WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthey're rare extremely desirable and even though they look slow they're always surprisingly fast they are the hidden gems of the automotive world this week I'm covering the ten bestest sleeper cars you can buy before this Lotus Carlton showed up in the UK in the early 90s party poopers wanted the car banned claiming it was an outrageous invitation for speed luckily those guys weren't invited and the party went on leaving plenty of room for the whole family to enjoy it's absurdly satisfying 377 horsepower and 419 pound-feet of torque the carlton tops out at 180 miles an hour and does 0 to 100 in 11 seconds that's faster than a Ferrari Testarossa and it does 30 to 70 miles per hour faster than a Lamborghini Countach it's yet another sleeper with GM roots in the fastest production sedan of its time this w210 mercedes-benz C 55 AMG was a mass-produced quality sleeper and unlike the first two cars can easily be found for under $10,000 and by the way those engines they can run forever and if you want to weigh out your options before buying one you can watch my under 10k tuners car lists usually everyone talks about the Porsche built 500 E as the ultimate sleeper but this one's faster and it's just a slow looking zero to 60 in as low as 4.9 seconds a 5.4 liter v8 and transmission fluid that Mercedes used to claim never needed to be changed and you might even be able to sell its original wheels for more than the cars worth this 2017 Chevy SS looks like your average rental car but it's so much more it's a rebadged Holden VF Commodore made in Australia it's Australian and bred to race in the nation's most popular motorsport v8 supercars the VF Commodore took home the championship every year entered and led Jamie Whincup to an incredible 92 podium finishes although those race cars don't have much in common with their production brethren the Chevy SS does come stock with some pretty sweet suspension called magnetic ride control which offers a huge range between comfort and sportiness perfect for working it's 6.2 liter Corvette engine through its six-speed gearbox the SS also comes packed with a ton of high-tech stuff like automatic parking a heads-up display and a bunch of other stuff you only really need if you're drunk or trying to impress your mother-in-law anyway that's enough sedan for now so let's mix it up a bit the Omni GLH is a tiny little car from the mid 80s that was one of the fastest production cars around when it came out it weighs less it has about the same power as a brand-new Mazda Miata and that was back in 1985 it goes like hell and that's exactly what the name stands for it goes like hell GLH Carol Shelby wanted to take the plug ugliest little box that Chrysler made and turn it into a supercar killer sold at a price that anyone could afford the limited production glhs got even more power it got 175 horsepower good for zero to 50 in less than 5.7 seconds it's fast even by today's standards it just looks like a little box but on the inside it's a flaming hot little box that's ready to up any leather Italian boot within smelling distance you can thank Carol Shelby for that one the Audi RS 2 Avant doesn't really look fast by any means well other than that sweet taillight strip that looks like a Porsche but under the hood it's all business and combine that with one of the most proper all-wheel drive systems and you got yourself a sweet om sleeper and the cool thing is we can start importing this car into the States next year and you can find out about more of those cars by watching this video I made it's turbocharged 2.2 liter engine good for 315 horsepower and it can do 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 163 miles an hour it was co-developed with Porsche so they sprinkled little 993 generation Porsche 911 parts all over the car its turn signals fog lights wheels and exterior mirrors were all transferred over directly from the 911 and you would never know unless well you know no it's a tasteful sleeper and I would totally own one GMC syclone and the GMC Typhoon our brothers from the same mother who was pumping out sleepers like nobody's business in the early 90s they both came with the same liquid-cooled turbocharged 4.3 liter v6 that was good for around 300 horsepower they both came with four-wheel drive with power distributed 65% to the rear and 35% to the front limited-slip included the cyclone was a few hundred pounds lighter than the typhoon so the cyclone was always the more popular child that doesn't mean the typhoon is it fast in fact it's more of a sleeper in that respect but the cyclone 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds is enough to take on a lot of supercars from that era it puts the power down incredibly well and when you're at a stoplight it'll probably smoke anyone you're next to before you even hit the speed limit the Nissan Juke R is super fast super rare and pretty damn inconspicuous to say the least given it can do 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds yeah it's small yeah it's light which means it's probably a pretty good track car but it looks like a top-heavy hamster with a mouthful of mini burritos ie the Perfect Sleeper I would probably throw up all over myself if one of these cars passed me at attractive then I'd start questioning my life and probably put my car up for adoption the juke-r comes with the same engine used in the GTR yep that GTR in order to deal with that power it gets stiffer suspension fender flares 20-inch dubs so that anyone up for a challenge at a red light gets a subtle hint at what's to come but few of us will ever have to deal with that sort of embarrassment because the Juke R is pretty rare and only produce in a few handfuls it's the modern-day equivalent of that omni glhs and unless this next car makes it into production it won't have much competition in its class ok I know we said cars you can buy and this Pujo 308 r hybrid isn't out yet and we don't really know if it's ever gonna be released but this car is too amazing not to talk about plus if you're really rich and know the right people I'm pretty sure you're gonna be able to buy that concept car if you really want it just saying it's like the cubic zirconia of sleepers I'm wishing for this Pujo 308 R to make it into production and if it does make it into production I'm really hoping they're gonna bring it to the States it gets power from three sources two electric motors one in the front one in the and a 1.6 liter engine that puts out more power than any other engine of its size its four-wheel drive system means you can put all that power down and if you think about it it's basically an OEM rally car it has different modes that adjust the power output for daily driving versus competition driving and it gets great gas mileage what else could you possibly want in a hot hatchback it's the future and fingers crossed it comes with all 500 horsepower last but not least the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee track Hawk is one of the fastest SUVs around and it's not even considered to be part of the uber Lux SUV crab but how fast is it I don't know how is it how about zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds that's because it makes 707 horsepower from a 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat Hemi v8 so the sound of this thing rolling up next to you on the street is a bit of a giveaway but it definitely doesn't give away it's incredible quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds in a car that looks its own weight which is over 5,000 pounds it will even put up a good fight against a Lamborghini kudos which is only 0.1 second slower 260 miles an hour but it's not a Lamborghini it's a Jeep and that's why it's one of the coolest sleepers you can buy if you have 90 grand laying around that's my list and I hope you liked it if
