Google Assistant 2.0 - Faster, smarter

Google Assistant is Getting Smarter and More Personal

Google Assistant is getting smarter and more personal, with new features that make it even more convenient to use. One of the coolest things about Google Assistant is its ability to offer directions and recipes tailored specifically for you. For example, if you ask Google "show me recipes for dinner," it will show you a list of options based on your personal preferences. If you've made barbecue before, it will suggest bourbon chicken as an option. Google uses voice match to make these recommendations, so if someone else asks the same questions, they'll get different results based on their own preferences.

Google Assistant also recognizes your voice and uses that information to provide personalized recommendations. For example, if you ask "hey Google what's the weather like at Mom's house this weekend," it will pull up information for your mom from your address book. You can even tell Google who your relatives are and organize information about them using the Google Home and Google Assistant apps.

In addition to personalization, Google Assistant has a new driving mode that you can activate with your voice or with a tap. This mode pulls up the most relevant information you'll need while driving, such as navigating somewhere, talking to someone on the phone, or listening to music or podcasts. It will even suggest things based on your listening history and play music from any of the apps that Google Assistant can sync to. Once you get going, it will keep that information at the bottom of the screen while showing the driving directions front and center.

Google Maps will also be integrated with this new driving mode, and Waze integration is coming soon. This means that when you ask Google for directions, it will provide personalized recommendations based on your calendar, missed calls, and listening history. The tech won't actually roll out to customers until later this summer, but it's sure to be a game-changer.

The biggest change to Google Assistant, however, is its speed. According to Google, the next generation of Google assistant is 10 times faster than the current gen. This is due to streamlining the process so that it can all fit on your phone. When you ask a question, it no longer has to go up to the cloud to get the answer and come back down. It just knows what you said and can pop out a response right there.

This new speed is thanks to Google's focus on making the assistant more convenient and easier to use. You'll be able to easily change your privacy settings to opt out of features if you don't like them, and you'll be able to go back and delete your activity history at any time. The result will be a digital assistant that knows even more about you and your family than before, but also one that is faster and more convenient to use.

Google started showing off the next generation of Google Assistant with demos of its new features. For example, it showed how you can ask "hey Google open calendar" or "show me John Legend on Twitter." These are just a few examples of what's possible with this new assistant, but they give you an idea of just how powerful and convenient it will be. Overall, Google Assistant is getting smarter and more personal, and it's sure to change the way we interact with technology in our daily lives.
