In a recent interview, Tim Cook shared his positive and optimistic view of artificial intelligence (AI). He expressed confidence that AI will be made accessible to everyone, emphasizing that the only limitation is one's imagination. When asked what makes Apple’s intelligence different, Cook explained that it revolves around personal context and privacy. Apple’s AI understands and is relevant to the individual user, combining world knowledge with private data. This integration of personal context ensures that Apple’s intelligent systems are tailored to meet the unique needs of each user. Privacy, a core value at Apple, is central to this approach, making Apple’s intelligence both unique and trusted.

Cook also discussed his daily use of Apple products, including his iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Pro 13 Edge, MacBook Air, and AirPods. He highlighted how these devices integrate seamlessly into his routine, whether it’s capturing spatial video for the Vision Pro or simply enjoying the convenience of AirPods. The conversation also touched on the importance of user experience, with Cook mentioning how his Apple Watch recently nudged him to stand, a feature that combines health insights with everyday convenience.

The discussion concluded with reflections on recent keynote events and the potential of AI in future products. Cook reiterated Apple’s commitment to innovation while staying true to its principles of privacy and user-centric design.

In summary, this conversation offers a glimpse into Tim Cook’s perspective on technology, AI, and the role of personal context in shaping the future of computing.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- I have a very positiveand optimistic view of AI.I think we will bring AI to everyone. You're only gated by your imagination.- What makes Apple intelligence different?- It's different in that...- Tim, firstly, great tofinally see you in person.Usually when I see you at an Apple event, there's like a hundred peoplewaiting to take a picture.(Tim laughs)So, I've never actually had a chanceto come over and say hello. So, it's finally goodto meet you in person.- It's great to meet you as well.I'm glad you came out today.- Yeah, good to be here as always. You know, I'm from the UKso the weather isn't asalways nice as it is here.- It's beautiful.- So it's great to be here.First question I need to ask, this is something I need to know. What is your currentiPhone that you're using?- I'm using the 15 Pro Max.- Pro Max.- And I love it.- Yeah.- It's attached to me. It's right here.- (laughs)It's always with you.- Right, always with me, and I love it.And I'm doing spatial videoand capturing spatial videofor watching on the Vision Pro.- Amazing.- And so that's, you know, one of the great thingsabout being able to do that.- Perfect, and what aboutyour iPad and MacBook?- I'm using the iPad Pro 13 Edge.- Okay.- And I use the MacBook Air.- Okay, MacBook Air.- I use the MacBook Pro sometimes, depending upon what I'm doing. So I use both, but I use the Air more.- All right.- And of course, I use our AirPods.- Oh, yes.- I could not live aday without the AirPods.- Yeah.- So I, you know, I used Vision Pro.I was just screening one ofthe shows that are coming outand I used the Vision Pro.And so I was lying on my sofawith the the screen-- On the ceiling.- On the ceiling. It's so great to do that.- Nice.Nice.Well, now everybody knowsTim's daily drivers,as we say, in the tech world.(Tim laughs)- Of course, I got my watch on.- I've got Apple Watch alsoso you can see a snap there.- Yes, yes.- So there, yeah. You've got, I mean, yeah,it's always interestingto know what the choices arebecause there are so manyoptions of, obviously, soto see which ones are your personal go-tosis always fun to find out.- Yeah, I love to try everything.- Yeah, I can imagine.I mean, it's-- It's a perk of the job.- It's a push up, I'm sure. Now with the keynote-- Yeah.- There was a lot to cover. And I was just telling you right nowthat my Apple Watch wastelling me to stand, so.(Tim laughs)I obviously want to focuson Apple intelligencebecause AI has been a wordthat's been thrown around a lot recently. What makes Apple intelligence different?- It's different in thatwe have personal context. And so Apple intelligence understands youand is relevant to you. It's not only worldknowledge, it's also private. As you know, we've hada longstanding beliefthat privacy is a basic human right. And so it's very private. And so between havingpersonal context and privacy, this makes it very unique. And it's also integrated into the appsthat you're already using. And so you don't have to think about,\"Well, I want to use intelligenceand go to another app.\"It's embedded in notes, embedded in mail, embedded in messages, embedded in pages and keynote. It's all over the place. In essence, the writing tools, which you saw in the keynote,is everywhere there's a blinking cursor. And so it's that profound.- Yeah. Now speaking of writing tools,I think that was probablyone of my highlights, which I can see myself using all the time. You know, emails, having to gothrough emails all the time, having suggestions, beingable to summarize things. You know, like that's somethingthat really appeals to me.I was like thinking about my nieces.I'm like, they will usethings very differently. So they'll be using Genmoji.- Yes.- And different things like that. How about yourself? What top three features can you seeyourself using every day?- I'm already using all of them-- Okay.- To be honest with you. It's sort of like our products.I'm testing out all of them.I find that I do a lot of writing.- Okay.- A lot of email. You know, Apple's system of communicatingis primarily email, and soI get a lot of incoming. And I love the ability to change it up,to get something moreprofessional or more playfulor friendlier. And so I think that's a big idea.Genmoji, it's interesting.A lot of us communicate with Emoji, but we only use a very few ofthem at the end of the day.- Yeah.- Because there's a finite catalogand we begin to curatethat catalog to just a few.Well, Genmoji allows you tocreate anything you want.- Yeah.- They're custom. And so you're only gatedby your imagination.I think people are going to love that.- Yeah.- And I think ImagePlayground is also profoundbecause you can do thingsfrom your photo libraryand do something very playful.Or if you're writing something,we're all visual people, you may want to put in an imageand it knows what you're writing about. So it can come up with a pertinent imagethat's appropriate for your writing. And so all of these are big.I also, like probably you,I get a lot of notificationsand this sort of thing. And so having the phoneor the Mac or the iPadsummarize these for me andprioritize them is big.- Yeah.- Instead of going down whatis an extraordinary list.- Scroll it through here.- Yeah, exactly. So there's so many. And the fact that I don'thave to think about using it,it's there, is big.- Yeah.- And so I think we willbring AI to everyone.- To everyone.AI is something that a lotof people kind of have a bit of a fear of.We've seen the \"Terminator\".Some people are nervous and apprehensive, understandably, about AI.What do you, what do you say to them?- Well, the ways that we'redeploying it is very thoughtful, first of all, and sowe have spent the timeand done what we think is doing it right.I think that AI done theway that we're doing itreally helps you.It really acts as an assistant to you.It makes your writing better,it makes you communicatecrisper, it makes you funnierwith Genmoji, et cetera. And so I have a very positiveand optimistic view of AI.And I know there's lots ofthings to think about it.I don't have my head in the sand. But the ways we're deployingit, we've been very thoughtful.- Tim, thank you so much.- All right.- I've actually got you a little somethingthat I have to give allmy guests on the channel.- Oh, thank you.- These are my official sunglasses. You were probably thinking,\"Why is he wearing sunglasses?\"So these are my official sunglasses. They're not advanced likethe Vision Pro, of course.But-- I love it.- They'll be helpful in the sun here.- Yeah, thank you.- You're welcome.- I could have used it this morning.- Yeah.(both laughing)Well, for the next one.- Thank you.- Thank you so much, Tim.- Great to see you.- Appreciate it. Thank you, cheers.\n"
