right matt i think the internet has been patiently waiting for this video off the paint how you've been taking care of the paint here showman using one bucket i know i thought i taught him better than that she'd seen some better days the hood is is not the original paint so don't mind i see that the uh the swirls on that yeah yeah yeah this is my old car man had this thing like pristine somehow you managed to find rust and get rust on it and result the fender uh everybody said you were gonna ruin it i guess they were right so well at first i didn't i left it pretty much stock for a while yeah yeah so uh for those of you guys that didn't know this was matt's old gt350 he traded into the dealer i bought it from the dealer was planning to turo it fell in love with it burned down here we are it's clean ish yeah well i hadn't washed it for you today it's been sitting it's a little bit in pieces right now just for uh serviceability hanging out all right so there's the the new thing so what's the story here uh i know the story yeah people okay for the people it uh it presented an opportunity to itself i don't like selling cars i don't like getting rid of cars chassis was still fine engine bay was burnt up wanted to put a bear in something these engines are very tall so they fit in very little and it just so happened to fit beautifully in a new mustang yeah that's fit well what would you do did you have to make custom motor mounts and stuff there's a company that sells them really yeah there's only like one other car that really has the engine in it it's a drift car but yeah um i think it's proven to be a pretty rad street car just working on a few little bugs um ac works but it has a leak so i got to get it recharged yeah but you got a few months before it gets real hot yeah but anyway let's do it i'm excited to give you a ride on this thing first thing i wanted from very the first thing i want to see is you remember what it used to sound like right like you geeked out over the exhaust system on this yeah it's great yeah all right listen to this you got to stay outside of the car for this one all right this is this is the reaction that i want you ready yeah all right so i've heard it in videos well listen to it in real life it sounds like the gt350 doesn't it does a lot yeah it blew my mind i heard it this morning it sounds like it's a little smoother flutter not quite as much um flat plain flutter but same same idea the same tone same deepness well what is this exhaust it's the same stock exhaust we just basically merged it to the uh american racing exhaust yeah well that will have something to do with it it's cool though isn't it yeah all right let's take it for a ride what'd you say so remember i'm uh i'm a very valuable old man here bro it's taking easy on me it gets easy on my sensibilities okay so it technically only has 9 000 miles on it so that's a cluster from a different car okay how many miles did i put on it i don't remember oh i think like maybe 8 000 and then i put on like another 8 000 or so that's normal yeah just a little vibrating little squeak so it's first gears up and then all down i feel like i'm so self-conscious of every noise when you're in the car because i know you're like overly analytical i don't care into your car there's a little loose nut in here that i just got to tighten it on that that should be away it doesn't it feels pretty other than this little rattle right now you wouldn't know i can still adjust the mag rod and everything i don't understand sequential so they're still you you don't sh you don't push the clutch and change gears uh only to come to sleep so the only time you're supposed to not use the clutch is when it's under load you have to double clutch or no it's like you're all bunch of chef it's pretty neat huh yeah so what's it it's like 7 or 800 horsepower or something like that yeah about that right now yeah so you like this better than the automatic oh yeah the automatic you just like it felt like the car had a mind of its own and it would kind of shift when it would want to shift and it just acted very strange how do you know what's in neutral let's go i've got a little like indicator here i don't like the old uh the rear end's going like this and you're shifting back and forth that's what freaks me out the the no sway bar kind of exaggerates it i just resigned myself that i'm just gonna die like i don't really get like nervous on that i'm like oh you're just gonna die all right cause it's a mustang it's just it feels like that the engine has no prayer but to just explode this is turned down too yeah i'm sure i'm excited uh this is the first time i've driven it and the clutch hasn't slipped and forth freddie like play with some settings i get so this is one of the few cars that makes me nervous yeah but compared to when i had the auto it's 10 times better because the auto it would sometimes just randomly shift and it would generate so much torque on the shift yeah that would just instantly do like a 100 mile an hour burnout for now it's pretty like you know