Hey Guys, ChrisFix Here, and Today We're Heading to the Pocono Mountains with the DriftStang, My Drift Build.
We are going out there to Stacked Motorsports Festival. It's a three-day automotive event and I am doing subscriber ride-alongs. Yes, that is right. Subscribers, you guys, could jump shotgun in my car, and we're going around the track drifting. Now, all you need to do is give a small donation to charity, and you get right in that passenger seat. Every penny of that donation is going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It's a great charity to help children out who are sick, all the money's going to it. It's not going to my tires, not going to gas, I'm taking care of all that stuff. And the charity itself is a really good charity, all the money that we'll donate is actually gonna go to the kids. It's gonna help them get better.
I'll talk more about the cause a little later in the video. But right now, I got to be completely honest, I am a little nervous because drifting is really hard on vehicles. This DriftStang is gonna be pushed to the limits. This build, everything we've done so far is gonna be pushed to the limits. We're gonna do ride-along after a ride-along after ride-along. I don't know how many fans are gonna come out, I did post up on Instagram. You guys said you wanted to come out, so, I'm hoping we get a bunch of people, raise a ton of money, and I'm hoping we won't break, but we'll find out. So enough talking, I got everything packed up. Tires for days, tools, Everything I could think of, and we're gonna head out to the track, and go for some ride-alongs! These fan reactions should be great!
OK, so we made it and are all set up at the track for three days of drifting. And already we have subscribers signing up to get in the drift car for a ride-along. So let's get this party started! So here's today's course, and it's a skid pad which means it's a large open lot. This course could be run in two different directions. Today, we're running it counterclockwise, so we're going in this direction. And then later on in the event, they'll switch it around, change things up, and we'll run it clockwise. But in either direction, the most important thing is we don't hit the curb in the middle. There's a small slot that we could slide through. Miss that slot, right there in the green, and chances are you're gonna wreck your car. But we're not going to do that. We're going to hit all the right lines and we're going to have a blast, so let's take these subscribers out for the rides of their lives!
Have You Ever Been in a Drift Car Before?
PASSENGER: Never.
CHRIS: Alright, this is gonna be a good one. PASSENGER: Dude, my heart is going. CHRIS: Good, you ready? PASSENGER: Oh my God.*chuckling* Yo.[Engine continues roaring, tires start screeching] PASSENGER: (through laughter) Oh my God. For anyone who's watching and you haven't idea if it's really that good, it's that good! I promise you. Oh my God. Dude, thank you. Thank you a million.
CHRIS: No problem, man. As you could probably tell, this is an amazing experience and it's cool because most people have never been for a ride in a drift car. And this experience is something you really never get a chance to feel, unless if you actually get in one.
Have You Ever Been in a Drift Car?
PASSENGER: Nope.
CHRIS: Have you ever been in a drift car? PASSENGER: No, I have not, I drifted my Subaru, but... CHRIS: Ever been in a drift car before? PASSENGER: Nope. CHRIS: Have you ever been in a drift car? PASSENGER: No, no, first time I ever saw it, my nephews got a car here today. So I come up to see 'em.
CHRIS: Alright Bryan, ever been in a drift car?
BRYAN: Nope.
CHRIS: OK. And man oh man, we got 50 people in this drift car today and check it out.
PASSENGER: HERE WE GO!!!! PASSENGER: (laughs) Oh my God!

