Google Pixel 7 Pro vs. iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. Galaxy Fold 4 Speed Test

The last time we saw the iPhone 14 pro Max in a speed test it lost its title of speed test champ to the Galaxy fold 4. But its loss felt mostly like an optimization issue, so with the release of iOS 16.1 it's time for a rematch where the iPhone is not only going up against the Galaxy this time but also facing off against the Pixel 7 Pro which taking a quick look at the spec sheets is powered by Google's all-new tensor G2 chip. The iPhone of course is powered by the industry-leading a16 bionic while the fold 4 has Qualcomm's newest chip in the Snapdragon 8 plus.

Will the iPhone be able to reclaim that title of thumb of style speed test champ or will one of the two Android phones prevail? Let's find out, right we'll kick things off like we always do starting the stopwatches on each phone and then jumping into the first row where right off the bat the fold 4 gets the step over the other two with the iPhone right there behind it and the Pixel 7 Pro falling into third through Microsoft Suite. The fold 4 is able to hold on to its lead but the iPhone is hot on his heels as all three phones move on to the second row so it's still pretty close but we'll see if one of these devices can create some separation here in Snapseed where all three are editing and exporting the same exact photo. It looks like the fold was fastest once again moving on to the video editing portion of the test where we'll get to see some of the raw power from each device's chipsets.

With its early lead the fold is able to export 30 of the video before the iPhone even starts but that didn't matter with the iPhone just ripping it through the video exports faster than I think we've ever seen it do before. The Pixel on the other hand is clearly struggling with it being the slowest of the bunch at exporting the video causing it to follow a full two apps behind the iPhone I don't know if there's enough time for the pixel to make a comeback here in the first lap since it has dug itself into quite a bit of a hole but the Galaxy is still right there in this thing with it joining the iPhone and loading up fit the fats while the Pixel has moved on to the gaming row.

Unfortunately it was significantly slower in loading up Subway Surfers and it looks like it's the same story here in flip diving with the pixel just taking a full beat longer to load up these games meanwhile the Galaxy is inching closer to the iPhone with the two phones almost neck and neck as they work on loading forward assault but the iPhone is able to hold on to its lead finishing up first and moving on to the bottom row where just like last time the Galaxy stutters a bit in Spotify allowing the iPhone to add onto a sleeve.

With it now having just two more apps to go in this first lap and it finishes Disney plus pretty quickly and just breezes through Amazon clocking in a time of 1 minute and 59 seconds the Galaxy is not too far behind it completing the first stop five seconds later with a time of 2 minutes and 4 seconds while the Pixel is still working on it which honestly comes out as a surprise since last year the Pixel 6 Pro was able to keep up with the iPhone but this year it's a different story.

The Pixel takes 21 seconds longer to finish the first lap clocking in a time of 2 minutes and 20 seconds but shifting our attention back to the iPhone it was in these last few apps where last time it gave up its lead with it not being able to keep all the apps open but with the new updates this time it does keeping both Excel and Word open allowing it to cruise to the finish line completing the test in an impressive 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

The Galaxy fold 4 is next up behind it where with 12 gigabytes Ram keeping all the apps open was never really in question with it completing the test with a time of 2 minutes and 53 seconds. And you know while the Pixel did fare better in the second lap keeping all the apps ready to go due to its lackluster performance in the first lap it completes the entire test in a rather unimpressive three minutes and 10 seconds making the winner and the new fumble style speed test champ the iPhone 14 pro Max.
