Give $1, Remove 1 pound of trash from the ocean #TEAMSEAS

The State of Our Oceans: An Emergency Call to Action

I'm coming at you today with an emergency video because our oceans and our waterways are in big trouble. It's estimated that there's already 200 million tons of plastic circulating in our marine environment, with an additional 11 million tons more being added every year. This is a health crisis for our entire planet, not only for the animals but for us humans and the water we drink and the seafood that we eat.

Rivers: The Unseen Threat to Our Oceans

You see rivers contribute about 20% of the pollution that makes its way to the ocean. They're like an artery, taking pollution from one place inland and moving it out to the ocean. But thanks to real conservation efforts, my hometown river has made a comeback. It's cleaner than it's been in decades, and fish populations are back on the rise. The river is now cutting off pollution from making its way into the Atlantic Ocean. As these environments improve, they have programs in place to monitor these environments.

Monitoring and Cleanup Efforts

Coincidentally, after filming this video, I saw that in action right outside my apartment in the Hudson River. These organizations are really great and effective at figuring out solutions. They just need one thing: money. And if money is what they need, money is what they're gonna get.

A Glimpse into Successful Conservation Efforts

Last week, two of YouTube's largest and most reputable creators, MrBeast and Mark Robert, reached out to creators across the platform asking for our help. To understand how serious these guys are, let's go back to Team Trees, where they were on a mission to plant 20 million trees. They were able to do it in no time, and it's so effective that even today, 2600 trees are planted every day. This proves how impactful videos like ours can be in making real change that lasts.

Making a Difference Through YouTube

Most of the videos you see on YouTube will be related to this cause alone. If you want to learn more about how this thing is going down and how trash is going to get removed, I'll leave a link down to Mark Robert's video. We'll be working with some of the most trusted non-profit cleanup organizations in the entire planet to ensure that every one dollar we donate results in one pound of trash being removed from beaches rivers and oceans all across the world.

A Call to Action: Let's Make a Difference

Such an ambitious goal of 30 million pounds of trash is going to require a lot of help. I'm going to start off by donating $1,000 to Team Seas to clean up 1,000 pounds of trash, which is about the equivalent of a small dumpster being removed from the ocean. Imagine this video gets 100,000 views and half the people who watch it give one dollar - that's 50,000 pounds of stupid trash that we're removing from our beautiful waterways and oceans.

Making a Difference in Ourselves

Everyone watching this hit the like button. By doing so, you're helping to clean up the ocean. Share this video around if you can donate just one dollar and get one pound of trash out of the ocean. If not, share it around anyway, because together we can make a difference. Let's spend more money on cleaning up our oceans and making them beautiful again.
