Hey what's up guys David here and I'm know you're probably wondering what happened to my Mustang and no i didn't sell it like a lot of people think exactly what happened was this guy on the ProCharger went out this is the ProCharger tensioner essentially that keeps the belt in lines the belt started wearing unevenly and that's when we found out that well at any moment the belt could probably come off and my day would be ruined we got a new tensioner from pro charger and a new belt by the way no big deal obviously but also mr. George GMG definitely check it out and also I'm going to be at another event called Auto con on July 8th in New York City so definitely go there as well I'll put the link in the description and I'll see you guys next time
The ProCharger tensioner is a crucial component of the ProCharger supercharger system, responsible for maintaining the proper belt tension to ensure smooth operation. However, as David discovered, the tensioner can become worn out over time, leading to uneven wear on the belt and potentially catastrophic consequences if not addressed promptly. In this case, David opted to replace both the old and new tensioners with a fresh set from ProCharger, ensuring his Mustang's supercharger system would function reliably.
The importance of proper maintenance and monitoring cannot be overstated when it comes to high-performance systems like ProCharger. As George emphasized during the repair process, it's essential to perform regular checks and adjustments to prevent issues down the line. The tensioner itself requires attention every time the car is serviced or driven, as small discrepancies can quickly escalate into more significant problems if left unaddressed. With his extensive experience in tuning and repairing supercharged engines, David understands the significance of diligence when it comes to these complex systems.
When tackling a repair like this one, finding the correct replacement parts and tools is often just as crucial as performing the actual work itself. For instance, George had to track down the specific C-clamps needed for the job, which proved to be the most time-consuming part of the process. Having access to the right materials can make all the difference between success and failure in a project like this.
Now that the new tensioner is installed, David is looking forward to enjoying his Mustang's improved performance without worrying about the reliability of its supercharger system. With regular maintenance and adjustments scheduled in, he should be able to enjoy his car for many more miles to come.
As we move forward with our discussion on ProCharger maintenance, it's worth noting that proper oil quality is essential when working with these high-performance engines. According to Porter Joe, a key supplier of ProCharger kits, the correct oil specifically designed for use with ProChargers provides superior lubrication and protection against wear and tear. Using subpar or incompatible oils can result in premature component failure or reduced performance.
With Smurf back on the road, David is itching to try out his newly upgraded Mustang. He has plans to take it for a quick spin and assess its performance before making any further adjustments. The engine purrs smoothly, responding instantly to every shift of the pedal – an unmistakable testament to the effectiveness of the ProCharger system.
As we wrap up our look at this repair, it's clear that attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential when working with high-performance systems like ProCharger. By following proper procedures and staying on top of maintenance, drivers can enjoy their supercharged engines for years to come without worrying about reliability issues.
In the next installment of our series, we'll be delving into more advanced topics in tuning and performance modification. From upgrading exhaust systems to fine-tuning engine settings, we'll explore it all with expert insights from industry professionals like George at GMG. Stay tuned!

George GMG and then there Steven if you look really closely definitely wearing unevenly and that is no good so if I'm throttling and this is kidding pretty much all over the place that's bad news so that's where we're gonna place this guy adjust the tension by the way yeah the lock on the back of it so first step release the tension we hear the most annoying sound in the world I wish I got your face on camera the first time around you're like nails or the freaking jaws elbow chat board so now I can take this thing mr. George has been gone at a pretty insane journey with mr. Federico how's the season been going good when I first met him we had a lot of issues with the car that we had to get sorted out and I think now that we got a solid set of axes on it the car is gonna perform really well there is a season oh yeah yes reporter you didn't have spare axles no no we didn't have these fractures are actually getting some made very soon the guy that does all the stuff for us is going to be making us another set of axles this has to come all the way up all right all right all right though the c-clip might be damaged and that might be the root of everything so we started squeeze it together a little more now I'm gonna try to squeeze it to get it I can bend it a little bit more it seemed to hold it like that hey you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world trick My Kitchen two belts to take titchener off that way is that all over the place Jesus Christ all right like that well it's off voila you see any damage sir hard to tell is probably all internal yeah yeah en see how uneven the where is the film attention hairline cracks but nothing terrible see clip that holds the you say the main tension or bracket mounting position this is what adjusts the tension or up or down the problem is whenever you go to adjust it up he doesn't work and you can see right here it's a