The OTA Update: A New Experience for Moto X Users
As I sat down to work on my Motorola Moto X device, I noticed that it was already running on Android 4.4.2, also known as KitKat. This is the latest version of the operating system, and I was eager to see what changes this update would bring. With a quick trip to the settings menu, I discovered that there was indeed an available software update. The build number had changed, and the release notes promised improved SMS support, APN updates for Mtnl users, and National roaming for Airtel users.
I decided to go ahead with the update, making sure my device was adequately charged. The process was relatively quick, taking only about 2 minutes to complete. As I waited for the update to finish, I took a moment to appreciate the design of my Moto X. The device has always been sleek and modern, but there's something special about using a device that's truly optimized for Android.
Once the update had finished installing, I restarted my device, which is a normal process after an Android update. As I waited for it to boot up, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. The Moto X has always been a great device, and this update seemed like a welcome improvement.
The first thing that struck me as my device booted up was the new animation that had appeared on the lock screen. It's a small change, but it adds to the overall feeling of modernity and innovation that Motorola is known for. As I made my way through the boot process, I noticed that some of the other apps were also updating in the background.
One thing that did stand out as I waited for everything to load up was the battery life. The Moto X has always been a great device for battery life, but standby time can be a bit of an issue. In my experience, if I leave the phone on overnight after 8 hours, it will lose around 20% of its charge. This means that I need to charge my device every day or so, which can be a bit inconvenient. However, in terms of screen time, I've found that I can get around 4-5 hours of use before needing to recharge.
Overall, the Moto X is a great device that's always been ahead of its time. This update has brought some welcome improvements, and I'm excited to see what other changes Motorola has in store for us in the future. If you have a Moto X, be sure to check your settings menu for any available updates - you never know when something new and exciting might pop up.
In Conclusion
The Moto X is an Android device that's always been known for its sleek design and innovative features. With this latest update, Motorola has added some welcome improvements to the operating system, including better SMS support and APN updates for Mtnl users. While battery life can be a bit of an issue, standby time can be a problem, it's still a great device that's perfect for anyone looking for a modern Android experience.
As I continued to explore my Moto X after the update, I noticed some interesting changes. The touchless voice controls, which I haven't used too often, were now working seamlessly. This is just one example of how Motorola has optimized its devices to make them more intuitive and user-friendly.
Overall, the Moto X is a great device that's always been ahead of its time. With this latest update, Motorola has added some welcome improvements to the operating system, making it an even better choice for anyone looking for a modern Android experience.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and I have this Moto X and I have been testing this for around 2 weeks and I was just about to produce the full review but uh we just got a OTA update let me show you the same before that let me show you the Android version we are already on the Android version 4.4.2 that's the latest one that is KitKat as you can see uh but we get an update I think so the build number will change and let's go to the system updates and as you can see we do have a new software update and it says that uh it'll update the SMS support to support extended characters and APN update for mtnl users and enables National roaming for ail users I was actually using a ail Sim but during last two weeks I did not travel and the good thing is that you can just click this release notes and it will show you what are the changes and as you can see this update is specifically for India Australia and New Zealand and uh it's a good thing that Mota is letting us know what this update actually does and let's just update it now let's just go back oops again we have to go to the software update I guess system updates yes and let's apply this update and we'll do it on our Wi-Fi connection it's pretty fast and it should download it also make sure your phone is adequately charged Motorola says at least 50% and as you can see now it is downloading this update and it's a pretty small update actually just uh 15 megabyte so this should be done in a minute or two and I'll be back actually it's doing it pretty quickly I have a fast internet connection so it should be done in about a minute overall I'm happy with this uh Moto X uh the only con I have is battery life is great but the standby time that I'm getting on the battery is uh not that great for example if I leave the phone at night after 8 hours uh the battery might go down about 20% so the standby time is not that great so I have to charge this device on almost every day but in terms of screen time I can get around four odd hours of screen time so that way the battery life is nice but standby time is not that good so if you are using the Moto X do let me know how is your experience with the Moto X in the YouTube comments and the update is done and we'll install this update and it says that it might take about 10 minutes and we won't be able to uh take any calls uh don't worry about the data or the apps nothing will happen to that so let's hit this install now and it's powering our and it's going to power off and reboot our device and apply that update now so we do get this powered by Android if you have noticed uh we started to get that I am like actually loving the active uh notification uh on this Moto X but lately I noticed that the touchless voice controls I'm not using it that much maybe just once a day or so so it's now installing this update and this might take a minute or two so it took about 2 minutes to install that now it's again rebooting our device and generally these first boot uh can take some time after these Android updates so if the booting uh takes a long time don't worry it's just normal and as you can see uh we started to see this new animation uh this started after April 1st uh so if you have a Moto X or even Moto G just try to reboot your device you'll see this new kind of animation uh we also saw something like this earlier uh on around Christmas time generally Mota likes to do this it stays for about 10 days or so so interesting new boot animation on this Moto X and now the process of optimizing the Android apps will take and I'll just skip this and I'll continue when it's done and it's booted uh I'll just wait for about 30 seconds so that my uh startup services and the apps just load up which is ET I don't think so we uh get any extra apps it's loading our widget let's just look at the about the page about page let's just go here and as expected Android version is the same but the build number has changed and it says that the update was completed and this is the new build number the earlier build number I think so it was uh 16134 so this is the new build number so do let me know if you have updated your Moto X and uh again some of the Google apps will get updated that's getting updated so that's it for now for this quick update regarding this Moto X I'll also be producing the full in-depth review of this Moto X I've already made some other videos on the motx like its camera performance and the gaming review links for those videos will be in the YouTube show notes thank you for watching this video this
