestly not all the way to the bottom of my nose but pretty far down just so i get that brightness all the way across uh when you're really pale it can be hard to create light and shadow on your face it's like everything kind of just disappears and melts into your skin and that is the biggest tip that i have for you whenever you are doing your wedding makeup especially if you're pale try to create light and shadow contour the hell out of your face if you're someone who really wants your pictures to stand out and look beautiful i love being pale i don't really want to change the color of my skin but i do need that shadow so that the pictures pick up the features of my face otherwise it's just going to be one brown moon we're creating that moon right now and then we're going to add the contour back in after we apply this concealer okay now that that concealer is applied we can go ahead and blend just a little bit with a beauty sponge i really like the real techniques mini blenders i think the beauty blender equivalent of this sponge is a lot smaller and i personally feel like those are too small for your under eye area this is the perfect size and i just like it to kind of blend out any sort of like harsh edges i might have when it comes to that concealer but i really feel like this is pretty flawless before we set we are going to go ahead and apply the last of our cream products which is going to be the fenty cream bronzer in amber this is such a beautiful product if you are very very pale it is kind of a mix between a bronzer and a contour it is a really gray looking product but this is a product that i'm going to apply first as kind of that under layer of shadow before i end up applying bronzer to my skin and i use two separate brushes for this product now i will forewarn you the contour and bronzing process for this makeup look is like half of the look it's really crucial when it comes to pictures i promise you here's a picture right here you understand what i'm saying right like this is what is going to create the shape of your face so using a million products using whatever you can i think is kind of crucial here you don't need quite this many products but like you definitely are going to want to do in my opinion more than just one bronzing step so i use the rougher 17 brush i don't think you need this particular brush any sort of like small flat top brush will work and then i end up using the elf ultimate blending brush to blend out this product these are like a match made in heaven i love using these together and i feel like this creates the perfect underlayment for the rest of our bronzing so i'm taking the bronzer on this rougher brush and i'm first kind of applying it under my cheekbones and i'm not doing any sort of blending i'm just applying and you can see how absolutely wild this looks and i like to do one side of my face at a time just to make sure that the product doesn't end up drying down before i am able to blend it out but i pretty much take it from my cheekbone up all around my face on this other cheekbone and then on the sides of my nose that is personally where i'd like to contour i think doing a really harsh contour on your jawline for pictures and in person is maybe not the best approach for a wedding day but if that's something that you're self-conscious about or something you want to contour obviously go for it um so we're just gonna go again to that like midway point and then we're going to blend it out next we use the elf ultimate blending brush to slowly start blending this in to the face i don't worry so much about getting this part perfect again because this is only one of like three bronzing steps we're going to do i just love the way that this creates shape on the face without being overly warm toned we are gonna go in with some really warm toned bronzers but i like the initial just sort of like shape to the face to have more of kind of a cool toned shadowy effect so i personally think the difference between this side of my face and this side of my face is very marked i do my nose last um that's just a personal preference thing but already i feel like we're off to a pretty good start okay now we can go in with the nose i'm a little bit more subtle on the nose just because i know there's going to be other products i want to put on here as well i liked the way my nose contour looked in my pictures it was definitely obvious but i feel like it added shape and dimension to my face that was definitely my main complaint from my engagement pictures and i say complaint it was not the photographer's fault it was definitely on me was that my face just had no shape and dimension to it so i really over corrected i think with the bronzer ended up looking a little more bronzy than maybe i had intended but i think it ended up paying off and i feel like my pictures look better as a result over bronze all the time now that we're finished with our cream products we're gonna go ahead and set the entire face with a loose powder i'm just using the laura mercier loose translucent powder any sort of translucent powder will work as long as it is not one of those white hd powders and i didn't have any issues with this powder breaking up throughout the night which i really appreciated but i'm using two different sponges with this powder i'm using the kind of full size real techniques sponge into that mini one for under the eye i start from the eye outwards so we're gonna go in with this mini sponge and i don't do a baking technique i end up dipping the side of my sponge in this powder and scraping off any of the excess i just want a thin layer of powder and then i just stamp it under my under eye area and i kind of use that in that same triangle area that we were applying that concealer to and it instantly flattens things out mattifies and then i use that same exact technique of kind of dipping my sponge and then scraping off the sides and i end up powdering my entire face which is not something that i would typically do but for a big event like this i really want to make sure everything is very set and it will also help blend out those powder products we're going to apply on top so first we're going to go in with the wayne goss contour kit i think this is the light version again i'll have everything linked down in the description all the products i'm using but i'm only using the contour shade in this palette the bronzer unfortunately is a little bit too warm for me but this contour is impeccable it's one of those products that works really good in the hollows of your cheeks when you turn to the side i don't think it looks too muddy or weird i love this powder contour it's the only one that i use and i am applying it with the refer number four brush i will be referencing a lot of rougher brushes in this video i really really love them they're definitely not a necessity but i do think that tools are more important than products i don't have my favorite bronzer brush with me right now my mom accidentally took it home after my wedding and i have been completely lost without it just a testament to how a really good brush can change the makeup application experience enough rambling let's get into the contouring i'm just using this powder in the hollows of my cheeks again to create a little bit more shape and dimension i'm blending with the same brush which i know is not like super professional but i kind of don't care i'm not a professional and then i am going to apply a little bit on the sides of my nose as well i try to keep the sides of my nose pretty cool toned as opposed to the rest of my face and again it might look a little bit crazy on camera but i assure you in professional pictures it's going to look great when in doubt i mean you can always ask your photographer hey do a test shot on me and you know you can see oh it looks like my blush is a little bit too pale let me add a little bit more or whatever um having a good relationship with your photographer is really really key i also told my photographer any of my insecurities and or angles that didn't work for me i personally don't like my side profile and i am also very prone to a weak chin so i wanted to make sure that my chin was very lifted in all of my pictures and that made all the difference between my engagement pictures versus my wedding pictures so now we move on to the 10 pounds of bronzer i'm about to apply we're going to start out with a charlotte tilbury bronzer that doesn't really look like a bronzer it is the airbrush bronzer in fair and this in person looks like a face powder it is so very pale and at first i didn't really know how to apply this product because i wasn't able to kind of build it up with intensity i love this as a blending bronzer which sounds a little bit weird but when you were super super pale going in with even the fairest of bronzers ends up looking a little bit harsh and or patchy at times if you don't blend appropriately and i'm not great at blending let's be honest again i'm not a professional here but i do find that using a really pale bronzer to blend a darker shade helps so much so i'm actually going to use this first to set that perimeter of my face again and then i'm going to intensify with another bronzer i have two that i really love and swear by i can't remember exactly which one i used for my wedding day i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume it was my hourglass bronzer that i'm running low on this is the ambient lighting bronzing powder in nude bronze light it is a perfect shade for really really pale people and another really great contender if you're a little bit darker than me is the milk chocolate soleil bronzer these are both fantastic i'm pretty sure i ended up using this one as like my intensifier but they're both absolutely fantastic and work really good to kind of build up that kind of gradient effect on the forehead now the only bummer today is that i don't have my refer 22 bronzer brush it was the first brush that i ended up buying from ruffer and is the brush of my dreams and of my heart it's quite expensive i think even on sale it was around 80 but it is hands down my favorite brush i can't live without it and having to apply my bronzer on camera right now without it is is kind of heartbreaking uh but i do have this elf flawless face brush that is a similar shape but a much smaller size so we're gonna see if this ends up working for my purposes i'm hoping that i can get the same effect with this brush we'll go ahead and see if this is going to work i don't know it doesn't seem to be picking up as much product as i'm used to but that's fine i know how to intensify a bronzer i don't know man i've tried a