you can lift or you can clutch in yeah yeah that's pretty gnarly now we're running out of time because we have to go to a new shop but when i get back i want to go civic oh yeah yeah yeah it's actually riding like not too bad it's still stock suspension very uh yeah but i mean even at idle and horizon that's the gold like swap cars are usually associated with feeling like a piece of yeah but to try to make it streetable and like a street car that can be daily well we're back from touring the new shop and it started raining but part of today i wanted to drive matt's absolutely insane civic i'm gonna let him talk a little bit about it but behold matt's pride and joy now you want to talk at all about it or do you want to go for a drive this is like my childhood thing when i was your age my son's age here then this is what i had it sucks though but it's so cool it's so cool but it sucks you'll see give them the dollar figure just for the for the wow effect you know i wanted it to be like 10 grand but it's 142 i think is that what i'm all in on you are crazy i i didn't set out to do that but i needed to buy like seven sets of wheels to figure out what fits i bought some sean talked me into it's his fault shawn talked me into buying 14 000 motons for it and then an engine swap and a 26 000 stereo and yeah they just paid what it cost and that this is what it costs to make the car of this level really slow it's 128 foot pounds of torque but it's it is really cool like this this is the unfinished project you know i traded this car in for an s2000 when i was uh you know when i was 22 23. and uh i've always wanted to complete this project let's go for a drive all right i dig it i love the wrinkle red look at that this is a sick touch too the baby little radiator i love the color of the headers too yeah total header fujitsu bow exhaust motown three-ways uh anti-gravity battery john from lht made me a custom titanium intake pretty safe it was cool time all right it's going to be interesting taking this thing for driving the the rain rain yeah the sound quality and video quality won't be too bad interior wise i feel like i'm in a bmw with this type of steering wheel on these seats that's the s2000 wheel all right so oh thank gosh we took the the solid mounts out i'm gonna take the other two out too real quick um can you get like i don't know anything about honda engines you said this is type r yeah so this is a jdm b18c it's a 1.8 liter just dyno to 196 horsepower that's 28 foot pounds of torque yeah it's fun this is what i wanted when i was a kid you know i wanted a b18 out of a type bar so this was it was brought in from japan john from lht built it it's built yeah what'd you do to it uh i don't remember what he did i think just like new pistons new rods but i don't we didn't change compression or anything like that it's a it's a medium compression just in a nice oe like build the uh shifter feels cool yeah that's a just a type r without with a tenzo r short shifter doesn't sound bad either is insane i can feel the uh the lsd in the front yep that's cool it reminds me my evo it feels a lot nicer than i expected yeah that's the well that's what's been 140 grandkids you buy a car that's really it's got 27 000 miles on it otherwise you get some jank machine you know i heard uh i think tommy effia has a better one than this you know like les that's what you miles you had no i want to multi bar but i wanted one i'm just kidding get out of here was this did this car sell for more or less than that type r did uh less so i bought this for 25 i think he's bought his toy type for 50. i feel like just in the time you've owned this car the market's gone up a lot well i tried to buy the other one there was a 6200 mile car or something like that and it sold for 50. i bit 49.5 and i gave up and the other guy bought it i was planning to do buy two of them and give them you know give them both away to do a modified one on a stock one but you know this car sucks stop what are you up to a nine it's good you'll see it's good i'm excited you know i haven't watched any videos of you driving this so i have no idea what to expect it's good does it come with other seats in back uh well this was a dealer installed option back in 2000 i think it was like 1500 bucks or something they wouldn't they'd have someone come and install the leather instead of fabric from the dealer does it torque steer a lot or not really uh not so much with the lsd now but i don't know this is the first alignment we've gotten told the sound is good i told you it's induction noise so we're fine with this chassis was still fine engine bay was burnt up wanted to put a bear in something these engines are very tall so they fit in very little and it just so happened to fit beautifully in a new mustang yeah that's fit well what would you do did you have to make custom motor mounts and stuff there's a company that sells them really yeah there's only like one other car that really has the engine in it it's a drift car but yeah um i think it's proven to be a pretty rad