Adam Savage's Show and Tell with Maker Cabinet
As Adam Savage began his show and tell, he greeted his audience with a warm hello from his cave. He was excited to share the latest gift from his friends at Maker Cabinet, a company known for their beautifully designed and intricately crafted products. The first item on display was the Feral Pencil Holder, a brass and stainless steel extender that allows users to hold 7-8 millimeter diameter pencils in high-quality pens.
The Feral pencil holder is made from solid brass and features a simple yet elegant design. It includes three HB and three 2B incense cedar pencils made in Japan, which Adam noted were of the highest quality. The pencil holder is held together by a clever mechanism that requires users to turn it 120 degrees to close or open it. When closed, the pencil is held firmly without marking it, making it an ideal tool for artists and writers.
As Adam continued his show and tell, he revealed that Maker Cabinet's products are designed with inspiration from various sources, including Lego instructions, Popular Mechanics, and mid-century graphics. The company's love for fonts and typography is evident in their designs, which have earned them a reputation as font nerds. This attention to detail has resulted in beautifully crafted tools that elevate the humble pencil to the level of a pen.
One of the most exciting features of the Feral pencil holder is its eraser attachment. Adam demonstrated how easily the eraser can be installed and removed, making it a convenient tool for any user. The pencil holder also includes a brass holder that elevates the pencil to a high-quality writing experience.
As if the Feral pencil holder wasn't impressive enough, Maker Cabinet sent Adam a prototype of their newest creation, Laszlo. This heavy brass pen is hand-machined with single-point threads and features a beautiful natural finish. Adam was thrilled to receive this prototype and couldn't wait to take it apart and examine its intricate mechanics.
Laszlo is a testament to the company's commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The pen's design is both functional and visually striking, making it a true masterpiece of modern engineering. Adam was grateful to have the opportunity to work with this prototype and couldn't wait to share his thoughts on its capabilities.
The gift from Maker Cabinet didn't end there. Along with the Feral pencil holder and Laszlo prototype, Adam received a letter expressing hopes for his well-being and a warm thank you for joining him in sharing his love of making and inventing. The letter included a finished version of the Feral pencil holder, which Adam noted was an added bonus.
Adam's show and tell with Maker Cabinet was a resounding success, showcasing the company's dedication to creating beautifully crafted tools that inspire creativity and innovation. From the Feral pencil holder to Laszlo, each item on display demonstrated the company's commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Adam Savage is thrilled to have been a part of this experience and looks forward to sharing more of his adventures with Maker Cabinet in the future.
Temporary Tattoos of Adam's Measuring Stick
As a bonus for his audience, Adam revealed that he had designed temporary tattoos of his measuring stick, which can now be purchased at Tested Store.com. The tattoos are made from high-quality ink and can be applied to any surface using a little water and rubbing alcohol. They come with instructions on the back of the packaging and can be easily removed without leaving any residue.
Adam joked that he had initially planned to permanently attach his measuring stick to his forearm, but this temporary tattoo solution seemed like a more reasonable compromise. With these tattoos, Adam's audience can now share their love for measuring and precision with their friends and family. Whether you're an artist, writer, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of measurement, these temporary tattoos are a fun way to show off your personality.
Adam's Show and Tell was filled with excitement and inspiration, showcasing the possibilities that emerge when creativity meets craftsmanship. From the beautifully designed Feral pencil holder to the temporary tattoos of his measuring stick, each item on display demonstrated Adam's passion for making and sharing his love of innovation with others.
