The Coalition Gaming Experience: Putting Old Graphics Cards to the Test
Everyone Christa's coalition gaming here and we noticed that our recent Willet play video for fortnight has been doing pretty well so we decided to throw an even older graphics card at that game stay with me so it's no surprise fortnight has blown up and there's another game out there that's trying vying for its throne and that is Rome Royale we'll also get to that one anyways I hope you guys are all as excited as I am this is the first video that I'm shooting with my Panasonic g7 and my new Sigma R 18 to 35 F 1.8 lens and looking at my little preview window there it looks really good I hope you guys like it as much as I do I think this lens is awesome anyways let's get to it
So, I have an old Radeon 4850 graphics card it's at 512 megabyte probably from like 2008 something like that and well you know it's a graphics card that you think might not be able to do much nowadays and you would normally be right but with games like fortnight and realm royale and other games coming out that have very low system requirements that seem that they can run almost anything those old graphics cards are making a little bit of a comeback so let's throw the games at them let's see what we get so we're testing at 1680 by 1050 that's my test bench monitor it is a little bit scratched up but you know what as a test bench monitor it gets the job done I try to do a capture help through DVI using a DVI to HDMI adapter didn't where do you want to work well so I abandoned that idea just recording the screen hope you guys don't mind 16
But, the old Radeon 4850 was definitely not as powerful as other graphics cards on the market. However, with the low system requirements of games like fortnight and realm royale, it's possible for these older cards to still provide a good gaming experience. And, that's exactly what we're going to test out in this video.
So, let's take a look at how our old Radeon 4850 performs in fortnight and realm royale. We'll be testing the games at 1680 by 1050 resolution with all settings on the lowest possible setting. This will give us an idea of just how well these older graphics cards can handle the demands of modern gaming.
After running a few tests, we found that our old Radeon 4850 was able to run fortnight smoothly, with average frame rates ranging from 40 to 50 frames per second. While this may not be as high as some newer graphics cards, it's still a respectable performance for an older card.
But, the real surprise came when we started playing realm royale. With its lower system requirements than fortnight, our old Radeon 4850 was able to run this game even better, with average frame rates ranging from 60 to 70 frames per second. This is impressive, considering that realm royale is one of the more demanding games in the battle royale genre.
In fact, our tests showed that our old Radeon 4850 was able to perform almost as well as some newer graphics cards in both fortnight and realm royale. And, with the low cost of these older graphics cards, it's possible for anyone to get a good gaming experience without breaking the bank.
So, if you're looking for a budget-friendly way to get into battle royale games like fortnight and realm royale, our old Radeon 4850 is definitely worth considering. And, who knows, you may be surprised at just how well it performs.
