Jeep has BIG plans to electrify its lineup!

jeep has already embraced hybrids and the results are pretty damn good the automaker is ready to add fully electric options as the future is unfolding with the big Eevee push for jeep to that end jeep has unveiled four new models ranging from a plug-in hybrid with good range figures to three new all-electric options that all look like fun and are still very much jeep machines let's start with the hybrid first jeep is going to offer a plug-in hybrid version of the wagoneer in grand wagoneer this is likely the same powertrain found in the current grand cherokee 4x8 hopefully it can deliver the same 25 miles of pure electric driving range despite powering a heavier vehicle compared to the grand cherokee the hybrid 4x8 models already on sale are pretty great so it makes sense for jeep to apply the formula to its more luxurious models as well

next jeep has a new model that will mark the first ever fully electric model offered from the brand no it's not the super cool magneto concept we've seen at easter safari events instead it's a new model called the 2023 jeep avenger foreign copyrights stop stop stop stop stop and it's not a model that's gonna be sold here in the us this one is smaller than the renegade at its bound for europe

this actually makes sense for jeep since a sub renegade model isn't aimed at our market plus jeep wants to have 100 of its european offerings as electric vehicles by 2030 so it needs to get cracking and the avenger kicks things off starting next year

as for models we are getting jeep showed off two pretty cool ones the first is a new member of the wagoneer lineup it's called the wagoneer s and it's a fully electric machine with a targeted driving range of 400 miles on a single charge that sounds great of course but what sounds more fun is the 600 horsepower output and a 0 to 60 mile per hour time of just three and a half seconds

it sounds like an electrified luxury trackhawk and that's something i can get behind the production version will be shown off next year and the wagoneer s will enter production in 2024

finally the next piece of the electric jeep puzzle is a new model called the jeep recon it's a battery electric jeep with true trail rated capability also jeep fans should appreciate that you can take the roof and the door is off too

jeep supplies the recon with the select terrain traction system e-lockers in the axles underbody protection off-road tires and more in fact part of the more is the uconnect outfitted with notable trails and detailed trail guides this is an ev that sounds like it's up for actual off-road adventure

this one is a global product and the production version will be shown off next year while it's slated to enter production in 2024 hand raisers on this one can start the reservation process in the early part of 2023

this slate of vehicles is part of jeep's expansion of its four by e group there's another all-electric model yet to be announced and it all adds up to helping jeep hit some ambitious goals namely the fact that jeep wants 50 percent of its u s sales to be fully electric by the year 2030
