£300 Gaming PC Build August_September 2015 [1080P 60FPS!]

Building a 300-Pound Gaming PC: A Comprehensive Guide for August and September 2015

As we dive into the world of gaming PCs, it's essential to understand that building one can be an overwhelming experience, especially when it comes to choosing the right components. In this article, we'll explore the details of a 300-pound gaming PC build that is capable of handling the latest Triple-A titles at 720 and 1080p with smooth performance.

The CPU: AMD Athlon X4 86

The brain of our gaming PC is the AMD Athlon X4 86, a quad-core processor that boasts a clock speed of 3.7 GHz. This processor is overclockable, which means we can push its performance even further. While it may get a bit hot, the heat is not excessive compared to other CPUs in the market.

The Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A68H-DS3H

When it comes to selecting a motherboard, we need one that offers solid features at an affordable price. The Gigabyte GA-F2A68H-DS3H checks all our boxes, offering FM 2+ USB 3.0 PCIE 3.0 and more. This motherboard provides excellent value for its price of £33, making it a great choice for our build.

The RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue

For our RAM, we've chosen the Kingston HyperX Fury Blue, an 8GB kit of DDR3 memory with a clock speed of 1866 MHz and a standard frequency of 1600 MHz. This is an excellent choice for our build, offering great value for its price of £35.

The Storage: Hard Drive

While SSDs offer faster storage options, they come at a premium price. For this build, we've opted for a hard drive, specifically a 1TB Seagate BarraCuda hard drive with a 7200 RPM and a three-and-a-half-inch form factor. While boot times may be slightly slower compared to an SSD, the hard drive provides ample storage space for our games and other files.

The Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti

When it comes to graphics cards, we need one that can handle demanding titles without breaking the bank. The MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti is a great choice, offering two gigabytes of GDDR5 memory and a Maxwell-based GPU. This card edges out AMD's new R7 360 in most scenarios, making it an excellent option for our build.

The Case: Thermaltake Versa H12

Our case for this build is the Thermaltake Versa H12, a solid choice that offers ample airflow and cable management options. The ATX mid tower design makes it easy to upgrade and maintain, while its price of £25 provides excellent value.

The Power Supply: EVGA 430 GS, 80+ Gold

Finally, we need a power supply that can handle our components without overheating or underperforming. The EVGA 430 GS is an excellent choice, offering a 430W capacity with an 80+ Gold certification. This power supply provides plenty of headroom for future upgrades and is priced at £30.

Conclusion

In conclusion, building a gaming PC that meets our budget and performance requirements requires careful consideration of each component. By choosing the right CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, graphics card, case, and power supply, we've created a 300-pound gaming PC that's capable of handling demanding titles with ease. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just starting out, this build provides an excellent foundation for your gaming needs.
