Which iPad is right for you in 2019 iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad Pro!

# Which iPad Is Right for You? A Comprehensive Guide

Apple recently surprised everyone by releasing two new iPads ahead of their March 25th event: the brand new **iPad Mini** and the **iPad Air**. With a full lineup of iPads to choose from, deciding which one is right for you can be overwhelming. Let’s break it down and help you find the perfect iPad based on your needs and budget.

---

## The Most Affordable Option: iPad 6th Generation

If you're looking for the most cost-effective iPad, the **iPad 6th generation** is your best bet. Priced at $329, this 9.7-inch tablet offers decent performance and a reasonable display size. It comes with 32GB of storage and runs on the A10 Fusion chip, providing smooth multitasking for everyday use.

However, it’s important to consider repair costs. The iPad 6th generation is the only model in the lineup without a fully laminated display. This means its display is built using a "sandwich-like" construction, which can make repairs more expensive. Despite this, if budget is your top priority, the $329 entry-level iPad still outperforms no-name Android tablets on the market.

## A Great Compromise: iPad Mini and iPad Air

Looking for a balance between features and pricing? The **iPad Mini** and **iPad Air** are excellent choices. Both devices feature the powerful **A12 Bionic processor**, offering significant performance improvements over the older A10 Fusion chip in the iPad 6th generation.

- **iPad Mini**: Weighing just 0.66 pounds, the iPad Mini is extremely lightweight and portable. Its 7.9-inch display makes it easy to carry around, fitting comfortably into one hand or even a back pocket. Despite its small size, it packs in decent performance and storage options, with configurations available up to 256GB. If portability is your top concern, the iPad Mini is worth considering.

- **iPad Air**: Slightly larger than the iPad Mini, the iPad Air boasts a 10.5-inch display, offering more screen real estate for those who need it. It’s also fully laminated, meaning the display looks sharper and is closer to the glass, making repairs cheaper compared to older models. Priced at $499, the iPad Air strikes a great balance between performance, features, and value.

## The Best Performance: iPad Pro

If you’re after the best performance and productivity, look no further than the **iPad Pro**. Available in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes, these devices are designed for power users.

- **Key Features**:

- Liquid Retina display with curved corners (though we wish it were OLED for better blacks).

- Face ID for secure authentication.

- Slimmer bezels and USB-C compatibility for charging and connecting peripherals.

- A12X Bionic chip for top-tier performance, making it capable of handling demanding tasks like multitasking or running two full-size apps side-by-side.

While the iPad Pro is a versatile device that can even replace your laptop, its lack of an OLED display is a minor downside. However, Apple fans holding out for this feature may not have to wait much longer—OLED displays are rumored to arrive in new iPads by fall 2023.

## Which iPad Should You Choose?

- **Budget-Friendly**: iPad 6th generation ($329).

- **Great Compromise**: iPad Mini (starting at $499) for portability or iPad Air (starting at $499) for a larger screen.

- **Best Performance**: iPad Pro (starting at $699 for the 11-inch model).

