**Room Setup and Camera Discussion**
We're here in this room, and as you can see, it's set up with various equipment and artifacts on display. The camera being used is an Eva model, which shoots at 60 frames per second, but we've been wondering if the 33 version or the 24p setting would give us better detail in the image. We conducted a test between 24p and 60i (which is equivalent to 30p when importing into a timeline) to compare their effects.
In the bathroom test that we just saw, it became clear that the 60i frame rate was not being used effectively by our subject, Ibrahim, who had been shooting in the wrong frame rate this entire time. To rectify this, I handed over the camera to him and demonstrated how to shoot in proper frame rates. The result was noticeable, as if he could "feel" the difference once he began using the correct setting.
**Camera Settings and Importing Footage**
We discussed Ibrahim's experience with importing footage into Premiere Pro and slowing it down to 50% to make it slower and more manageable for editing. He mentioned that sometimes, when running out of time or needing to complete a voiceover quickly, this trick works well. However, he also noted that 60i doesn't actually give us 60 frames per second; instead, it provides a 30p output with additional interlaced frames in between. This difference was not immediately noticeable during playback, but Ibrahim did mention some concerns about detail and sharpness in certain scenes.
**Excitement for Upcoming Filming**
I'm excited to start filming with the new camera, which has opened my eyes to its full potential. With this improved understanding of the camera's capabilities, I'm eager to explore new creative possibilities and take advantage of the increased detail we're able to achieve. The little tripod legs that are holding up the camera as it records me now are a testament to our attention to detail in setting up for each shot.
**Detour: Exploring Taipei**
As we head out, I have a detour planned at the Samsung store, which had Legos on display when we visited earlier. The store's interior is impressive, with large windows and plenty of natural light. We spotted greenery outside, including big trees and lush green buildings, making for a picturesque scene. The park where we're standing now features no benches; instead, people are simply minding their own business and enjoying the surroundings.
**Shopping and SIM Cards**
We decided to take a short walk to the SIM card shop to purchase our necessary cards. As it turned out, buying two SIM cards was actually cheaper than purchasing one individually. After getting our SIM cards, we returned to the hotel room to check in with Eber.
**Eber's Room and Taipei City View**
As I entered Eber's room, I couldn't help but be drawn to the stunning view of Taipei 101 outside his window. Although he doesn't have access to the balcony, the panoramic vista is breathtaking. It was a perfect ending to our exploration of Taipei, as we reflected on the highlights of our first day in the city and looked forward to what the next day would bring.
**Conclusion: First Day in Taipei**
Our first day in Taipei was filled with excitement and adventure. We explored the city's streets, walked over 10,000 steps, and took in the urban landscape from various angles. The current rush hour traffic provided a dramatic backdrop to our evening stroll. As we wrapped up this segment of our vlog, we couldn't wait to see what the next day would bring for Eber and our audience.
