Ryzen 5 5600X Vs. Ryzen 5 3600... Stuck between a Rock and a Hard Place

**A Personal Review of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X**

As I sit here writing this review, I have to admit that I'm not exactly thrilled about sharing my thoughts on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. I didn't get to spend too much time with the 10th generation Ryzen processor, and unfortunately, it wasn't one of my favorite CPUs. In fact, I was rather blunt in my initial assessment of the 10600K, which shares some similarities with the 5600X.

As it turns out, AMD has since released several updates to their brand lineup, including the Zen 3 architecture that powers the 5th generation Ryzen series. For those who may be new to this channel, I'll briefly mention my thoughts on the brand names – honestly, they don't matter much to me. What's important is what these CPUs can do and how well they perform in various workloads.

When it comes to the Ryzen 5 5600X itself, it's a CPU that will undoubtedly get the job done. With its six cores and twelve threads, it's perfect for those who want a balance between performance and power efficiency. However, I have to admit that with all the additional features and technologies that have come along with newer CPUs, my personal preference is to go for higher core counts or wait for future updates.

Personally, I've always been a patient dude when it comes to technology. As a kid, I remember waiting for my mom to pick me up from school – she'd finish work around 5:30 PM, and we'd head home together. My classmates would often get picked up later, even an hour or more after the initial pickup time, and they'd be frustrated about it. But not me – I was just chillin', waiting for my mom to arrive.

That's why I've always valued patience as a virtue, especially when it comes to making informed purchasing decisions. And that's exactly what this review is all about: sharing my thoughts on the Ryzen 5 5600X and providing you with an honest assessment of its performance.

As I mentioned earlier, one of the main reasons I'm not fond of the 10600K (which shares some similarities with the 5600X) is that it was just too... safe. It lacked the punch and excitement that comes with newer CPUs, and for me, that's what makes technology worth getting excited about.

Now, when it comes to using a CPU like the Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel's 10400K, I've found that your money is indeed better off saved. The numbers don't lie – these CPUs will handle most tasks with ease and provide excellent performance for gaming and other workloads.