million different brushes that i have in in hopes that it would act as a temporary replacement until i could get my bronzer brush back from my mom but none have really proven themselves as well as that brush this one seems to be working okay so we're gonna go with it uh you're probably not gonna see much of a color difference as i apply this to kind of set that uh contour but that's kind of the whole point we want just something powdery to be able to blend on top of i think we're looking pretty good now we're gonna intensify okay hopefully i can build up the intensity with this brush but i'm gonna go in with the nude bronze light powder really swirling it in there and concentrating this on the true perimeter near my hairline you don't wanna bring it too far down on the forehead otherwise i think it's gonna look a little bit too much like a fake tan looking pretty good i am going to apply just a little bit to the sides of my nose and then i'm going to go in with this massive powder brush that really doesn't apply very much product again with that charlotte tilbury bronzer and we're going to go ahead and try to like buff out some of this so it's a little less harsh now that we're looking appropriately kind of spooky but also like kind of nice at the same time we're done with bronzing for now uh full disclosure i ended up applying a lot more bronzer than this on my wedding day but for today's purposes this is what we're going with now for blush one of my favorite steps of makeup one of the discoveries i made after my engagement photo shoot was that unfortunately even though i used what i thought was a pretty cool toned blush and lip color with my photographer's editing style just with the natural lighting on a pale person it ended up pulling very orangey and while i love a good peachy look i didn't really want to look orangy in my wedding pictures and i will say even in the pictures from my wedding my makeup still does pull a little bit warm when it comes to the cheek in the lip color but i think it was a vast improvement and looked a lot more natural so all that being said i ended up picking really really cool toned products for my cheeks and lip ended up going with the pat mcgrath skin fetish blush in divine rose this is kind of a cool toned mavi blush and it's pretty intense i had looked at a couple of blushes that were paler in intensity but really really purpley for some reason again they pulled really warm on me and just did not end up looking great in pictures but something about this blush it just photographs really beautifully despite it not having a luminosity to it in my opinion i feel like it blends really flawlessly and even when i built it up i don't feel like it looks super crazy simply because of the tone it's not a super bright blush it's one that even if you apply a ton of it it still ends up looking mostly natural for highlighter i ended up using my colourpop flexitarian highlighter this is one of their super shock cheek products and if you are super super super pale this is so beautiful it is pale and pretty white but it is not so stark i think that it looks wild and i ended up applying this down the center of my nose and on the tops of my cheekbones i know that some people think nose highlight is a little bit aggressive and you would be right but i i kind of need that otherwise again i end up looking like i have no shape and dimension to my face i'm just applying it with my middle finger kind of tapping and blending as i go i have tried to apply this product with various different brushes over the years and i just don't think brushes do as good of a job so fingers it is and i go from about the center of my eye outward on my cheekbone now we can move on to the eyes another part of my face honestly that i spent a lot of time thinking about i think my biggest considerations when it came to my eyes were what lashes i was going to apply and how intense i wanted my eyeshadow to be i don't apply very much eyeshadow on a daily basis i typically just apply some brown in my crease and call it a day i don't even apply lid color most of the time i knew that i needed to intensify my look for a wedding setting but i knew that i didn't want anything that was going to be so intense that i didn't look and feel like myself i used two separate palettes for this look but you can definitely just use one the palettes that i ended up going with are the natasha denona glam palette this palette if you are pale please pick it up is not as cool as you think it would be i think if you would put this on someone who is much tanner than myself it would end up looking really really cool toned on me most of these shades end up pulling warm which is kind of surprising and i used this for kind of a transitiony color and for a little bit of an inner corner color the majority of the crease and or like contouring of my eye that i did was with this makeup geek quad which is so sad because makeup geek is now going out of business but a lot of the tones in here you can also find in this palette i'm just being overly complicated because that's the kind of girl i am and i want to be as true to my wedding makeup look as i can but you can find these shades in this palette i mean you can probably already see what i'm talking about but before we do that let's go ahead and prime the eyes i ended up using the stay don't stray primer by benefit in the light medium shade it is darker than my lids which i honestly don't really mind since i'm going to be putting so much eyeshadow on them i say so much i just don't mind that it's kind of concealing the veins i think is really why i enjoy this particular product and honestly i wasn't sure that this product would make much of a difference in comparison to just using concealer on the lids but i really do think that this helped the longevity of my eyeshadow simply because it's a little less thick than a concealer and since i also like setting my eye primer having less layers is obviously better so i apply that eye primer and then with my refer 18 brush it's just this kind of like candle shaped brush that i typically use to apply powder under my eyes if i'm not doing formal event makeup i'm using this on my lids with just just a sprinkling of that loose powder to sort of set things down so just blending away some of that excess powder now we're ready to go now we are ready to get into the eye look this is going to be so painfully basic but i am going to go ahead and pull my camera forward so you can kind of see more in detail what i'm doing okay so we're starting out with this quad from makeup geek i ended up putting this together myself and i will list the shade names in the description i don't know them off hand but i'm going to put these first two kind of pill brownish shades in my crease and just blend out and that is going to be the majority of this eye look frankly i am not complex when it comes to eyes even for a wedding look i knew that i wasn't going to apply a million shadows and i knew i wasn't going to do something complex because that's just not what i personally am into i looked at so many different makeup tutorials on youtube for bridal looks and i was so impressed with all of them i tried some of them i just realized i just don't i just don't like eyeshadow that much so i don't need to apply as much as i thought that i did i think a lot of us are concerned that like our makeup needs to show up on our wedding day and that is true but i found that for me the thing that mattered the most was again contour bronzer blush and then the eye makeup as long as you're wearing some false lashes it doesn't matter how much eye shadow you're applying it's gonna look good i assure you so i'm just applying this in my crease and i like to go kind of all the way in i don't like an outer corner specific look that was one of the things i wasn't a huge fan of in my makeup trial was how much of the crease color was focused on the outer corner of my eye i don't think that i have particularly like wide set or downturned eyes but something about that technique just didn't work for me and i know it's pretty common when it comes to makeup artists like applying makeup for weddings so just something to be aware of if you have like a similar eye shape to mine i'm gonna go ahead and finish up blending this eye off camera and doing this one as well okay so i blended to my heart's content i also went up pretty high close to my brow bone with that crease color simply because when you put on false lashes any of the work that you did in your crease is going to look so much lower down than it did before i've personally found that to be the case every time i apply false lashes and i don't like the look of having my crease color right here and my eyelashes coming up to here so i go pretty high with that crease color another thing that i like to do or at least i liked to do with this particular look was go in with a slightly warmer transition shade just to kind of make everything look a little bit more flawless look a little bit more blended since i'm not the queen of blending so i am going in with the shade labeled blend in the natasha denona palette with a very light hand and my refer 27 brush forever 27 brush might be up there with my refer 22 brush y'all it is flawless it's just a little bit of the shade i think it just it elevates things i feel like it's not showing up on camera as well as it is in real life but it's just adding a dimension that i think this look needs since i didn't go in with that initial transition color i think just kind of cheating a transition and putting a little bit near my brow bone it's working it's working for me the only other shades i ended up using were the middle row inner corner shade on you guessed it the inner corner of my eye and then a little bit of that really pale brown shade from the makeup geek quad i'm also going to use that on my lid i'm actually going to go ahead and do that first i think that's just going to be a little bit easier to show so i'm going in with my rougher number one brush any sort of a flat but fluffy lid brush will work perfectly for this i'm just going kind of all over the lid with this shade it's going to make it look like again you spent more time blending your eyeshadow than you actually did i also found and this is something that my mom kind of was trying to tell me for years and i just didn't listen to her using a shade that is not super pale on your eyelid is kind of a good thing if you have very round eyes i don't have hooded eyes but they can look hooded if i put a shade that is too pale on my eyelid it just makes my eyes end up looking smaller than i want them to and it doesn't give the