Let's Send a Test Email: A Cautionary Tale of Impulse Purchase Fails

I'm going to send a quick email, okay? Since I got all my emails connected together, let's test it out. Okay, here we go... Test email sent... We hit okay... Got the watch here... No movement on the watch yet... Let's see what happens now... They tell you that you're going to have to repeat this about four to five times for it to work. Hey, that's fine. Connection to impulse fail... All right... Now if you look at the forms... That's the main problem that everybody's having... It won't stay connected... All right and that's that's the situation on all of my phones... It won't connect... Okay, so right now as it stands this impulse watch is a fail on a 1 to 10... I'm rating it a three. You know look at this... The quality of it... Never even got a chance to put it on yet... I was just putting it around my wrist and it just popped right out... So now imagine you wearing it somewhere and you walking down the street or you running to catch a cab and your watch pops off like that. That's unacceptable.

Okay, this is a complete fail... Complete waste of money... And now you're talking about $215 for this watch in Black... The silver one would be about $50 all right. Now imagine paying $250 for a Bluetooth headset... You're going to want some quality headset... Now take off some of the price... Pay $215 for a Bluetooth watch... This is what you get... Bubble wrap... Faulty watch... Let's just start packing this stuff up... Right now because we all know as my brother would say, RTS, return to sending all right. So we're going to pack this up... We're going to ship it back... And like I said the concept is good maybe when it comes out in Best Buy or something I'll give it another try.

This where I could buy it go in the parking lot if it doesn't connect... Go right back inside and walk back out with my money... I hate when you get something in the mail and now now it's like I got to wait to recoup that $215... You know wait now on near time so I don't like that. So this watch right now is a fail... Let's just pack everything up ship it back... Don't do it all right if you got Android you got iPhone you got BlackBerry on this one... I recommend that you wait until they come out with more stable software. Right now this is definitely not a go.

connect to your Android phone your iPhone or your blackberry and you know you wear it like a regular watch and when you get alerts on your blackberry or your I phone or your Android the alerts pop up on your watch that's the concept of the watch so you know it makes sense that anybody has a Blackberry this would be almost something that's mandatory especially if you in a business setting you know and you're in the meeting or something you don't want to keep you know reaching out looking at your phone you can just casually check your messages from yourr okay so that's a good concept I'm giving a concept of 10 all right as far as the actual device I don't know right now I'm calling it a fail I had a lot of problems with this thing had a lot of problems with the company already you know keep in mind this this device was initially uh announced last year around January it was supposed to be ready for shipping in February so I initially was planning to get this last February but February March April May June they kept pushing it back pushing it back I originally just you know I just gave up on it and then out of the blue two weeks ago I got an U my brother told me that he got an email so I checked my my you know I had it in my spam folder checked my email and sure enough I had an Emil saying that they're ready to start shipping them out so I just ordered it it just came in the mail and I got it today and um let's go take a look and see what it look like now this is the Box okay now everybody knows I like a nice box this ain't one of them all right the Box looks kind of beat up but we can't judge him for that maybe maybe something happened on the truck maybe it got beat up in you know in transit whatever so we won't hold them accountable for that but when you open the box this is what it looks like all right bubble wrapping with a micro USB cord okay nothing F nothing fancy you got the actual device take a look at that in a second you got the startup guide which is just a piece of paper that looks like you know it's been in somebody's back pocket already and you got this transparent piece of plastic what's this for I don't know you have to figure that out on your own take a look at the watch now the watch itself looks good all right it looks looks like a nice design it's a rubber band nothing too fancy has a nice LCD screen one button on the side that's it just one button and you have your micro USB charger okay so let's let's take a look let's put it on and see what it looks like on the wrist all right because you know when you're looking at stuff on the picture looks a lot different when you put it on then you know okay now just going to put it on okay and it just broke just that fast fresh out the box okay that was my first time ever attempting to put this thing on but whatever maybe we could stick that pin back in there and we try that again that's not a good sign though you know when you pull out the watch and it breaks the very first time you're putting it on that's kind of a symbol of you know what you have to look forward to but whatever we'll stick that pin back in there and we'll keep it going all right now I'm glad this is happening in real time so you could see what you'll have to deal with when you get yours if you get yours which I wouldn't suggest getting but anyway we won't even get into the all this stuff right you to pair it with your blackberry now keep in mind now I had this watch all day long I've been trying to pair it it's not working okay so I call the company up and I tell tell them hey look you know I got a Blackberry you know and they saying okay well maybe something's wrong with a particular Blackberry you know they they're not too helpful on the phone okay little do they know though I always walk around with two blackberries so I said you know what I got two blackberries it's not working on either one of them okay so it's not the phone it's something with the watch what's going on they say okay well you know it's still in beta testing phases you know ship it back to us we'll send you a new one maybe something's wrong with it or whatever okay fine but just for argument sake I say you know on your Facebook page it says is that you could connect it to your iPhone also your Android they say yeah well you know you could do that I said well I have an HTC Evo right here it's not connecting he says okay well the software is not really finished for that yet so it won't work okay fine and also you know just out of coincidence I happen to have an iPhone also what's up with that it's not working either well you know blah blah blah there's no software for the iPhone yet either so basically the Facebook page is all false advertising this is a ba beta product it's not ready yet nothing really works on it you know check all the forms everybody who ordered it the day it came out is having the same problems now if you're like a software developer and all that stuff and you really go with that text stuff they they look on the forms there's a way that you could flash some notification program and Flash some program to keep up you know the watch paer with your phone but just average person like me who just want to order something get it plug it in and use it it's not working it's not a goal all right so what I'll do right now now that that was it this is a fail but just in case you want to see for yourself and if my brother if you watching this I'll show you what I'm doing and maybe if I'm doing something wrong you let me know but I'm following the directions 100% this is what they tell you to do okay now you turn the watch on you see it's ready to be paired it has the Bluetooth symbol all right so now you take your blackberry you go to your settings right all right now what I'm going to do I'm going to search for the Bluetooth okay now it's already it's ready to be paired I'm going to search and let's see what happens okay so far nothing okay you see my car is already on here and my Bluetooth headset okay so let's add device let's search again it's ready to be paired finding a few items let's see what we got here we got a bunch of blackberries got got all my phones up in here nothing all right so now what they tell you to do in the troubleshooting hold the button down for 5 seconds reset the device and try it again okay little vibration I just heard so that means it's resetting you see it says loading okay so we following the steps right now so this should work then theoretically it should work but like I said I did this about 10 times already on all of my phones none of them worked okay yeah it could be a faulty watch but judging by the forums it's faulty software but let's try it again anyway okay so now everything is paired up ready to be paired Let's uh add a device search okay there we go we got the impulse now on this it tells you the pair code so let's drop the pair code in there 5884 okay pairing complete now the next step and I felt a little vibration under the watch okay so now the next step is go to the app that they want you to download they have an Impulse app okay on your blackberry you see it right there impulse app you click that on now to make sure your watch is completely paired and everything is working good they want you to send a a test email or a test test message okay so let's let's send a
