NFC on iPhone 5 - Where is It

The iPhone 5 Release Date and NFC: A Debate

Unfortunately, I have to wait until May to get my hands on the new iPhone 5. I checked with AT&T last night over at apple.com, but they only have a little checkmark checking thing. I also tried texting them a special number, but unfortunately, I'm not eligible for the early release date. The current price of the iPhone 5 is already over $400, which is too expensive for me.

As someone who loves Apple and the iPhone, it's disappointing to see that they missed out on NFC technology in the iPhone 5. Johnny asked a great question: "Do you think Apple was wrong to miss out on NFC or do you think it won't take off so they won't add it to any other devices?" The answer is complex.

In my opinion, the whole NFC concept is very cool. Imagine being able to swipe your receipt at Wawa and making a purchase with just a tap of your phone. It's fascinating, but it's not something that most people are aware of yet. In fact, when I asked a family member or friend if they would like NFC in their phone, they looked at me like I was crazy. The average person doesn't know what NFC is, which is part of the problem.

That being said, Apple has been very successful with other innovative technologies, such as FaceTime and app development. They've made things standard that many people take for granted, but NFC technology has not yet reached that level of widespread adoption. Android phones do already support NFC, however, and some devices have similar functionality.

If Apple were to introduce NFC in future iPhone models, it's likely that it would become very popular. The company is known for pushing the envelope with new technologies, and NFC is no exception. However, until Apple decides to make a move on NFC, it remains a feature that is not yet widely adopted.

Design Like Apple: A Book Review

Today's free audiobook is "Design like Apple: Seven Principles for Creating Insanely Great Products, Services, and Experiences" by Jeffrey Johnson. Normally costing $20.99, this book is available for free to Audible members. I had to check again because I forgot that it was included with my subscription. The book is a great resource for anyone looking to learn about Apple's design philosophy and how to apply those principles to their own work.

The audiobook is narrated by the author himself, Jeffrey Johnson, who shares his insights and experiences working at Apple. From understanding customer needs to creating user-friendly products, Johnson covers it all in this comprehensive guide. The book is full of practical advice and examples that can be applied to any field or industry.

I'm grateful to Audible for making this audiobook available for free. It's a great resource that I'll definitely be using again in the future. If you're an Apple fan or simply interested in design philosophy, "Design like Apple" is a must-listen.

and he did indeed include his Twitter and website links which are right below so thank you for the following questions Johnny Johnny says well there are two questions number one are you considering upgrading early or waiting until you until your normal upgrade date he's talking about the aone 5 by the way um unfortunately I have to wait until May I check with AT&T L night over at apple.com iPhone and they have a little check checking thing you can also text them a special number unfortunately I'm not eligible to like May 8th or something but if I do buy now it's going to cost like over $400 I love Apple I love the iPhone but I'm sorry I'm not going to spend over $400 on the iPhone plus everything I had to spend on the contract from here on out but I will most most likely be buying myself an iPod touch next month when it releases because I just want to experience that 4-in display and the 720p FaceTime camera and all the new stuff they added that the iPhone 5 has but I can't experience on the iPhone 4S all right so question number two and that's what this video is about I really want to focus on this for a couple minutes Johnny says do you think Apple was wrong to miss out on NFC or do you think it won't take off so they won't add it to any other devices this is an excellent question been seeing debates on Facebook Twitter and YouTube basically all those popular social networks of why Apple missed the ball or missed the ball dropped the ball or whatever that saying is regarding NFC now I will say this the whole NFC Concept in my opinion is very cool I mean imagine going to Wawa buying a coffee swipe receipt done that's pretty damn cool if you think about it I mean Bam Bam Bam and you're out I think that's fascinating will it catch on as of right now no it's just the average person doesn't know what NFC is after this video sometime today go to a family member or a friend and say would you like NFC in your phone and they'll probably be like what the hell are you talking about seriously the average person does not know what NFC is now that's part of the problem if a popular company such as Apple really pushed NFC with the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5 5S whatever the next iPhone is going to be called then yes it's pretty much guaranteed to become popular look at the iPhone in general the iPhone has catched on so much in terms of app development you can get exclusive playlists or whatever in Starbucks you have cars made with iPod functionality built in so what I'm trying to say here is Apple's really pushing the envelope in terms of making things standard while NFC is not standard right now apple is probably one of the very few companies or maybe the only company that could really make NFC a standard for our everyday use for you know just going out swiping her phones and buying stuff now yes I do realize Android phones do already support NFC I believe my Nexus 7 which is a great tablet by the way I was a little overboard in saying all Android tablets suck so I do take that back most of them do suck that I don't take back but the Nexus 7 is great but I think the Nexus 7 has something like NFC or some kind of near field communications similar device uh functionality whatever you want to call it I'm really not sure um but you get my point right now NFC is not going to catch on but if Apple does ever introduce NFC in the iPhone which I don't think they will then yes it will become very popular so thank you for the excellent questions Johnny I'm actually really glad you asked it because yesterday I totally