desired effect so instead of doing a really pale shade or a really really dark shade on the lid i end up going in with just a pale brown something that is going to complement the rest of the eye look just kind of gently all over the lid and i think it helps to seamlessly transition between the lid and the crease but also to look a little bit less stark on the eye so so that's what i end up doing kind of as a base on my lid and then i'm going in with two more shadows and then we're done technically one is a shadow and one's a topper but i'm going in with this inner corner shade from the natasha denona palette on my finger just on the kind of first inner half of my eye i am not fancy when it comes to my lids i don't really like applying lid colors with a brush unless it is just kind of like wash of color and i feel like this shadow brought the appropriate amount of shine without being too fussy i really don't love shimmery shadows which is going to come as a surprise when i apply this topper but i didn't want something that was going to be too reflective i just don't love the way it looks and i don't usually wear shimmery shadows anyway so again i wanted to stick to kind of what i'm used to so that is the basic eye look if you want to get fancy and for your wedding day of course you want to get fancy you got to do a topper and this topper it's a game changer i ended up having all of my bridesmaids all three of my bridesmaids buy this after the wedding and i say that i didn't make them purchase this they wanted to purchase it after i used it because of how stunning it ended up looking on the eyes it is the makeup by mario master crystal reflector in quartz it is very white looking and it is sort of a loose glitter really finely milled glitter so i just use again my middle finger i kind of swirl around in the product and i start gently tapping on the eye it's it's not gonna look as fantastic on camera as it does in real life but this added all of the dimension that i wanted on my wedding day it was so stunning and i feel like it looked really really beautiful in person as well i did have other people asking me what was on my eyes and i don't feel like i often get compliments on my eyeshadow looks because they're not that special but uh this product really it brings out the compliments i highly recommend it if i could recommend one product from this whole tutorial it would be this product right here if you are light to medium skin tone you need this particular color they're also i think a bronzy shade and a gold shade that would be absolutely gorgeous on darker skin but it's amazing it's incredible you need it the only other thing that i'm going to do in terms of eyeshadow on my eye is going in with honestly any of these dark brown shades from the natasha denona palette on a small pencil brush i'm using the refer 03 brush for this and i'm just going to apply this to my lower lash line not normally a lower lash line eyeshadow kind of girly but for my wedding day and especially to balance sort of a heavier false lash i think applying a little bit of eyeliner or eyeshadow to the lower lash line and a little bit of mascara is a way to make things look as balanced as possible now we're ready to get into the liquid eyeliner i ended up using the stila stay all day in black and it really did stay all day there were times during my ceremony that i cried and i was so concerned that my makeup was going to smear off pictures would turn out bad that did not happen none of my makeup really smeared throughout the night this is an eyeliner you're going to want if you are cryer i'm going to quickly talk you through what i'm going to do before i do it because i cannot talk while doing my eyeliner but i'm applying just a regular line of liquid liner with a little bit of a cat eye at the end definitely upturned i think that is the key for me i don't like to go straight out with my eyeliner i like to go up a little bit to really open and lift the eyes and same when i apply my false lashes i like to trim them and make sure that they're definitely upturned at the ends instead of dragging my eye down at the bottom so like to be a little bit thicker in the inner corner on days like today when i'm going to be applying false lashes so that my lash band kind of blends a little bit more seamlessly and also if your inner corner lash comes up god forbid that you won't end up seeing it in your pictures like i saw it in my engagement pictures nightmare status i don't that happened to you and it didn't happen to me for my wedding pictures thank god because of a couple of tricks that i learned but nothing is worse than the inner corner of your lash showing in pictures oh i just hate it i hate it so a little bit thicker with the eyeliner will help alleviate that okay so that's probably as even as i'm going to be getting it today because i have limited space in front of me i actually have all of my makeup on a couple of stacked sterilite storage containers and it's a little wobbly so if my eyes are a little uneven i'm okay with it uh the day of i did redo the wing on my left eye like three times to match my right eye it looks perfect to look flawless make sure you spend time on your eyeliner on your wedding day i don't think i have to tell you that i'm sure you know but uh today things are a little less flawless another thing that i think will help the longevity of your eyeliner and also make your eyeliner look just a little bit more flawless when blended with your false lashes is going to be using some sort of like gel or cream liner on your tightline of your top lid i know it's not the most comfortable process it's not something that i do frequently because i'm quite lazy when it comes to this stuff but it ends up looking so much better and so much more real i guess you'd say when you have those false lashes blending in with your lashes you know there's always that like gap there's always a gap and this i think helps eliminate the gap so i go in with i think it's like the maybelline lasting drama gel liner and i'm also using this refer 29 brush any sort of like flat brush that you can easily kind of push along your lash line i think helps and i also like to kind of go over my liquid liner with this product i think it helps to mattify your eyeliner i think with a lot of liquid liners they don't dry down as mad as i would like they don't look as black and intense i think this helps a lot with that so i'm going to go ahead and do that but now that we're done with that step we can go ahead and apply our eyebrows now this is a step that you can obviously do after you apply your false lashes i find that it's easier to do ahead of time though simply because it gives my brow gel time to set down before i have the weight of my false lashes hitting up against my eyebrows and kind of messing things up so let's go ahead and knock those out first i am really really simple when it comes to my brows i'm not fussy i don't really care i feel like my brows are pretty dark as is and i don't want to add too much product to them so i just used this three dollar eye pencil from elf it's the instant brow pencil in dark brown and i just fill in my brows with this and then i go in with the anastasia clear brow gel i just recently picked this up right before my wedding i wanted something that was really going to again hold those eyebrow hairs in place and really make sure that whenever again my false eyelashes hit up against my eyebrows they aren't going to move and they aren't going to kind of fall down into my eyeshadow look if that makes sense i have pretty long eyebrow hairs and they don't like to stay in place so i think this really does a good job at making things stay and also not feeling or looking crusty which i think has happened before but i've used other clear brow gels in the past okay the brows are all done i feel like they look natural they're set in place and now i know that they definitely won't move whenever i apply my false lashes so the first step for me at least i know everybody has different opinions on this is to apply mascara to my lashes and also to curl my lashes before i do so i like doing this because i do feel like the lashes end up blending better when you have a little bit of mascara on them though i do use a mostly dried up mascara whenever i am doing this step i don't want my eyelashes to be too clumpy because obviously a fake lash is not gonna have any clumps to it so it's gonna look a little funky if your lashes are clumped and the fake lashes aren't and i personally don't like applying mascara after applying false lashes i don't think i don't think it's a recipe for success so applying a sort of dry mascara that i know is not going to clump up on me and then applying false lashes is definitely the way to go i'm also going to use some of this same dried out mascara on my bottom lash line i think again to balance out a false lash you're going to need a little bit of mascara on your bottom eyelashes mine are pretty long and have the tendency to look a little spidery so i don't really like a lot of mascara on my bottom eyelashes on a daily basis i like literally never apply mascara on here for a special event i know it's necessary so again using a dried out mascara i think can get you a balanced look without looking a little too crazy obviously something you might want to take into consideration when doing wedding makeup is what kind of mascara you're using and how much you're applying since i applied so little mascara i didn't really feel weird about not using a waterproof one this mascara this dried out mascara is lash paradise and it is not the waterproof version and i didn't have any experience with this smearing or running because again i didn't apply very much to my top lash line i didn't apply very much on the bottom your mileage might vary and it depends how much you cry i did cry but i didn't full-on sub so i think that definitely made the difference so i can't necessarily recommend to use a non-waterproof mascara but just letting you know that's kind of what i did now to one of the portions of my makeup that i hotly debated and tested out for the month leading up to my wedding should be the false lashes i had no idea what style i wanted to go with i had never really enjoyed the look of fake eyelashes on myself i felt like in pictures my eyes ended up looking a little bit too small and not as open and bright as i want them to be i have naturally pretty large eyes and i want them to look very open and bright but for my wedding i also wanted to look a little bit sultry so i had a hard time finding a style that i really wanted to stick with and a style that i thought would