This is awesome!\"PASSENGER: Oh my gosh...PASSENGER: That was a good run!CHRIS: That was a good run.PASSENGER: It was an awesome run.PASSENGER: You've gotten pretty good atthis.CHRIS: Thank you.So after a ton of rides, they switched up thecourse and we ran it the other way.And this, unfortunately, is when we had ourfirst casualty.MATTHEW: I'm your big, big-- number onefan.CHRIS: Awesome, dude. That's what I like to hear.MATTHEW: I've been wanting to meet youfor so long.CHRIS: Well now you're actually in the car!MATTEW: I'm IN IT, it's so cool![normal screeches, followed by a morepronounced one]MATTHEW: Just blow a tire?CHRIS: Yeah.MATTHEW: *laughs*Alright, first casualty of the day.De-beaded a tire, but this tire was toastanyway, look at that.Alright, so I'm gonna get some new tires onthere and we're gonna get back out there.Look at this.Line of people here, going ride after rideafter ride, and she's taking it and she'staking it hard, like, all day long, non-stop.I don't want to jinx myself right now, butthis is why the Mustang is such a--a soliddrift car, so...OK, let me go change this tire right now.So let's remove the lug nuts,And then out with the old,and in with the new.As always, I torque down the lug nuts in astar pattern to make sure we don't have anyissues with the wheel coming off on thetrack.Safety is important. And while we're at it, we're gonna replacethe other tire as well so we have a fresh seton and that'll help keep the driftsconsistent, and it'll help the rear endlock up evenly as well.Alright, tires are on ready to go.Just to give you an idea, you guys arealways asking, \"How long do tires last?\"The best thing about the DriftStang...These tires have, about, I'd say like 50 runson them, and that's when it de-beaded.That's when it was like just enough whereit's over.So I've run them all the way down.A lot of drifters do that, it just gets themost out of your tire.50 runs on a set of tires.A lot of these guys that are making a lot ofhorsepower, they go 5 runs and they neednew tires. So I got these tires switched out. We'll get the car off the jack stand, andwe'll get back out there and give themride-alongs.This one is gonna be fun.Matthew convinced his mom to go for aride. She is terrified, but I give her credit forstepping out of her comfort zone. But there's no holding back.I'm still gonna send it.MATTHEW: Ohh, wow!CHRIS: Way grip here!MATTHEW: Much different!CHRIS: That was good, right?MATTHEW'S MOM: That was good.It was good, thank you.CHRIS: So today, everyone was having ablast and the car was holding up great. For Day 1, we got 50 ride-alongs andtomorrow, it's supposed to be even busier.CHRIS: So what's your name?PASSENGER: Matt.CHRIS: Matt?MATT: I gotta say I really appreciate youdoing the charity...because, for me, it really hits home.CHRIS: Yeah?MATT: Yeah, I went through treatment acouple years ago.CHRIS: Really?Do you mind me uh, asking for what?MATT: Osteosarcoma.CHRIS: OK, I honestly, I don't know whatthat is.MATT: It's a bone cancer.CHRIS: Oh, wow.Are you good now?MATT: Yeah, I'm all good now.CHRIS: Awesome, dude. But I'm glad you're better, and now you'rehere donating for charity, and that's whatit's all about. And this ride-along is the perfect one forme to tell you guys about the charity we'reraising money for.St. Jude is a children's hospital thatprovides treatment to kids with cancer andother horrible diseases;Things that kids shouldn't have to dealwith. In the 1960s, 1 in 5 kids who got treatmentat St. Jude survived. But today, thanks to research andtreatment funded by donations like this,4 out of 5 kids survived. So this charity makes a huge difference forpeople just like Matt here, and I'm proud to be doing this today. You want to know what?Forget doubling the ride-along donations,we need to do something bigger, something that gets you guys, theviewers, involved.Let's do this; for every time you share thisvideo, I'm gonna donate an additional $1,and that's how you guys can help out anddonate to a good cause.MATT: That's incredible.CHRIS: How old are you?PASSENGER: 7.CHRIS: 7, you're the youngest rider yet!And what's your name?PASSENGER: Gabriel.GABRIEL: Wheee!CHRIS: What'd you think?GABRIEL: That was...AWESOME!CHRIS: Yes!Give me a pound, man.And run after run, everyone was having anamazing time. But then my biggest fear;Disaster struck. What the heck?Something's not right.PASSENGER: Yeah, it doesn't sound good.CHRIS: So we'll get you to jump in again, something not running right.I need to check on it.Something's not running right. It's running on four cylinders or something. It's just, it doesn't feel right, I can't evendrift.Uhh, hopefully, it's look--Well, it's dead now.Uhm...Yeah, I need to figure out what's going on, itjust died, it's not running right, can't drift.It-- we've been going continuously for about8 hours now.So I need to figure out what's wrong. So I'm gonna scan the computer, see ifthere's any pending codes, if it's missing, ifit's... the fuel pumps dead, whatever'swrong.Hopefully, it'll let us know.OK, so the scan is telling us that the CoilPack A circuit is open and that most likelymeans the coil pack is bad and needs tobe swapped out.So let's remove Coil Pack A, which is prettyeasy.Just remove the electrical connector andthen there are four bolts holding this in.And while I'm doing this, I did post up anSOS, I need a coil pack for the 4.6.I could make a run to the parts store, butthat's