street car just working on a few little bugs um ac works but it has a leak so i got to get it recharged yeah but you got a few months before it gets real hot yeah but anyway let's do it i'm excited to give you a ride on this thing first thing i wanted from very the first thing i want to see is you remember what it used to sound like want you ready yeah all right so i've heard it in videos well listen to it in real life it sounds like the gt350 doesn't it does a lot yeah it blew my mind i heard it this morning it sounds like it's a little smoother flutter not quite as much um flat plain flutter but same same idea the same tone same deepness well what is this exhaust it's the same stock exhaust we just basically merged it to the uh american racing exhaust yeah well that will have something to do with it it's cool though isn't it yeah all right let's take it for a ride what'd you say so remember i'm uh i'm a very valuable old man here bro it's taking easy on me it gets easy on my sensibilities okay so it technically only has 9 000 miles on it so that's a cluster from a different car okay how many miles did i put on it i don't remember oh i think like maybe 8 000 and then i put on like another 8 000 or so that's normal yeah just a little vibrating little squeak so it's first gears up and then all down i feel like i'm so self-conscious of every noise when you're in the car because i know you're like overly analytical i don't care into your car there's a little loose nut in here that i just got to tighten it on that that should be away it doesn't it feels pretty other than this little rattle right now you wouldn't know i can still adjust the mag rod and everything i don't understand sequential so they're still you you don't sh you don't push the clutch and change gears uh only to come to sleep so the only time you're supposed to not use the clutch is when it's under load you have to double clutch or no it's like you're all bunch of chef it's pretty neat huh yeah so what's it it's like 7 or 800 horsepower or something like that yeah about that right now yeah so you like this better than the automatic oh yeah the automatic you just like it felt like the car had a mind of its own and it would kind of shift when it would want to shift and it just acted very strange how do you know what's in neutral let's go i've got a little like indicator here i don't like the old uh the rear end's going like this and you're shifting back and forth that's what freaks me out the the no sway bar kind of exaggerates it i just resigned myself that i'm just gonna die like i don't really get like nervous on that i'm like oh you're just gonna die all right cause it's a mustang it's just it feels like that the engine has no prayer but to just explode this is turned down too yeah i'm sure i'm excited uh this is the first time i've driven it and the clutch hasn't slipped and forth freddie like play with some settings i get so this is one of the few cars that makes me nervous yeah but compared to when i had the auto it's 10 times better because the auto it would sometimes just randomly shift and it would generate so much torque on the shift yeah that would just instantly do like a 100 mile an hour burnout for now it's pretty like you know you can lift or you can clutch in yeah yeah that's pretty gnarly now we're running out of time because we have to go to a new shop but when i get back i want to go civic oh yeah yeah yeah it's actually riding like not too bad it's still stock suspension very uh yeah but i mean even at idle and horizon that's the gold like swap cars are usually associated with feeling like a piece of yeah but to try to make it streetable and like a street car that can be motons for it and then an engine swap and a 26 000 stereo and yeah they just paid what it cost and that this is what it costs to make the car of this level really slow it's 128 foot pounds of torque but it's it is really cool like this this is the unfinished project you know i traded this car in for an s2000 when i was uh you know when i was 22 23. and uh i've always wanted to complete this thank gosh we took the the solid mounts out i'm gonna take the other two out too real quick um can you get like i don't know anything about honda engines you said this is type r yeah so this is a jdm b18c it's a 1.8 liter just dyno to 196 horsepower that's 28 foot pounds of torque yeah it's fun this is what i wanted when i was a kid you know i wanted a b18 out of a type bar so this was it was brought in from japan john from lht built it it's built yeah what'd you do to it uh i don't remember what he did i think just like new pistons new rods but i don't we didn't change compression or anything like that it's a it's a medium compression just in a nice oe like build the uh shifter feels cool yeah that's a just a type r without with a tenzo r short shifter doesn't sound bad either is and you're probably on the ding dang summer tires these are almost um more fun to just slowly rev out just let it it takes forever to get the nine grand in like second gear the the brakes feel