look really good with kind of the bridal look that i was going for but the ones that i ended up going with were ones that i initially did not think were going to fit the bill they are the house of lashes noir fairy light style they're quite short lash they're slightly flared on the ends and they're definitely very flattery um i'm going to cut i want to say like the last two little segments of lashes off of this lash band because i really don't like the end of an eyelash to hit at the very end of my eye i feel like if it hits at the very end of your eye it ends up bringing your eye down a little bit i'm not one of those people who thinks that you shouldn't apply your eyelash band close to your lash line to like fake a cat eye i don't think that i think it can look funky in pictures but i do think if you're wanting an eye opening effect you don't want your eye to be downturned you should cut a little bit off of your lash and also you don't want your lash to go entirely into your inner corner so finding that balance that like perfect length for you it's going to take some trial and error but for me i know for these cutting off about this much of the lash is going to be perfect okay now we're ready to apply the lashes and i think the biggest game changer for me when it came to keeping my inner corner down was the type of lash glue i was using and the color of lash glue i'm using i was using duo clear lash glue whenever i had that fiasco i think the issue there was that the lash didn't blend seamlessly into my eyeliner anyway and so it was gonna look a little funky even if the inner corner had stayed down and then when it did lift up it was just so obvious i don't know how i don't know how to put in towards how angry i am saying that because it's not something you can easily photoshop out right i know it's silly but it bugs me to this day i ended up picking up the house of lashes eyelash adhesive in the dark tone this is this is my everything i love this so much it ends up looking like eyeliner it blends flawlessly and i think this is especially good if you're someone who really likes ardell or kiss lashes that have that sort of like clear band i have found when i use a clear lash glue with a band like that it does not blend seamlessly into my eyeliner i can still see the clear parts of that lash band up against my eyelashes and i don't think it looks flawless using something like this using a dark tone lash glue is the key so i'm just going to apply a thin line of this to my lashes and then i'm going to put a very very minuscule amount on the i don't want to say inner corner of my lash but where i want the inner corner of my lash to sit i have to be very careful not to get any of the glue in my eyelashes i inevitably end up getting it there anyway but i think that makes all the difference having the glue on the lash and also on your lash line it's not moving it is not moving once you lay it down so i'm gonna go ahead and do that off camera and then i'll show you what these lashes look like on so lashes are successfully applied again i feel like these lashes both look sexy and also eye opening which is really what i wanted when i picked these out now one thing that i think can help these look as perfect as possible is to reapply some of your liquid eyeliner i find this happens whenever i apply false lashes but sometimes the angle at which the band sits can affect the way that your eyeliner looks when you're looking straight on sometimes it can look like the line is not perfectly flawless and i think just touching up in certain places can help it look as perfect as possible okay i don't know if that makes any difference on camera but in person it looks so much better also i feel like on camera my lashes are looking a little bit uneven and unmatched but in person they're looking pretty good i think maybe this one's a little bit higher up than this for today's purposes who cares we're almost done with the look uh the last step is applying lip color and i kept it really really simple i experimented with a ton of different lip colors i didn't know if i wanted to go dark for a while i thought i was going to go for something like red or maroon just something really really deep but i ended up going with kind of like a mid-tone pink instead i'm really happy with my choice it seems a little bit more classic and it feels a little bit more bridal so after much experimentation i went with a very like old school choice and format of lip color and it did end up staying all day which i was really happy with the less old school part of this lip combo is the dangerous dolly lip liner from buxom i feel like this was creamy enough to where it was easy to blend but it also stayed really well and then i used the revlon colorstay overtime lip color it's one of those liquid lips that they make you dry down first and then use a clear gloss over and even though it was incredibly windy for my outdoor ceremony nothing ended up smearing on my face once the gloss kind of sits down a little bit it just gives a beautiful sheen without being too sticky so i'm going to go ahead and apply this i really love how this lip liner 2 has a brush on the other side so you can easily blend in the lip liner so it's not so stark against your lip color as the instructions say for this product i would let it dry for i don't know 30 seconds or honestly as long as you can take the feeling of this drying down i really hate a traditional liquid lip but this one was comfortable and didn't get kind of like buttholy throughout the night which i appreciated i think the gloss was the key i think i reapplied the gloss it would have looked even better throughout the night as well but even without doing that i think it still looked pretty damn fantastic and i didn't have to worry about whether or not my lip color would come off on hayden throughout the night and that is it this is the final completed bridal makeup look this is the look that i wore on my wedding day i couldn't be more happy with how this turned out especially for pictures pictures that are going to hopefully last a lifetime the only other stuff that i did off-camera was applying the urban decay all-nighter setting spray definitely do this to kind of lock in your makeup it will help it last all night long but that is it that is all i have for you today i hope this was in some way helpful especially if you are a pill girl like myself i feel like it was so hard finding other pill girls doing their bridal makeup i know they exist out there but um there were just some tips and tricks that i wish i had known when i did my initial engagement pictures and um i definitely learned on my own for my wedding pictures but if y'all have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments down below and i'll do my best to answer them i appreciate your support in watching a video format that i definitely don't normally do but i love you all so much thanks so much for your patience and until next timehello welcome back to my channel in today's video i'm going to be doing my bridal makeup tutorial now if you have been following me for any length of time you know this is not a makeup channel i don't typically do makeup related content here but a few of you probably three of you asked on instagram if i could record my bridal makeup tutorial simply because i diy'd my own wedding makeup this is the look that i wore on my wedding day and i personally feel like it turned out really well for pictures especially and not only was i feeling self-indulgent in wanting to make this video i also thought it could maybe be helpful for really really pale people like myself in knowing what tones and what shades might look best in photography i will say my number one tip before we get into the tutorial version of this video is to do an engagement photo shoot with your wedding day photographer i think a lot of photographers at this point will build that into their price package but if it's not already built in i would highly recommend doing this if you are going to diy your wedding makeup i ended up doing my own makeup for my engagement pictures because i wasn't sure if i wanted to hire someone or if i wanted to do my own makeup for my wedding and i definitely learned a lot from that process i learned what products did not look good in pictures i learned how much bronzer you truly need in wedding pictures as a really really pale person and what colors of blush and lip are going to look the best as a pill person colors show up completely differently on us than they do on people with deeper skin tones so i'm hoping that in some way this video will give you some helpful hints and tips if you were in the same boat as me for reference i feel like i don't look super pale in this video simply because my lighting is flattering and also i have a ton of bronzer on but i am paler than taylor nguyen i think she if we're gonna go just on like a basic foundation scale is probably like a shade two or a three i'm like a shade one or two pale for the first shade a foundation in a lot of brands so i am very very pale and that has definitely impacted the choices that i've made with my makeup for my wedding day but if you're interested at all in learning about what products i used on my face or the techniques or look that i did for my wedding day stay tuned because i'm gonna give you all the details in this video i'm also going to link in the description all of the products that i'm using today without further ado let's get into the tutorial sorry for the jump scare let's get into the makeup so the first step is one that i spent so much time deliberating on the week before my wedding my skin type kind of entirely flipped on me i have been historically so dry and not just like a little dry i mean so dry that even the dewiest like most beautiful radiant foundations look on everybody look horrible on me that kind of dry but i started getting oily in my t-zone like the week before my wedding i think part of that too was that the weather was changing it was a lot more humid outside but i was faced with foundation breaking up in my t-zone for the first time ever and i had to figure out how to deal with that and get my foundation to look good all day i knew that i was going to be getting ready for my wedding around noon at the latest and my ceremony wasn't going to be until 5. i needed my foundation and my makeup in general to look fantastic all day and i feel like i did achieve that with a very simple combo i didn't end up using any true primers i just used the urban decay all nighter setting spray under foundation and then again to set once all of my makeup was completed i already sprayed this