So, what do you guys think? Do you agree with my assessment of the Ryzen 5 5600X, or do you have a different opinion on this CPU? Let's discuss in the comments section below!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enHere i've got a hair light guys, you wantto make videos you need a hair lighti got one right here i've also got a5600Xfrom AMD. Their latest Ryzen 5, which isthe cpu that's being toutedas the one that's going to give you theraw fps the value for money, fps king from AMD Zen 3.it's also got that new ipc as wellmatching that of the 5800x and the 5900x, but i feel today where this cpu rightherei just feel like it's stuck in between arock and a hard place now i know it'sprobably going to be an unpopularopinion, but growing up i was never the popularkid anywayso i guess there's that probably becausei had unpopular opinionsbut the cpu right here at 299 dollarsit's going to get youthose high gaming performance scoresright if you couple with an rtx 3080or an rtx 3090 or even amd's upcoming6800 xtit's going to be a nice cpu and the onethat we had here overclocked to 4.6gigahertzstable and when i was testing the gamesout it did a good job nowthe other cpus that i've had comethrough here the ryzen 9s and also theryzen 7 5800xthey went to 4.7GHz all cores inthe case of the 5800x that went to4.75 gigahertz or course so i think the5800x does have the best piece ofsilicone for gettinga all-core overclock which will help youin gaming a lot especially if you'reutilizing all the cores and all threadsbut i can't help but think that this cpuright herethis is where we're going to go into theother factors where we'll get throughthe 1080pgaming numbers here where i'll includethe overclocks and even though the cpuwent up to 4.7 gigahertz it didcrash out in the games and it was verybizarre because it passed all theproductivity numbers absolutely fine at4.7 gigahertz but then when i got intothe gaming numbers it just startedrandomly crashing outin certain parts of the game and i waslike okay i guess this can't really holda stable 4.7so i feel like the 5600x you're going tonot get as good as a piece of silicon asyou arewith the 5800x even though that's 150morei'm gonna be sort of weighing up whyi'm not too blown away by the 5600xand the first reason is is because therewill be a 5600 comingi know that and at this point in timeyou have to go out and get a b550 forthe cpuand the b450s won't get the bios updatestill januaryso if you're looking for that budgetplay where when the 3600 came out forexample that came out with a real hardhitting price 6 cores 12 threads camewith the race stealth as wellbut you could couple that with an a320motherboard or a b450 motherboardand you were having really good valuefor money as well as overclocking somebudget 3200 megahertz memorynow of course there are cheaper b550motherboards but they're still moreexpensive in general than a b450and on top of that the overclocking onthe cheaper boards is not really thereand if you're going to use a racestealth with a 5600 xit's kind of like i don't see the pointhonestly you can go out and get a 3600and a cheaper b450 and you're going tobe getting much better value for moneyand we'll pull up the geekbench multiscores and also we'll go through theproductivity scoresbecause they are impressive especiallyfor a six core you're getting goodperformanceand if you want to overclock it to 4.6gigahertz you're going to be gettingreally good performance on that floor aswell but if we look at the value formoney out of the six cores even justobjectivelyon this six core versus the previousgeneration six core and also intel's 10400 fwe see here that the value for moneyproposition does start to erode away alittle bitand now for me personally in 2020 sixcore 12 threads does represent a sweetspotfor value and so if you're going to goand get one of these cpus and say couplewith a high-end gputhis is the next point that me as aperson who sells gaming pcs and parttakes in the marketquite a bit i wouldn't personally gowith a 6 core 12 thread and a high endgpu and the reason for that beingis the resale value is just not thereand trust me i've tried reselling a 6core 12 threadan i5 or a ryzen 5 with a high-end gpuand pretty much there's been no interestfor it everyone wantsa ryzen 7 or an i7 and if you've got aryzen 9 or 99 in therething moves like quicker than you canimagine not gonnaput the i'm not gonna put the terms thati would usually uh tell my matesin this review but it just moves prettyslowly put it that wayand so your resale value with thiswith the high-end gpu of course it'sjust not going to be there and then ifyou're on a budgetthis is the thing people like you shouldcheck out the ryzen 5 5600x for budgetusersif you're on the budget you should gowith the ryzen 5 3600so that's where the title comes fromstuck between a rock and a hard placewith this cpu i'd personally if i hadthe extra funds i'd go out and get anice motherboard nice cooling solutionand go for the ryzen 7 5800x that's justmy personal opinionsi've never held back and you probablymay be wondering the next question iswell what about the 10600k dude you tooka look at thatand you reviewed that and the truththere is i actually didn'tuh take a look at the 10 600k i think iincluded some benchmarks in the 10900kreviewbut i was personally not keen on the10600k and i told people that as wellso you can go back through my channelwhere i was actually probably one of thefew guys who didn't like the 10600kso nothing's changed nothing's changedfrom amd to intelthe brand names they it really doesn'tmatter to me guys with the brand namessowhat you're getting here with the 5600xis a cpu that will do the jobbut i feel like with all theaugmented factors at play all the extrasall the little grittiesthat come along with the six core i'dpersonally go for the higher core countsat this point in time or wait for theryzen 5 5600and the b450 updates to drop whereyou're going to be saving moneyon the latest zen 3 cpus when that comesout or you're going to be umsaving money on a b450 motherboard orbothand at the moment for me personally it'sa patience play and i'veas an individual i'm a pretty patientdude uh when i was a kid i remember i'dgo to schooland my mom would pick me up this is likewhen i was eight or nine years oldmom would pick me up from school becauseshe finished work at like 5 30 my oldman was working as welluh till pretty late and so i get pickedup at school like5 30 or something pm and you know allthe other kids would leave and i'd alsosee some of the kids that would getpicked up30 minutes late even sometimes an hourand they would be livid they were soimpatient and i was just sitting therelike yo like what can you do about thesituation right that's just lifeso i guess when i was a younger ayounger lad i learned to bepatient and patience is a virtueespeciallyif you want to make the best decisionsor the best purchasing decisionsthen patience can really pay off and sothat's wheremy review of the 5600x comes into playand as i said in the intro probably nota popular opinionbut i've never held back here on thechannelwith my opinions on products and when ireview themwhat's the take but basically if youwantto get a taste of zen 3 ipcand you want to get into overclockinghave a lot of funsee what amd has to offer especially ifyou've gotum a cpu that's a few years old andyou've got a four core and an eightthread cpuand it does you absolutely fine forgames and you're like okay well i coulduse two more cores four more threadsand all i do is game and i want the bestfps possibleand you're willing to go out and get thehigh-end graphics card this is gonnaserve you greatanother thing is too as we look at the4k numbers if we look at the 4k gamingnumbersyour money's uh better off saved andgoing with even the ryzen 5 3600 or the10400f again sothe numbers are all there but in termsof the recommendations and the opinionsi guess that's just my two cents on the5600x anyways if you guys enjoyedtoday's videoof the five 5600 x be sure to hit thatlike button for usalso let us know in the comment sectionbelow what's your thoughts and opinionson this cpu right here do you havediffering thoughts and opinions to me ordo you think i've hit the nail on thehead it's always good i lovea good conversation in the commentssection below just like this commentright here it's actually not a questionof the day butit's from mike dg and they say straightto the point as it should beand this has actually been a focus ofmine with product reviews latelyyou guys have certainly been loving thejust get straight into the detailshit it to you guys so you can make aninformed decision and for me personallythere isso many new products just coming out andthey just keep coming through here andi'm like welli honestly have to make them a lotfaster otherwise i'm just