little bit it's lost its tensile strength to keep squeezed I guess you could call it on the the nutsert whatever you want to call it so now we have an assorted kit and we're gonna fix that put it all back together and send it so essentially what happened was is this was you know by David being a tightened this a little too tight on this guy in this flex invent which caused a whole bunch of problem with the tensioning of the belts now with the new tensioner that's gonna go on with our brand new spanking belt too which is great now we have a new seat clamp that's gonna work but we had to go to three different stores to find there's no stupid things because that's what working on cars is and now problem solved now we're gonna put the new tensioner on get it bolted up make sure everything's aligned right we're probably going to Lube a couple different things put some anti-seize and some of these threads that are kind of dry and then should be good to go it's a little bit anti-seize this is a pretty dry threads we're gonna go and leave these up make sure they're good to go we put it back together a lot of people that don't do this they'll pull something apart and never even check the threads this is important if this fails you have to buy a new one how hard is it to clean it and put it back together it's already out so the last time we worked on Smurf was actually here on the Watsa link which is the crazy suspension thanks if you want to see that video up here but I wanted to do a review of the Watts link to see if it was worth it or not and everybody in the comments is like dude where's the watts leak review because you just you know spend all that time installing it with mr. George and we were really proud of that install and then the tensioner went on the ProCharger which means I couldn't accelerate hard which means I couldn't use the suspension to full advantage which means I couldn't make a video about it and then I felt really bad and I had to keep explaining the people that get fortunately I can't do the Watts like review cuz I can't drive Smurfs hard and then that's just pointless instead of coasting around corners ol time going yeah it works really well basically by doing this it'll improve the car better maintenance and I can do more stuff with it also I'm actually gonna probably change the axle back exhaust on this car because the header system on this combined with the ProCharger it has resonators and a high flow cat it doesn't matter it is the loudest startup of all time and I feel so bad for my neighbors and I'm not saying that like in a jokingly way so I'm probably gonna switch that up soon for the next video with Smurf and we'll do compare and contrast and I've had this axle-back on Smurfs since 2012 so it'll be the end of an era you think we're at the right kitchen we're gonna go for a quick little test drive and if it isn't the right engine we're gonna make sure to adjust it but we should be good but I'm gonna knock on everything to make sure are you happy baby I think I don't fastest car is dude holy we were roasting up the hill in second the whole way yeah well I had to go and counter steer a little bit I was like don't you live and you're scary it's crazy because like my 240 it's pretty wild but like just having that instant response of a blower with a v8 is just like it's wild yeah quick recap to fill in oil and a pro charger first you need the specific oil per charger gives you this is the specific oil the Porter Joe gives you and then all you have to do is take a flathead pull this guy out there's a drain plug that goes from the bottom of the pro charger it's a braided line that goes through down here and then comes out around her so essentially what George suggested and that's what we're going to do is we're going to flush the blower out of any of the bad oil because I've done about three changes on this so we're gonna sacrifice a little bit of new oil to flush out everything until it gets cleaned up so basically take the bottle and then you put it through the top and that's it and George is taking a look down there to see what it cleans up I'm only wearing this blog because the prose writer is so hot in case I have to touch the cap again alright George so doing the tensioner how hard of a job do you think it was still level one to five probably about three I think it's just more of a pain yeah then bad because we had to find the C clamps that was actually the longest part of the tape was finding the C clamp once we found the C clamp it was all good putting together a tensioner assembly again that was a little weird I think the dangerous thing is is that the tensioner that was already on there from an appearance standpoint what's fine it was all internal you lost a lot of its yeah I just couldn't do it and also if you have a pro charger kit make sure to go out and do a pull with nobody watching you know but do a pull see if you feel any belt slip come back adjust the tension come back do it again my issue was is that I might have tightened it a little too tight and then it just lost its rigidity over time and by doing that it started belt slipping and with the belt flipping that ruined the tensioner because it was confused essentially so it was going all over the place to the point that when I start at the car you saw the whole pulley go yeah like that's not good very successful day good job George make sure to check out George at a bunch of events with mr. Federico and his shop GMG definitely check it out and also I'm going to be at another event called Auto con on July 8th in New York City so definitely go there as well I'll put the link in the description and I'll see you guys next time and Smurf is back thank you god hey you want clean wheels hey use this spray on let's sit for 45 seconds and turn purple berry again with water clean wheels make sure to check out www.hsn.com made by car dudes for car dudes\n"