before pressing record but i found that it doesn't really matter if i let it dry down or not before applying foundation that's just like the first step that i do on freshly washed moisturized skin and then i go in with my foundation combination this was a foundation combination that i used for my engagement pictures and it was kind of my fallback after trying a couple of those foundations that are like recommended for weddings i just couldn't find anything i really liked and so i went back to this old reliable combo i ended up using one pump of double wear and then one pump of the makeup forever reboot foundation both of these are in the lightest shade because i'm super super pale i feel like this combination was great not only in terms of formulation but also in the color i feel like the double wear is just a little bit too pale for me the reboot's just a little bit too dark and cool for me and combining these was the perfect combination the double wear is really really matte and long wearing and the reboot is a little bit more glowy and doesn't have the longevity that i need from a foundation for this kind of event and combining the two match made in heaven so one full pump of each of these on the back of my hand i combine them with my elf putty primer applicator and then i apply it just with my fingers and then i blend with a foundation brush all right now we're looking appropriately ghostly one tip that i think a lot of people give you when it comes to doing your foundation is to bring your foundation down your neck if you are very very pale i do not recommend this try to find a foundation that truly matches your skin where this won't be a problem i personally didn't do any sort of like spray tanning for my wedding and i knew my chest was going to be so so pale if anything paler than my face and i didn't want to bring down a foundation all the way down my neck and it not looks seamless that's one thing i definitely don't recommend if you're not someone who tans do not take your foundation all the way down your neck it's just not it's gonna look much weirder in my opinion to have a discrepancy of color between right here and right here than right here and right here does that make sense the next step obviously is concealer i use tarte shape tape it is just the only thing that works for my dark circles i am going to apply this under my eyes only i usually will apply this to my eyelids as well to act kind of as an eye primer i didn't do this for my wedding simply because i know that this kind of creases on top of my eyelids so i'm using a different primer for that now for my concealer it sort of depends on if i'm doing wedding makeup versus regular everyday makeup whether or not i'm going to use a beauty sponge or a concealer brush to apply for a special event or something that i know is going to be heavily photographed i do like to use a concealer brush simply because the coverage is so much higher and even though you're going to have some hd pictures you're not going to be so up close that you're going to see any sort of creasing that can happen when you use this kind of brush also with the powder that we're going to apply under the eyes you're not going to see a lot of creasing anyway also pro tip if you end up getting shape tape get the little minis i know it's not the most cost effective but if you're someone like me who really hates when the rim of the tube gets all goopy this will be your saving grace because that doesn't happen with the tiny applicator so i'm just applying this under my eye i know that it's not trendy anymore to do the v under your eyes but i don't really care because that's what works for me and i am just bringing this down honestly not all the way to the bottom of my nose but pretty far down just so i get that brightness all the way across uh when you're really pale it can be hard to create light and shadow on your face it's like everything kind of just disappears and melts into your skin and that is the biggest tip that i have for you whenever you are doing your wedding makeup especially if you're pale try to create light and shadow contour the hell out of your face if you're someone who really wants your pictures to stand out and look beautiful i love being pale i don't really want to change the color of my skin but i do need that shadow so that the pictures pick up the features of my face otherwise it's just going to be one brown moon we're creating that moon right now and then we're going to add the contour back in after we apply this concealer okay now that that concealer is applied we can go ahead and blend just a little bit with a beauty sponge i really like the real techniques mini blenders i think the beauty blender equivalent of this sponge is a lot smaller and i personally feel like those are too small for your under eye area this is the perfect size and i just like it to kind of blend out any sort of like harsh edges i might have when it comes to that concealer but i really feel like this is pretty flawless before we set we are going to go ahead and apply the last of our cream products which is going to be the fenty cream bronzer in amber this is such a beautiful product if you are very very pale it is kind of a mix between a bronzer and a contour it is a really gray looking product but this is a product that i'm going to apply first as kind of that under layer of shadow before i end up applying bronzer to my skin and i use two separate brushes for this product now i will forewarn you the contour and bronzing process for this makeup look is like half of the look it's really crucial when it comes to pictures i promise you here's a picture right here you understand what i'm saying right like this is what is going to create the shape of your face so using a million products using whatever you can i think is kind of crucial here you don't need quite this many products but like you definitely are going to want to do in my opinion more than just one bronzing step so i use the rougher 17 brush i don't think you need this particular brush any sort of like small flat top brush will work and then i end up using the elf ultimate blending brush to blend out this product these are like a match made in heaven i love using these together and i feel like this creates the perfect underlayment for the rest of our bronzing so i'm taking the bronzer on this rougher brush and i'm first kind of applying it under my cheekbones and i'm not doing any sort of blending i'm just applying and you can see how absolutely wild this looks and i like to do one side of my face at a time just to make sure that the product doesn't end up drying down before i am able to blend it out but i pretty much take it from my cheekbone up all around my face on this other cheekbone and then on the sides of my nose that is personally where i'd like to contour i think doing a really harsh contour on your jawline for pictures and in person is maybe not the best approach for a wedding day but if that's something that you're self-conscious about or something you want to contour obviously go for it um so we're just gonna go again to that like midway point and then we're going to blend it out next we use the elf ultimate blending brush to slowly start blending this in to the face i don't worry so much about getting this part perfect again because this is only one of like three bronzing steps we're going to do i just love the way that this creates shape on the face without being overly warm toned we are gonna go in with some really warm toned bronzers but i like the initial just sort of like shape to the face to have more of kind of a cool toned shadowy effect so i personally think the difference between this side of my face and this side of my face is very marked i do my nose last um that's just a personal preference thing but already i feel like we're off to a pretty good start okay now we can go in with the nose i'm a little bit more subtle on the nose just because i know there's going to be other products i want to put on here as well i liked the way my nose contour looked in my pictures it was definitely obvious but i feel like it added shape and dimension to my face that was definitely my main complaint from my engagement pictures and i say complaint it was not the photographer's fault it was definitely on me was that my face just had no shape and dimension to it so i really over corrected i think with the bronzer ended up looking a little more bronzy than maybe i had intended but i think it ended up paying off and i feel like my pictures look better as a result over bronze all the time now that we're finished with our cream products we're gonna go ahead and set the entire face with a loose powder i'm just using the laura mercier loose translucent powder any sort of translucent powder will work as long as it is not one of those white hd powders and i didn't have any issues with this powder breaking up throughout the night which i really appreciated but i'm using two different sponges with this powder i'm using the kind of full size real techniques sponge into that mini one for under the eye i start from the eye outwards so we're gonna go in with this mini sponge and i don't do a baking technique i end up dipping the side of my sponge in this powder and scraping off any of the excess i just want a thin layer of powder and then i just stamp it under my under eye area and i kind of use that in that same triangle area that we were applying that concealer to and it instantly flattens things out mattifies and then i use that same exact technique of kind of dipping my sponge and then scraping off the sides and i end up powdering my entire face which is not something that i would typically do but for a big event like this i really want to make sure everything is very set and it will also help blend out those powder products we're going to apply on top so first we're going to go in with the wayne goss contour kit i think this is the light version again i'll have everything linked down in the description all the products i'm using but i'm only using the contour shade in this palette the bronzer unfortunately is a little bit too warm for me but this contour is impeccable it's one of those products that works really good in the hollows of your cheeks when you turn to the side i don't think it looks too muddy or weird i love this powder contour it's the only one that i use and i am applying it with the refer number four brush i will be referencing a lot of rougher brushes in this video i really really love them they're definitely not a necessity but i do think that tools are more important than products i don't have my favorite bronzer brush with me right now my mom