No matter your needs, Apple’s lineup has an iPad for everyone—whether you’re on a budget, need something portable, or want the best productivity tool available. Let us know in the comments which iPad you’re currently using or plan to buy!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enlet's check out the brand new iPad Mini and iPad air and see which iPad is right for you Apple surprised everyone by releasing two new iPad ahead of their March 25th event we now have a new iPad Mini and a new iPad air we're going to go through them as well the entire rest of the iPad lineup to help you decide which iPad is best for your requirements and your budget if you're looking for the most cost efficient iPad you're looking for the iPad 6 generation this nine point seven inch tablet will run you 329 dollars for a nine point seven inch display with 32 gigs of storage when looking at cost it's also important to look at the repair cost the iPad 6 generation is the only one in the entire lineup that doesn't have a fully laminated display that means the display is built upon a sandwich like makeup and it's going to cost a little bit more to repair then they'll name in the displays where everything comes apart together if cost really is your biggest hurdle then the sixth generation iPad is for sure your best bet has a nice little make up of performance while being relatively low cost 329 is still not a cheap amount of money but a $329 entry iPad is still going to be better than any no-name Android tablet that's out there on the market if you are looking for a great compromise between features and pricing you're probably looking at the new iPad Mini or the new iPad air both of these are great devices that one has a much smaller screen both have an a 12 Bionic processor banked inside to give you much better performance than the a10 fusion processor found on the iPad at sixth-generation so you can get much better performance there while having the newer devices they also have higher storage capacities going up to 256 gigs in those custom configurations so which one do you choose between the iPad Mini or the iPad air this is really comes down to portability and what you expect to do with a device the iPad Mini has an extremely tempting form factor with that small 7.9 inch display that below that 9.7 inch found on the sixth generation iPad and the below the 10.5 inch on the new iPad air that new form factor or that same form factor is very small can easily fit into one hand can fit into a lot of back pockets it's just really easy to carry around and it is extremely lightweight at only point six six pounds the iPad air we use a one pound and the sixth generation iPad means 1.03 pounds so if you're looking for the smallest most portable iPad that still balances features and performance with that price you want to check out the new iPad Mini otherwise if you want a little bit better screen little bigger display you should go for the new iPad air looking more specifically at the new iPad air we can see how tempting it is though it adds a point four inches to the width and to the height it has a much larger display than that of the iPad 6 generation going from the nine point seven to the ten point five it is also a fully laminated display which looks a lot better the actual images are closer to the screen itself when you're actually looking at them looks like you're more interacting with the actual content and it's gonna be cheaper to repair the new iPad air sits at a base price of $4.99 which falls above the iPad Mini but below the iPad pros plus veterans wanna fall in line with performance as well with at a 12 Bionic processor which is just below performance of the a 12 X Bionic processor that we see in the eleven and twelve point nine inch ipad pro's a couple other things you lose out on by going for the air is you only have two stereo speakers instead of the four provided by the iPad pros you also don't get the good screen the liquid Retina display as Apple calls it on the ipad pro's yeah that's slightly lower performance and the pile of other features that we see with the iPad pros so speaking of the iPad pros if you are looking for the best performance possible you're looking at the 11 inch or 12 point 9 inch iPad pro both of these things come with that liquid Retina display they come with face ID over touch ID they drop that home button they have slimmer bezels they've upgraded to USBC so you can use that to charge your Apple watch charge your phone when you're low on power using a USB see to an Apple watch the charging puck or USB see to lightning charging cable you can also use them to be a lot more productive because of that larger screen real estate you can fit much more onto one display including running two apps side-by-side you can actually run two full-size iPad apps side-by-side on an iPad pro so if you really want to get productivity stuff done working on multitasking when you use slide over you want to use picture your picture two apps at the same time you need the larger real estate of the 11 inch or the twelve point nine inch iPad pro they're also having that performance to go with it with that a 12 X Bionic processor the one thing that we wish we saw in the new iPad pros was an OLED display that liquid Retina display is amazing we love those curved corners rather than the squared off ones we see on all the other iPads and it really does a pop with colors but it's done I'll let those blacks are still aren't there in phileas more battery life so when we compare that to the screen that we see on the iPhone 10s and nioh and Ted s max it's not quite up to that same level but we could see OLED displays on new iPads as soon as this fall so if you're holding out for an iPad and you really wanna get an iPad pro you might want to wait until this fall for that refresh with hopefully OLED displays so where does that put us which iPad is going to be right for you if you want the most a budget-friendly option you go with a sixth generation iPad has a good sized display and some decent performance if you're looking for a good balance between performance and what you're spending look at the new iPad Mini or the new iPad air both of these have nice internals they've got 64 gigs of starting memory they have the updated a 12 Bionic processors for great performance and you just really have to decide which more in fact do you prefer the ten point five inch display of the air or the smaller 7.9 inch of the iPad Mini depending on your environment the choice could be very clear and if you're looking for the best the best the fastest most capable most productivity oriented iPad you look at the iPad pros either the 11 inch or the 12 point 9 inch the iPad pro is a very modular device it can kind of do whatever you need it to do it could replace your laptop if you really wanted to or it may just have to be a secondary device depending on what your purpose for the iPad is you now have more options than ever and a fuller lineup of features and performance and price to match really anyone's needs so do you have an iPad now which one is it let us know down below in the comments or if you want to