about an hour round-trip and we haveat least 50 fans waiting for rides, and thisis not good.If I have to make that run to the partsstore, there's no way we're gonna be ableto get all 50 rides done by the end of theday. This is what I was afraid of.OFFSCREEN PERSON: Heard you needed acoil pack, I actually have one.CHRIS: Yes!Awesome, thank you so much! This is perfect! And this will fit, right? That's the exact same thing.Beautiful, thank you very much man, Iappreciate it.OK, so now let's get these wires on the newignition coil, and then screw this in as quickly aspossible because time is of the essence.Hopefully, this fixes it and it's notsomething worse. Here goes...I just wanted to take a second and say thatdude saved the day.You ready?OFFSCREEN: Yeah.Because of him, we were only down for 10minutes, which is basically two ride-alongslost.Fingers crossed!Alright, let's see if we could do this.Hopefully, it's just the coil pack.PASSENGER: It sounds better.CHRIS: We're gonna send it.PASSENGER: I'm feeling it.Woo!Yeah! So for the rest of the day, the car ran evenbetter than before. We managed to get everyone who signedup into the DriftStang for a ride.We even had one extra lap to getsomebody who is deathly afraid of gettingin my drift car, and that is my sister. And I made sure to send it extra hard onthis last lap.You know, as a brother should do.[SisFix laughing and occasionally saying\"oh my god!\"]SISFIX: That was awesome, yeah!Oh my gosh, that was awesome.Alright, I did it.CHRIS: Holy smokes, just went through thisentire event today.60 ride-alongs, that's from the start of theevent, 10 A.M, to now it's over 6 P.M.They gave me a few extra runs in so Icould get some more fans in.Non-stop, we had one hiccup where thatcoil went but we fixed it.Real quick teamwork.Everybody came together to help.Holy smokes, this is insane! And all this today couldn't be possiblewithout the help of these guys.Everybody here helped out big time, Ireally appreciate it.I couldn't do this alone.It's-- it was literally impossible, it was runafter run after run after run.Day 2 done, Day 3 coming up!Alright, so this is the last day, and there'salready a line. And our first subscriber of the day isbelted in and ready to go.So let's send it!And I want to give you guys a feel for howspecial these ride-alongs are.Not just for the charity, but also for thepeople themselves.Listen to this.PASSENGER: So I hope this gets in thevideo. My shop class at school watches... yourvideos.CHRIS: Yeah?PASSENGER: Yeah.CHRIS: And where you from?PASSENGER: I'm from Scituate,Massachusetts.CHRIS: Wow, how long was that for a ride?PASSENGER: 5 and a half-hour drive.CHRIS: Four and a half?PASSENGER: Five and a half.CHRIS: Five and a half, woo! Thanks for coming out dude.PASSENGER: Yeah.PASSENGER: I don't even know what to say,I'm out of words.CHRIS: Yeah, what's your name?PASSENGER: Uh, Kyle.CHRIS: Kyle, Where are you from?KYLE: Uh, I'm from Cincinnati.Uh, and I had to take two flights.CHRIS: Two--?You flew here?KYLE: Yeah.CHRIS: That's insane.KYLE: You've been so inspirational to me,so I aspire to be a mechanic one day.I've never been in like a real... exciting carbefore.CHRIS: You nervous?KYLE: Yeah, not really, no.\"Oh, this is awesome!\"I'm never gonna forget this.CHRIS: Awesome, dude.Thank you so much for jumping in.KYLE: Thank you so much.CHRIS: All the way from Cincinnati. That is incredible.KYLE: You've made a lot of people's days.CHRIS: Your boyfriend makes you watchthe videos?PASSENGER: Yeah.PASSENGER: I knew nothing about like, cars and then I bought one when I turnedlike 16, and your videos saved me somuch money, man, they're awesome.CHRIS: That's great, that's what I like tohear. That's the whole reason I make the videos. Now next I jumped on an opportunity, and Iasked one of the event models if shewanted to go for a ride-along.And here is what happened:MODEL: Oh my God, what a bucket seat!Look at me!CHRIS: Have you ever been in a drift carbefore?MODEL: No!CHRIS: No?[the usual, complimented by giggling andcheerful screaming]MODEL: Holy crap!Oh my God!I feel like my helmet's not on straight!CHRIS: What do you think?MODEL: That was crazy!CHRIS: That's fun, right?MODEL: Oh my God, that was so fun.CHRIS: I get to do that all day long.I love it!MODEL: Wow.CHRIS: I'm always ready to send it.PASSENGER: I just think you gotta beexhausted.CHRIS: The rest of the day went great.I was able to get all 50 people to jump infor a ride and the car ran flawless.By the end of the day, we hit a milestone; The DriftStang drifted over 100 miles! And we did this for 8 hours a day for thelast 3 days, so 24 hours total. And when you think about it, this car wasgoing to the crusher. But we saved it and built it the right wayand this proves how well-built this car is.All those videos of doing things the rightway, this is the proof, and all I could think is how incredible thisis.CHRIS: How was that?PASSENGER: That's intense.CHRIS: That's fun, right?PASSENGER: Yeah, that was fun.PASSENGER: Oh my god, you were lying. You're flying!CHRIS: And just like that, the last ride of theevent was done and we did it.We made it all three days. And that was the most epic thing I've everdone with this car.We had 160 subscribers go for ride-alongs.That means we raised $1600 for charity. But wait, it doesn't stop there!Every share this video gets, I will donate$1 of my own money. As you can see here, YouTube lets me trackshares in the