accidentally took it home after my wedding and i have been completely lost without it just a testament to how a really good brush can change the makeup application experience enough rambling let's get into the contouring i'm just using this powder in the hollows of my cheeks again to create a little bit more shape and dimension i'm blending with the same brush which i know is not like super professional but i kind of don't care i'm not a professional and then i am going to apply a little bit on the sides of my nose as well i try to keep the sides of my nose pretty cool toned as opposed to the rest of my face and again it might look a little bit crazy on camera but i assure you in professional pictures it's going to look great when in doubt i mean you can always ask your photographer hey do a test shot on me and you know you can see oh it looks like my blush is a little bit too pale let me add a little bit more or whatever um having a good relationship with your photographer is really really key i also told my photographer any of my insecurities and or angles that didn't work for me i personally don't like my side profile and i am also very prone to a weak chin so i wanted to make sure that my chin was very lifted in all of my pictures and that made all the difference between my engagement pictures versus my wedding pictures so now we move on to the 10 pounds of bronzer i'm about to apply we're going to start out with a charlotte tilbury bronzer that doesn't really look like a bronzer it is the airbrush bronzer in fair and this in person looks like a face powder it is so very pale and at first i didn't really know how to apply this product because i wasn't able to kind of build it up with intensity i love this as a blending bronzer which sounds a little bit weird but when you were super super pale going in with even the fairest of bronzers ends up looking a little bit harsh and or patchy at times if you don't blend appropriately and i'm not great at blending let's be honest again i'm not a professional here but i do find that using a really pale bronzer to blend a darker shade helps so much so i'm actually going to use this first to set that perimeter of my face again and then i'm going to intensify with another bronzer i have two that i really love and swear by i can't remember exactly which one i used for my wedding day i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume it was my hourglass bronzer that i'm running low on this is the ambient lighting bronzing powder in nude bronze light it is a perfect shade for really really pale people and another really great contender if you're a little bit darker than me is the milk chocolate soleil bronzer these are both fantastic i'm pretty sure i ended up using this one as like my intensifier but they're both absolutely fantastic and work really good to kind of build up that kind of gradient effect on the forehead now the only bummer today is that i don't have my refer 22 bronzer brush it was the first brush that i ended up buying from ruffer and is the brush of my dreams and of my heart it's quite expensive i think even on sale it was around 80 but it is hands down my favorite brush i can't live without it and having to apply my bronzer on camera right now without it is is kind of heartbreaking uh but i do have this elf flawless face brush that is a similar shape but a much smaller size so we're gonna see if this ends up working for my purposes i'm hoping that i can get the same effect with this brush we'll go ahead and see if this is going to work i don't know it doesn't seem to be picking up as much product as i'm used to but that's fine i know how to intensify a bronzer i don't know man i've tried a million different brushes that i have in in hopes that it would act as a temporary replacement until i could get my bronzer brush back from my mom but none have really proven themselves as well as that brush this one seems to be working okay so we're gonna go with it uh you're probably not gonna see much of a color difference as i apply this to kind of set that uh contour but that's kind of the whole point we want just something powdery to be able to blend on top of i think we're looking pretty good now we're gonna intensify okay hopefully i can build up the intensity with this brush but i'm gonna go in with the nude bronze light powder really swirling it in there and concentrating this on the true perimeter near my hairline you don't wanna bring it too far down on the forehead otherwise i think it's gonna look a little bit too much like a fake tan looking pretty good i am going to apply just a little bit to the sides of my nose and then i'm going to go in with this massive powder brush that really doesn't apply very much product again with that charlotte tilbury bronzer and we're going to go ahead and try to like buff out some of this so it's a little less harsh now that we're looking appropriately kind of spooky but also like kind of nice at the same time we're done with bronzing for now uh full disclosure i ended up applying a lot more bronzer than this on my wedding day but for today's purposes this is what we're going with now for blush one of my favorite steps of makeup one of the discoveries i made after my engagement photo shoot was that unfortunately even though i used what i thought was a pretty cool toned blush and lip color with my photographer's editing style just with the natural lighting on a pale person it ended up pulling very orangey and while i love a good peachy look i didn't really want to look orangy in my wedding pictures and i will say even in the pictures from my wedding my makeup still does pull a little bit warm when it comes to the cheek in the lip color but i think it was a vast improvement and looked a lot more natural so all that being said i ended up picking really really cool toned products for my cheeks and lip ended up going with the pat mcgrath skin fetish blush in divine rose this is kind of a cool toned mavi blush and it's pretty intense i had looked at a couple of blushes that were paler in intensity but really really purpley for some reason again they pulled really warm on me and just did not end up looking great in pictures but something about this blush it just photographs really beautifully despite it not having a luminosity to it in my opinion i feel like it blends really flawlessly and even when i built it up i don't feel like it looks super crazy simply because of the tone it's not a super bright blush it's one that even if you apply a ton of it it still ends up looking mostly natural for highlighter i ended up using my colourpop flexitarian highlighter this is one of their super shock cheek products and if you are super super super pale this is so beautiful it is pale and pretty white but it is not so stark i think that it looks wild and i ended up applying this down the center of my nose and on the tops of my cheekbones i know that some people think nose highlight is a little bit aggressive and you would be right but i i kind of need that otherwise again i end up looking like i have no shape and dimension to my face i'm just applying it with my middle finger kind of tapping and blending as i go i have tried to apply this product with various different brushes over the years and i just don't think brushes do as good of a job so fingers it is and i go from about the center of my eye outward on my cheekbone now we can move on to the eyes another part of my face honestly that i spent a lot of time thinking about i think my biggest considerations when it came to my eyes were what lashes i was going to apply and how intense i wanted my eyeshadow to be i don't apply very much eyeshadow on a daily basis i typically just apply some brown in my crease and call it a day i don't even apply lid color most of the time i knew that i needed to intensify my look for a wedding setting but i knew that i didn't want anything that was going to be so intense that i didn't look and feel like myself i used two separate palettes for this look but you can definitely just use one the palettes that i ended up going with are the natasha denona glam palette this palette if you are pale please pick it up is not as cool as you think it would be i think if you would put this on someone who is much tanner than myself it would end up looking really really cool toned on me most of these shades end up pulling warm which is kind of surprising and i used this for kind of a transitiony color and for a little bit of an inner corner color the majority of the crease and or like contouring of my eye that i did was with this makeup geek quad which is so sad because makeup geek is now going out of business but a lot of the tones in here you can also find in this palette i'm just being overly complicated because that's the kind of girl i am and i want to be as true to my wedding makeup look as i can but you can find these shades in this palette i mean you can probably already see what i'm talking about but before we do that let's go ahead and prime the eyes i ended up using the stay don't stray primer by benefit in the light medium shade it is darker than my lids which i honestly don't really mind since i'm going to be putting so much eyeshadow on them i say so much i just don't mind that it's kind of concealing the veins i think is really why i enjoy this particular product and honestly i wasn't sure that this product would make much of a difference in comparison to just using concealer on the lids but i really do think that this helped the longevity of my eyeshadow simply because it's a little less thick than a concealer and since i also like setting my eye primer having less layers is obviously better so i apply that eye primer and then with my refer 18 brush it's just this kind of like candle shaped brush that i typically use to apply powder under my eyes if i'm not doing formal event makeup i'm using this on my lids with just just a sprinkling of that loose powder to sort of set things down so just blending away some of that excess powder now we're ready to go now we are ready to get into the eye look this is going to be so painfully basic but i am going to go ahead and pull my camera forward so you can kind of see more in detail what i'm doing okay so we're starting out with this quad from makeup geek i ended up putting this together myself and i will list the shade names in the description i don't know them off hand but i'm going to put these first two kind of pill brownish shades in my crease and just blend out and that is going to be the majority of this eye look frankly i am not complex when it comes to eyes even for a wedding look i knew that i wasn't going to apply a million shadows and