Apple Watch Series 4 - Should You Upgrade

**Deciding Whether to Upgrade Your Apple Watch**

People often find themselves at a crossroads when it comes to deciding whether to upgrade their Apple watch. Normally, people fall into one of three camps: they may not have an Apple watch yet, they've been waiting for one, or they already have an Apple watch but are unsure if it's worth upgrading.

**The Waiters: When You're Ready to Take the Plunge**

For those who haven't taken the plunge and purchased an Apple watch just yet, there's never been a better time. The early reviews of the new series 4 have been super promising, and it seems like Apple has really nailed it with the latest hardware. The features are more impressive than ever, including streaming back physical haptic feedback and digital crown that larger edge-to-edge display. If you're okay with the price jump, now is the perfect time to get an Apple watch. However, if you're still hesitant due to the cost, there's always the option of purchasing a used or refurbished series 3 at a reduced rate.

**The Early Models: Why Upgrade Now?**

For those who already have an older Apple watch model, such as the series 0, series 1, or series 2, it's still relatively easy to decide whether to upgrade. The truth is that these earlier models were plagued by issues, including speed and compatibility problems with Watch OS 5. However, Apple seems to have finally figured out what the Apple watch is best at – health and information. With the release of Watch OS 5, the series 4 doubles down on both of these aspects with new features such as a larger edge-to-edge display that looks great without drastically increasing the size of the case. This new design allows for more information to be shared, including photos that look better than ever before and complications that can display a lot more information.

**The Series 3 Debaters: Is it Worth the Upgrade?**

For those who already have an Apple watch series 3, last year's model, they may be wondering whether it's worth spending the extra money on the new series 4. The answer is yes – the series 4 is a huge upgrade over any of its predecessors. If you're looking at selling your series 3 in the future, it still holds its value very well and is a very capable watch with features like swim workouts, waterproofing, and cellular connectivity. However, if you don't care about the larger display that's new to the series 4, then there's no compelling reason to upgrade from the series 3.

**The Verdict: When to Upgrade Your Apple Watch**

Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to upgrade your Apple watch depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you haven't taken the plunge yet, now is a great time to get an Apple watch with the latest features and design. If you already have an older model, it's worth considering upgrading for the new features and improved performance. And if you're still using a series 3, ask yourself whether the larger display is worth the extra cost. With the release of Watch OS 5 and the improvements to health features, there's never been a better time to upgrade your Apple watch.
