'Your Channel Has Been Suspended' - What We Know

**YouTube's Latest Controversy: Channel Disabling and Meta Tagging**

YouTubers around the world are scratching their heads, wondering why their channels have been disabled without any explanation. The issue started suddenly, with many popular YouTubers waking up to find that their accounts had been suspended or deleted, along with all of their videos.

At first, it seemed like a simple case of mass channel disabling, but as more information came to light, it became clear that something more complex was at play. It appears that YouTube's algorithm has been triggered by what is known as "meta tagging," which involves stuffing video descriptions with extra tags in an attempt to boost search engine optimization.

However, this tactic is against YouTube's terms of service, and many creators are now facing the consequences. The issue started when YouTube introduced a new update to its guidelines, which specifically prohibits using multiple keywords in the same description section. It seems that some channels had been experimenting with this tactic in the past, but it was never explicitly banned.

Despite the fact that meta tagging has always been against the rules, many creators are now feeling unfairly targeted by YouTube's latest crackdown. Channels like yamy, who have been affected by the issue, claim that they have only done this once or twice as an experiment, and not repeatedly as they had assumed. It's a case of "one mistake" versus "consistent offender," and it's sparking debate among the YouTube community.

**The Impact on Creators**

For many YouTubers, this issue is more than just a minor inconvenience - it's a significant blow to their livelihoods. With thousands of videos to review, it's impossible for anyone to manually check each description for meta tagging. The lack of transparency and communication from YouTube is also causing frustration among creators.

Some users have even tried contacting Google directly, only to receive automated responses that suggest there is no issue with their channels. It's a clear example of the "system glitch" excuse, where an error is blamed on the user rather than being acknowledged as a mistake by the platform itself.

**A Lesson in Caution**

This incident serves as a reminder for YouTubers to always follow YouTube's guidelines and avoid using tactics that could be misinterpreted or exploited by the algorithm. While meta tagging may seem like a harmless way to boost views, it's clearly against the rules - and getting caught can have serious consequences.

In the meantime, creators are left to deal with the fallout of this incident, trying to understand what went wrong and how to move forward. As one user put it, "just keep calm and wait for Monday" - when it's hoped that the issue will be resolved and channels will be restored.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys what's up how's it going my name is evil Vox and I wanted to make just a short quick and sweet Vlog to talk to you all about the issues that gaming channels have been having on YouTube there's been a quite a few examples of things going horribly wrong for some YouTubers and I just kind of want to address what we know so far about what's going on and what appears to be the main cause now I want to before we get into it just formally State and disclaim there's obviously been no official word from YouTube they're not too keen on telling us what's going on when massive just screw-ups happen until way after the fact but and this is most likely or at least we desperately hope it's a temporary system just kind of glitch or bug or something kind of like with the content ID system where it was just you know somebody flipped a switch on a new way of their system going out and it just hurt a bunch of channels really really quick and then they're going to go back and fix it it sucks that we have to deal with that especially when some really big channels have been taken down and these are some people's full-time jobs but hopefully it's just a temporary thing but again we don't really know until we find out from Google so we will see getting right into it basically quite a few and it appears to be limited to gaming channels I have not heard of an example of a non-gaming channel being affected by this yet which is extremely disappointing cuz that means that they're potentially targeting just gaming channels which is never good um but basically a lot of channels have been terminated or well the weird part about this is that they're being it it's very inconsistent when it says it says your account has been suspended in the email that people get but then if you go to their page it says their account has been permanently banned and then in some other instances it just says terminated so a lot of channels have been disabled due to what they're claiming are violating the terms of service the terms of use the community guidelines things like that just a lot of things that content producers know nothing about having had done and just completely disabled their channels and they disabled their YouTube accounts to the point where you can't make new channels obviously but you can't even watch YouTube videos while logged in and in a lot of cases if you just go to YouTube you have to log in now so a lot of people are having to make new accounts just to watch videos I'm sorry but no matter what you do to game the system and put your video out there you shouldn't be disabled from watching videos that's just kind of absurd anyway so what appears to be the cause of this and again we have no official word we have no way of truly knowing until hopefully Monday when they get things sorted out and hopefully fix the thing and reinstate people's channels but it appears to be metat tagging which caused this it you know they threw around a lot of just general Community guidelines terms of service terms of use blah blah blah but the only consistent descriptive Factor seems to be um misleading tags and for the most part nobody just puts like big boobs or something in the tag section so we don't really think that it's just tags in video just you know just tags in the tag section just the wrong game and I honestly I I I would not support the idea that YouTube even has a system in place to determine what game you're playing playing and then tell oh you put Black Ops 2 in your Minecraft video no they're not going to know the difference a person does not look at your videos which is part of the problem but that also means that just putting the wrong game in your description is not going to affect anything what appears to be the cause is what's called meta tagging which is basically putting a big old wall of text of extra tags just a pure like straight paragraph of just like Minecraft Minecraft games Survival Games Hunger Games blah blah blah Captain spar cers just filling the entire bottom of your description with extra tags this is cheating the system because it basically boosts your search engine op optimization by repeating the keyword in multiple sections and you know having more keywords there it's against the terms of use which is apparently a more recent update because it wasn't always against the terms of use as far as most of us no that appears to be what causes it now a lot of people are then taking the The Stance of okay well good on them then they finally cracking down on something that's been against the rules except most of the channels that be are being affected by this aren't the channels that just do that in every single video and just Spam extra tags in their descriptions they're channels that have done it like once or twice as an experimentation back when it probably wasn't against the rules back when it was just a thing to experiment with and they're being punished for it and that's not really fair and channels like um yamy who haven't like you know they're like me in that as far as we know we may have done it like once way back in the day but we're not repeat offenders we're not chronic spammers and when you have thousands of videos like I have about 1,300 videos private or not on my EOS Fox channel probably at least 500 to th000 on my old channel that that's a lot of videos we can't just sit there and go through every single description and hope to find one that happened to have tag spam that's not really how it works logistically that just can't work out so we don't entirely know why it's happening again it's most likely just a system just a switch got flipped on accident and a bunch of channels got disabled and they'll fix it we don't really know though um and a couple users have actually contacted Google and been like yo what's up what did I do why is my channel disabled and of course they're getting automatic system replies nobody's actually reading it nothing comes across anybody's desk but they're getting replies suggesting that there's no reason they can't log into their account and giving them options to you know like if you forgot your password go here if you forgot your username go here which almost suggests that their channels aren't at all supposed to be disabled it's almost as if their channels aren't really disabled in YouTube's eyes and again this just automated system just took down a bunch of stuff that it didn't need to take down so lesson from this video guys keep calm stay cool your channel should be restored this upcoming week if not then it's time to make a big deal but your Channel's most likely going to be restored this upcoming week your favorite YouTuber channels are going to be restored in this upcoming week and it probably has no major implications for the future other than you should avoid metat tagging cuz it's against the rules anyway I posted a full article updating just and I'm keeping it updated with everything about this on my website you can check out in the link in the description below as well as a video from the guy or die addressing this issue and yam's videos and tweets and things like that hope you did enjoy I hope this helps out some of you all understand what's going on and I will talk to you guys later bye-bye hopefully my channel does not get to Saed before Monday then they come back and fix the issues again check out my post in the description below see youhey guys what's up how's it going my name is evil Vox and I wanted to make just a