i knew i wasn't going to do something complex because that's just not what i personally am into i looked at so many different makeup tutorials on youtube for bridal looks and i was so impressed with all of them i tried some of them i just realized i just don't i just don't like eyeshadow that much so i don't need to apply as much as i thought that i did i think a lot of us are concerned that like our makeup needs to show up on our wedding day and that is true but i found that for me the thing that mattered the most was again contour bronzer blush and then the eye makeup as long as you're wearing some false lashes it doesn't matter how much eye shadow you're applying it's gonna look good i assure you so i'm just applying this in my crease and i like to go kind of all the way in i don't like an outer corner specific look that was one of the things i wasn't a huge fan of in my makeup trial was how much of the crease color was focused on the outer corner of my eye i don't think that i have particularly like wide set or downturned eyes but something about that technique just didn't work for me and i know it's pretty common when it comes to makeup artists like applying makeup for weddings so just something to be aware of if you have like a similar eye shape to mine i'm gonna go ahead and finish up blending this eye off camera and doing this one as well okay so i blended to my heart's content i also went up pretty high close to my brow bone with that crease color simply because when you put on false lashes any of the work that you did in your crease is going to look so much lower down than it did before i've personally found that to be the case every time i apply false lashes and i don't like the look of having my crease color right here and my eyelashes coming up to here so i go pretty high with that crease color another thing that i like to do or at least i liked to do with this particular look was go in with a slightly warmer transition shade just to kind of make everything look a little bit more flawless look a little bit more blended since i'm not the queen of blending so i am going in with the shade labeled blend in the natasha denona palette with a very light hand and my refer 27 brush forever 27 brush might be up there with my refer 22 brush y'all it is flawless it's just a little bit of the shade i think it just it elevates things i feel like it's not showing up on camera as well as it is in real life but it's just adding a dimension that i think this look needs since i didn't go in with that initial transition color i think just kind of cheating a transition and putting a little bit near my brow bone it's working it's working for me the only other shades i ended up using were the middle row inner corner shade on you guessed it the inner corner of my eye and then a little bit of that really pale brown shade from the makeup geek quad i'm also going to use that on my lid i'm actually going to go ahead and do that first i think that's just going to be a little bit easier to show so i'm going in with my rougher number one brush any sort of a flat but fluffy lid brush will work perfectly for this i'm just going kind of all over the lid with this shade it's going to make it look like again you spent more time blending your eyeshadow than you actually did i also found and this is something that my mom kind of was trying to tell me for years and i just didn't listen to her using a shade that is not super pale on your eyelid is kind of a good thing if you have very round eyes i don't have hooded eyes but they can look hooded if i put a shade that is too pale on my eyelid it just makes my eyes end up looking smaller than i want them to and it doesn't give the desired effect so instead of doing a really pale shade or a really really dark shade on the lid i end up going in with just a pale brown something that is going to complement the rest of the eye look just kind of gently all over the lid and i think it helps to seamlessly transition between the lid and the crease but also to look a little bit less stark on the eye so so that's what i end up doing kind of as a base on my lid and then i'm going in with two more shadows and then we're done technically one is a shadow and one's a topper but i'm going in with this inner corner shade from the natasha denona palette on my finger just on the kind of first inner half of my eye i am not fancy when it comes to my lids i don't really like applying lid colors with a brush unless it is just kind of like wash of color and i feel like this shadow brought the appropriate amount of shine without being too fussy i really don't love shimmery shadows which is going to come as a surprise when i apply this topper but i didn't want something that was going to be too reflective i just don't love the way it looks and i don't usually wear shimmery shadows anyway so again i wanted to stick to kind of what i'm used to so that is the basic eye look if you want to get fancy and for your wedding day of course you want to get fancy you got to do a topper and this topper it's a game changer i ended up having all of my bridesmaids all three of my bridesmaids buy this after the wedding and i say that i didn't make them purchase this they wanted to purchase it after i used it because of how stunning it ended up looking on the eyes it is the makeup by mario master crystal reflector in quartz it is very white looking and it is sort of a loose glitter really finely milled glitter so i just use again my middle finger i kind of swirl around in the product and i start gently tapping on the eye it's it's not gonna look as fantastic on camera as it does in real life but this added all of the dimension that i wanted on my wedding day it was so stunning and i feel like it looked really really beautiful in person as well i did have other people asking me what was on my eyes and i don't feel like i often get compliments on my eyeshadow looks because they're not that special but uh this product really it brings out the compliments i highly recommend it if i could recommend one product from this whole tutorial it would be this product right here if you are light to medium skin tone you need this particular color they're also i think a bronzy shade and a gold shade that would be absolutely gorgeous on darker skin but it's amazing it's incredible you need it the only other thing that i'm going to do in terms of eyeshadow on my eye is going in with honestly any of these dark brown shades from the natasha denona palette on a small pencil brush i'm using the refer 03 brush for this and i'm just going to apply this to my lower lash line not normally a lower lash line eyeshadow kind of girly but for my wedding day and especially to balance sort of a heavier false lash i think applying a little bit of eyeliner or eyeshadow to the lower lash line and a little bit of mascara is a way to make things look as balanced as possible now we're ready to get into the liquid eyeliner i ended up using the stila stay all day in black and it really did stay all day there were times during my ceremony that i cried and i was so concerned that my makeup was going to smear off pictures would turn out bad that did not happen none of my makeup really smeared throughout the night this is an eyeliner you're going to want if you are cryer i'm going to quickly talk you through what i'm going to do before i do it because i cannot talk while doing my eyeliner but i'm applying just a regular line of liquid liner with a little bit of a cat eye at the end definitely upturned i think that is the key for me i don't like to go straight out with my eyeliner i like to go up a little bit to really open and lift the eyes and same when i apply my false lashes i like to trim them and make sure that they're definitely upturned at the ends instead of dragging my eye down at the bottom so like to be a little bit thicker in the inner corner on days like today when i'm going to be applying false lashes so that my lash band kind of blends a little bit more seamlessly and also if your inner corner lash comes up god forbid that you won't end up seeing it in your pictures like i saw it in my engagement pictures nightmare status i don't that happened to you and it didn't happen to me for my wedding pictures thank god because of a couple of tricks that i learned but nothing is worse than the inner corner of your lash showing in pictures oh i just hate it i hate it so a little bit thicker with the eyeliner will help alleviate that okay so that's probably as even as i'm going to be getting it today because i have limited space in front of me i actually have all of my makeup on a couple of stacked sterilite storage containers and it's a little wobbly so if my eyes are a little uneven i'm okay with it uh the day of i did redo the wing on my left eye like three times to match my right eye it looks perfect to look flawless make sure you spend time on your eyeliner on your wedding day i don't think i have to tell you that i'm sure you know but uh today things are a little less flawless another thing that i think will help the longevity of your eyeliner and also make your eyeliner look just a little bit more flawless when blended with your false lashes is going to be using some sort of like gel or cream liner on your tightline of your top lid i know it's not the most comfortable process it's not something that i do frequently because i'm quite lazy when it comes to this stuff but it ends up looking so much better and so much more real i guess you'd say when you have those false lashes blending in with your lashes you know there's always that like gap there's always a gap and this i think helps eliminate the gap so i go in with i think it's like the maybelline lasting drama gel liner and i'm also using this refer 29 brush any sort of like flat brush that you can easily kind of push along your lash line i think helps and i also like to kind of go over my liquid liner with this product i think it helps to mattify your eyeliner i think with a lot of liquid liners they don't dry down as mad as i would like they don't look as black and intense i think this helps a lot with that so i'm going to go ahead and do that but now that we're done with that step we can go ahead and apply our eyebrows now this is a step that you can obviously do after you apply your false lashes i find that it's easier to do ahead of time though simply because it gives my brow gel time to set down before i have the weight of my false lashes hitting up against my eyebrows and kind of messing things up so let's go ahead and knock those out first i am really really simple when it comes to my brows i'm not fussy i don't really care i feel like my brows are pretty dark as is and i don't want to add too much product to them so i just used this three dollar eye pencil from elf it's the instant brow pencil in dark brown and i just fill in my brows with this and then i go in with the anastasia clear brow gel i just recently picked this up right before my wedding i wanted something that was really going to again hold those eyebrow hairs in place and really make sure that whenever again my false eyelashes hit up against my eyebrows they aren't going to move and they aren't going to kind of fall down into my eyeshadow look if that makes sense i have pretty long eyebrow hairs and they don't like to stay in place so i think this really does a good job at making things stay and also not feeling or looking crusty which i think has happened before but i've used other clear brow gels in the past okay the brows are all done i feel like they look natural they're set in place and now i know that they definitely won't move whenever i apply my false lashes so the first step for me at least i know everybody has different opinions on this is to apply mascara to my lashes and also to curl my lashes before i do so i like doing this because i do feel like the lashes end up blending better when you have a little bit of mascara on them though i do use a mostly dried up mascara whenever i am doing this step i don't want my eyelashes to be too clumpy because obviously a fake lash is not gonna have any clumps to it so it's gonna look a little funky if your lashes are clumped and the fake lashes aren't and i personally don't like applying mascara after applying false lashes i don't think i don't think it's a recipe for success so applying a sort of dry mascara that i know is not going to clump up on me and then applying false lashes is definitely the way to go i'm also going to use some of this same dried out mascara on my bottom lash line i think again to balance out a false lash you're going to need a little bit of mascara on your bottom eyelashes mine are pretty long and have the tendency to look a little spidery so i don't really like a lot of mascara on my bottom eyelashes on a daily basis i like literally never apply mascara on here for a special event i know it's necessary so again using a dried out mascara i think can get you a balanced look without looking a little too crazy obviously something you might want to take into consideration when doing wedding makeup is what kind of mascara you're using and how much you're applying since i applied so little mascara i didn't really feel weird about not using a waterproof one this mascara this dried out mascara is lash paradise and it is not the waterproof version and i didn't have any experience with this smearing or running because again i didn't apply very much to my top lash line i didn't apply very much on the bottom your mileage might vary and it depends how much you cry i did cry but i didn't full-on sub so i think that definitely made the difference so i can't necessarily recommend to use a non-waterproof mascara but just letting you know that's kind of what i did now to one of the portions of my makeup that i hotly debated and tested out for the month leading up to my wedding should be the false lashes i had no idea what style i wanted to go with i had never really enjoyed the look of fake eyelashes on myself i felt like in pictures my eyes ended up looking a little bit too small and not as open and bright as i want them to be i have naturally pretty large eyes and i want them to look very open and bright but for my wedding i also wanted to look a little bit sultry so i had a hard time finding a style that i really wanted to stick with and a style that i thought would look really good with kind of the bridal look that i was going for but the ones that i ended up going with were ones that i initially did not think were going to fit the bill they are the house of lashes noir fairy light style they're quite short lash they're slightly flared on the ends and they're definitely very flattery um i'm going to cut i want to say like the last two little segments of lashes off of this lash band because i really don't like the end of an eyelash to hit at the very end of my eye i feel like if it hits at the very end of your eye it ends up bringing your eye down a little bit i'm not one of those people who thinks that you shouldn't apply your eyelash band close to your lash line to like fake a cat eye i don't think that i think it can look funky in pictures but i do think if you're wanting an eye opening effect you don't want your eye to be downturned you should cut a little bit off of your lash and also you don't want your lash to go entirely into your inner corner so finding that balance that like perfect length for you it's going to take some trial and error but for me i know for these cutting off about this much of the lash is going to be perfect okay now we're ready to apply the lashes and i think the biggest game changer for me when it came to keeping my inner corner down was the type of lash glue i was using and the color of lash glue i'm using i was using duo clear lash glue whenever i had that fiasco i think the issue there was that the lash didn't blend seamlessly into my eyeliner anyway and so it was gonna look a little funky even if the inner corner had stayed down and then when it did lift up it was just so obvious i don't know how i don't know how to put in towards how angry i am saying that because it's not something you can easily photoshop out right i know it's silly but it bugs me to this day i ended up picking up the house of lashes eyelash adhesive in the dark tone this is this is my everything i love this so much it ends up looking like eyeliner it blends flawlessly and i think this is especially good if you're someone who really likes ardell or kiss lashes that have that sort of like clear band i have found when i use a clear lash glue with a band like that it does not blend seamlessly into my eyeliner i can still see the clear parts of that lash band up against my eyelashes and i don't think it looks flawless using something like this using a dark tone lash glue is the key so i'm just going to apply a thin line of this to my lashes and then i'm going to put a very very minuscule amount on the i don't want to say inner corner of my lash but where i want the inner corner of my lash to sit i have to be very careful not to get any of the glue in my eyelashes i inevitably end up getting it there anyway but i think that makes all the difference having the glue on the lash and also on your lash line it's not moving it is not moving once you lay it down so i'm gonna go ahead and do that off camera and then i'll show you what these lashes look like on so lashes are successfully applied again i feel like these lashes both look sexy and also eye opening which is really what i wanted when i picked these out now one thing that i think can help these look as perfect as possible is to reapply some of your liquid eyeliner i find this happens whenever i apply false lashes but sometimes the angle at which the band sits can affect the way that your eyeliner looks when you're looking straight on sometimes it can look like the line is not perfectly flawless and i think just touching up in certain places can help it look as perfect as possible okay i don't know if that makes any difference on camera but in person it looks so much better also i feel like on camera my lashes are looking a little bit uneven and unmatched but in person they're looking pretty good i think maybe this one's a little bit higher up than this for today's purposes who cares we're almost done with the look uh the last step is applying lip color and i kept it really really simple i experimented with a ton of different lip colors i didn't know if i wanted to go dark for a while i thought i was going to go for something like red or maroon just something really really deep but i ended up going with kind of like a mid-tone pink instead i'm really happy with my choice it seems a little bit more classic and it feels a little bit more bridal so after much experimentation i went with a very like old school choice and format of lip color and it did end up staying all day which i was really happy with the less old school part of this lip combo is the dangerous dolly lip liner from buxom i feel like this was creamy enough to where it was easy to blend but it also stayed really well and then i used the revlon colorstay overtime lip color it's one of those liquid lips that they make you dry down first and then use a clear gloss over and even though it was incredibly windy for my outdoor ceremony nothing ended up smearing on my face once the gloss kind of sits down a little bit it just gives a beautiful sheen without being too sticky so i'm going to go ahead and apply this i really love how this lip liner 2 has a brush on the other side so you can easily blend in the lip liner so it's not so stark against your lip color as the instructions say for this product i would let it dry for i don't know 30 seconds or honestly as long as you can take the feeling of this drying down i really hate a traditional liquid lip but this one was comfortable and didn't get kind of like buttholy throughout the night which i appreciated i think the gloss was the key i think i reapplied the gloss it would have looked even better throughout the night as well but even without doing that i think it still looked pretty damn fantastic and i didn't have to worry about whether or not my lip color would come off on hayden throughout the night and that is it this is the final completed bridal makeup look this is the look that i wore on my wedding day i couldn't be more happy with how this turned out especially for pictures pictures that are going to hopefully last a lifetime the only other stuff that i did off-camera was applying the urban decay all-nighter setting spray definitely do this to kind of lock in your makeup it will help it last all night long but that is it that is all i have for you today i hope this was in some way helpful especially if you are a pill girl like myself i feel like it was so hard finding other pill girls doing their bridal makeup i know they exist out there but um there were just some tips and tricks that i wish i had known when i did my initial engagement pictures and um i definitely learned on my own for my wedding pictures but if y'all have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments down below and i'll do my best to answer them i appreciate your support in watching a video format that i definitely don't normally do but i love you all so much thanks so much for your patience and until next time\n"
